With the advent of future vehicles, passengers expect to travel in comfort, and the free leg space between facing-seats could be an issue due to the unsuitability for all people, according to their anthropometric variability. A previous investigation survey showed the need to increase the leg-space between facing seats and, if installed, to improve the surface of the table placed in between. So, four different distances between seat-pans front edges of facing seats have been set-up and tested (44 cm, 51 cm, 58 cm, 65 cm) with a table in between. 13 couples of participants with different heights took part to experiments. The aim was to investigate the relationship between facing-seat distances and passenger wellbeing in terms of postural comfort and social interaction. Postural comfort has been analysed through optical tracking (for postural angles overtime) and questionnaires (perceived comfort). Social interaction feelings have been investigated with questionnaires. Experiment results showed the suitable distance could be 51 cm keeping the same table surface; otherwise, the 65 cm one could be ideal changing the table surface.Relevance to industryWith the advent of autonomous driving, vehicle manufacturers and designers are working hard to define new paradigms of public transportation in terms of seat layout, passenger wellbeing and interiors’ design. This paper contributes to increasing the general knowledge on the effects of distance between facing seats on postural comfort and social interaction.  相似文献

The rapid evolution of new service systems raises crucial challenges for service design and requires effective methods. This study depicts a conceptual service design framework, called design-oriented systematic inventive thinking (DSIT) approach, which can be applied in different problem contexts. DSIT is presented as a new systematic and collaborative intelligence approach for creating and evaluating complex service systems using multi-criteria data analytics. DSIT synthesizes the current field of TRIZ service-design knowledge system and the emerging area of non-TRIZ service-design knowledge system. DSIT enables integrated development of service offerings at four dimensions and provides the matching integrated service design approach for each dimension. Four types of service design approaches are conceptualized as “human-independent service engineering,” “problem-clarified service engineering,” “solution-converged service engineering,” and “designing for service.” A new service computer-aided design system (service CAD) named DSIT explorer is developed consisting of customization, compatibility, and extensiveness of DSIT modules. A pervasive and smart collaborative service system (i.e., the smart MOS burger service solution) designed using DSIT explorer is illustrated. DSIT is a holistic, interdisciplinary, and collaborative service design concept, which is incorporated into a collaborative and intelligent service CAD framework to enable systematic inventive thinking throughout phases of service design lifecycle from problem definition, problem resolution, to solution evaluation.  相似文献

Uniform nitrogen and sulfur co-doped carbon nanospheres with an average diameter of approximately 200 nm were prepared using sulfur and polyacrylonitrile as precursors. The materials were characterized using scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, elemental analysis, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The characterization results suggest the as-prepared materials had uniform, porous, nanospherical morphologies and high surface areas. For the typical sample containing 9.5% sulfur, the surface area is up to 653 m2 g−1. The catalysts exhibited enhanced catalytic activity, outstanding long-term stability, and excellent methanol tolerance in an alkaline medium. Significantly, the sulfur addition was found to be vital in improving materials’ catalytic performance through preventing aggregation of the nanospheres, constructing porous structures, increasing the surface area, and participating in the formation of active sites.  相似文献

This paper proposes a new method of detecting an object containing multiple colors with non-homogeneous distributions in complex backgrounds and subsequently estimating the depth and shape of the object using a stereo camera. To extract features for object detection, this paper proposes fuzzy color histograms (FCHs) based on the self-splitting clustering (SSC) of the hue-saturation (HS) color space. For each scanning window in a pyramid of scaled images, the FCH is obtained by accumulating the fuzzy degrees of all of the pixels belonging to each cluster. The FCH is fed to a fuzzy classifier to detect an object in the left image captured by the stereo camera. To find the matched object region in the right image, the left and right images are first segmented using the SSC-partitioned HS space. The depth of the object is then found by performing stereo matching on the segmented images. To find the shape of the object, a disparity map is built using the estimated object depth to automatically determine the stereo matching window size and disparity search range. Finally, the shape of the object is segmented from the disparity map. The experimental results of the detection of different objects with depth and shape estimations are used to verify the performance of the proposed method. Comparisons with different detection and disparity map construction methods are performed to demonstrate the advantage of the proposed method.  相似文献

