Assessing disharmony and disaffection in intimate relationships: Revision of the Marital Satisfaction Inventory factor scales.

Previous research has identified 2 broad components of distress in intimate relationships: overt conflict, or disharmony, and emotional distance, or disaffection. Using confirmatory factor analysis, the authors derived 2 broadband scales of disharmony and disaffection from the Marital Satisfaction Inventory-Revised (D. K. Snyder, 1997), building upon previous measures of these constructs (D. K. Snyder & Regts, 1982) derived from the original instrument. The new scales demonstrated high internal consistency and test-retest reliability, as well as discriminative validity and convergent validity with independent criteria of relationship functioning. Distinct distributions of these scales in community and clinical samples suggested their complementary role in research on intimate relationships and assessment of couples in treatment. 目的 选取当代西方具有代表性的“非和谐”设计实践,从形式分析的角度出发,重点对视觉设计领域中的“非和谐”形态进行分类研究与归纳总结。方法 在设计学和美学的视角下,对和谐与“非和谐”交互式的发展历程进行文脉梳理,归纳了在审美观念多元化的当代,视觉形式语言非常规表达下的几类常见形态,并深入分析了此类“非和谐”设计形态的特征和审美要素,详细解析“非和谐”作为非常态设计形式运用的背景、表象与审美意味,继续深化对此类设计试验的认识。结论 “非和谐”形态本身复杂与模糊的特征,都使其具有不稳定性和争议性,但不可否认“非和谐”设计实践获得了丰富的视觉词汇,扩张了和谐自身的形式语言和种类,是对设计观念的意义深化,对和谐自身的必要补充。     

Strong Completeness and Limited Canonicity for PDL

Propositional dynamic logic () is complete but not compact. As a consequence, strong completeness (the property ) requires an infinitary proof system. In this paper, we present a short proof for strong completeness of relative to an infinitary proof system containing the rule from [α; β ⁿ ]φ for all , conclude . The proof uses a universal canonical model, and it is generalized to other modal logics with infinitary proof rules, such as epistemic knowledge with common knowledge. Also, we show that the universal canonical model of lacks the property of modal harmony, the analogue of the Truth lemma for modal operators.

The changing family relationships of adolescent girls.

The TAT is used to investigate the changing relationships of adolescent girls to their parents. The hypothesis posed is that the relationship between mother and daughter should be characterized by more conflict during the pubertal period, the relationship between father and daughter being more tranquil during the same period. Greater interaction, both disharmony and harmony, in the mother-off-spring relationship than in the father-offspring relationship is noted at all five age levels used in the experiment. However, the proportions of themes classified as equilibrium and disequilibrium remains the same in both relationships, suggesting the greater mother-offspring disharmony to be a function of greater interaction of mothers and daughters.
