Presents an obituary for Sidney Orgel (1926-2003). Bud, as everyone knew him, received his bachelor's degree from New York University in 1948. He completed his master's (1950) and doctoral (1956) degrees in clinical psychology at the University of Connecticut. Bud joined the staff of the Syracuse Veterans Administration Hospital in 1956 and then in 1968 moved to the State University of New York Upstate Medical Center to develop a Division of Clinical Psychology. He remained at Upstate for the rest of his career and in 1993 was appointed professor emeritus. The high esteem in which he was held at Upstate is reflected in his selection as acting chair of the Department of Psychiatry, a position he held from 1981 to 1985 and a rare position for a psychologist. It was at Upstate that Bud's unique talents flourished. His first accomplishment was the development of one of the country's outstanding clinical psychology internships. The training and education of psychologists became a passion for him. Interns adored him, not only because he was an outstanding supervisor, but also because his trainees knew that his goal was providing them with the best possible experience and training. Multicultural training at internship sites is a critical component in the preparation of doctoral-level psychologists, so the quality of this training is of the utmost importance. In the following study, the authors examine multicultural training from the perspective of predoctoral interns and training directors at counseling center sites that offer a major or minor rotation in multicultural therapy. Results suggest that perspectives vary between interns and training directors and that there is a great difference in the type of criteria used by each site as evidence of a major or minor rotation. The need for more standardized criteria to define major and minor rotations and suggestions for the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers, internship training directors, and prospective interns are discussed. The American Psychological Association (APA) Committee on Accreditation announces the following changes in the listing of accredited doctoral (clinical, counseling, school, and combined professional-scientific), internship, and postdoctoral residency programs in professional psychology. These changes update the listing in the December 2002 issue of the American Psychologist. Except for newly accredited programs, updates for the year of next review will not appear in this listing but will be updated annually in December. Complete listings are available on request from the APA Office of Program Consultation and Accreditation. The Committee on Accreditation has accredited the predoctoral internship training programs in psychology offered by the agencies listed. The criteria for evaluating these programs can be obtained from the Accreditation Office. There are three categories of accreditation. Full accreditation is awarded to any program that, in the professional judgment of the committee, meets the criteria in a satisfactory manner. Provisional accreditation is awarded to programs making initial application that, in the professional judgment of the committee, do not meet all the criteria but for which the committee believes there is a reasonable expectation that they will be met within a foreseeable period of time from the date of the initial site visit. Probation is the category into which a fully accredited program is placed when the committee has evidence that it is not currently in satisfactory compliance with the criteria. On the recommendation of the Committee on Evaluation, the Education and Training Board has recommended and the Board of Directors of the American Psychological Association has approved for doctoral training in clinical and counseling psychology the internships offered by the agencies listed in this article. These training agencies meet the minimum standards stated in the American Psychologist, 1958, 13, 59-60.