This paper investigates the interaction of the SH0 mode with discontinuities in plate waveguides. The scattered fields are evaluated using a novel method that exploits the principle of reciprocity in elastodynamics. The results obtained compare to those provided by a finite element model. Very good agreement between the analytical and numerical models proves the effectiveness of the proposed approach, enabling us to clearly elucidate the role of the different size and shape parameters involved. The discontinuities considered are single and double sharp reductions of plate height of different amounts and lengths, where both symmetric and nonsymmetric one-sided notch cases are treated. Regimes related to low and high values of the product frequency and height of the plate are investigated, showing the dependence of reflection and transmission coefficients on length and height of the discontinuity, as well as the occurrence of mode conversion. The analytical approach proposed leads to a better understanding of the interaction of guided waves with discontinuities, which may stimulate the application of guided waves to defect sizing rather than to simple detection.  相似文献

The rate of formation of crystalline phases from liquid and glassy mold powder slags is of foremost importance in the performance of molds used for continuous casting of steel. This study shows how the Induction Period (of Šimon and Kolman) and the Kissinger methods can be combined in a kinetic model to evaluate the isothermal rate of formation of crystalline phases from thermo-analytical data – onset temperature, Ti, peak maximum temperature, Tm, shape index, S, and conversion at peak maximum, xm – collected at various linear heating and cooling rates. The diagram of the extent of isothermal transformation as a function of time calculated for a commercial mold powder, used for casting low carbon steels, shows good agreement with the degree of transformation observed in photomicrographs of glass disks devitrified isothermally, at several temperatures for different times. Additionally, qualitative and quantitative X-ray diffraction results obtained at room-temperature from glass powder samples treated isothermally and quenched also show good accord with the degree of transformation predicted with the kinetic model developed in this work.  相似文献

A simple method to fabricate porous titanium was developed, with which the graded microporous titanium alloys could be prepared by simply casting. The in-situ formed graded microporous structure and its effect on the mechanical properties of the titanium alloys were investigated. The results indicated that the mechanical properties of such graded microporous titanium alloys were superior to the porous titanium fabricated by other methods. This work provides a bright prospect for the production of graded porous titanium alloys with low-cost and high properties. This method can also be applied to synthesize other porous metallic biomaterials.  相似文献

Direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) is a powerful tool to produce titanium based biomaterials because the ease to convert 3D medical imaging data into solid objects with excellent mechanical and corrosion properties. DMLS samples can be functionalized by anodizing, allowing the growth of titanium oxide layers of enhanced properties. In the present paper, a complete characterization of the microstructure, mechanical properties and particularly, the corrosion behavior has been carried out to assess their possible use as biomaterial. The results of the anodized scaffolds are very promising, showing a Young Modulus near to the cortical bone and a low corrosion rate, ensuring their suitability for medical applications.  相似文献

Friction spot welding is a relatively new solid-state joining process able to produce overlap joints between similar and dissimilar materials. In this study, the effect of the process parameters on the lap shear strength of AA6181-T4/Ti6Al4V single joints was investigated using full-factorial design of experiment and analyses of variance. Sound joints with lap shear strength from 4769 N to 6449 N were achieved and the influence of the main process parameters on joint performance was evaluated. Tool rotational speed was the parameter with the largest influence on the joint shear resistance, followed by its interaction with dwell time. Based on the experimental results following response surface methodology, a mathematical model to predict lap shear strength was developed using a second order polynomial function. The initial prediction results indicated that the established model could adequately estimate joint strength within the range of welding parameters being used. The model was then used to optimize welding parameters in order satisfy engineering demands.  相似文献

Steel fibre reinforced cementitious composite (SFRCC) panels are numerically investigated for their performances under high velocity impact of short projectiles. Numerical responses are obtained using advanced constitutive material model of Riedel–Hiermaier–Thoma (RHT) for cementitious materials and adopting appropriate modelling techniques. Effects of steel fibre volume and the thickness of panels on the impact performance are mainly highlighted in this paper. Various characteristics phenomenon during impact on cementitious composite panels namely, spalling, cracking, scabbing and perforation, are captured which is a difficult task. Scabbing is likely to occur when tensile stresses at the back face of the panel exceed dynamic tensile strength of the material. Various critical aspects in numerical modelling like boundary conditions, material input parameters, and handling severe distortion of the Lagrangian based finite elements are appropriately explained. Design chart is also developed to determine optimum fibre volume and thickness for an impact energy level up to 2.2 kJ. The numerically predicted impact responses are found to corroborate well with experimental results.  相似文献
