The dissolution of the conventional breaking points in the construction and completion phases of a building's delivery has blurred ‘the distinction between the production of design intent and the transmission of information’. Here Richard Garber , Director of the School of Architecture at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), advocates that architects should use this as an opportunity to widen their remit, gaining agency and with it responsibility and the financial rewards to practice. 南宁吴圩国际机场新航站楼项目的屋面幕墙形式复杂、造型独特.屋面幕墙工程及其相关系统的设计、深化与优化的过程中,大量应用了参数化技术.在三维建模软件“犀牛(Rhinoceros)”和参数化插件“草蜢(Grasshopper)”组合平台之上,笔者编写了实现“屋面网格生成与优化”的若干“功能模块”.自动化的流程替代了手动操作,大大提高了优化效率.  相似文献

Engineering disciplines have, historically, been strongly dominated by physics. Structural and civil engineering are still based on the notion of controlling the forces of physics within our material world. However, a shift from physics to biology as the underlying paradigm of engineering is on the horizon, and with it a fundamental change in the way we conceive and practise architecture. Peter Trummer speculates on the possibilities and potential repercussions of ‘engineering ecologies’, which will be inherent to such a paradigm shift, by investigating a broad palette of contemporary design disciplines aimed at the careful modulation of environments and ecologies. 采用Surfer和Rhinoceros联合建模法,将以往采用刚体极限平衡法分析拱座稳定时只能以二维展现并分析的地形、结构面、块体、水推力、渗压等控制性要素以三维模型展现,将平面模型转换为实体模型,实现了三维可视化操作。通过此三维模型可简洁明了的分析块体组合方式,采集块体要素、水推力、渗压等拱座稳定分析所必需的数据,保证了数据的准确性和查错的便捷性,提高了数据采集的效率,从根本上保证了拱座稳定分析的可靠性。通过工程实例说明了采用Surfer和Rhinoceros联合建模法在刚体极限平衡法分析拱座稳定中的应用以及优势。  相似文献

Much of our architectural heritage today is built out of unreinforced masonry. It is often unclear why historic masonry structures still stand when conventional analysis tools have predicted their failure. In order to ensure the safety of these existing structures, there is an acute need for innovative tools that can accurately analyse their stability. Associate Professor Philippe Block, Tom Van Mele and Matthias Rippmann of the Block Research Group, part of the Institute of Technology in Architecture at ETH Zurich demonstrate how computational form-finding methods and design tools for masonry structures that stand in pure compression, such as arches and vaults, make it possible to design expressive and efficient surface structures that can be built with very little or low-quality material. By studying the techniques of medieval master builders, the Block Research Group has also developed new ways of building with masonry, enhanced by current construction and fabrication technologies. These new tools and reinvented construction methods can be applied in different contexts: for instance, by studying the structure of Gothic cathedrals, they manage to dramatically reduce the use of materials in office construction.  相似文献
