Using a laser system for local heat treatment, it is possible to adjust the mechanical properties of aluminum blanks in a restricted area by influencing the precipitation structure to manufacture so called Tailored Heat Treated Blanks (THTB). These blanks are characterized by a distribution of the mechanical properties adapted particularly for the forming conditions during deep drawing.This paper presents a finite element (FE) based procedure to determine adequate laser parameters for the heat treatment process to enhance the forming limits. Both FE and experimental results show the improved process compared to the conventional drawing of homogeneous aluminum blanks. 相似文献

Several automotive parts such as door panels have been manufactured by using load-adapted blanks for crash optimization and weight minimization.Recently, Tailor Rolled Blanks (TRB) has been introduced to remove the disadvantages of a welding process which was used in joining panel components.TRB offers better structural design capabilities due to the seamless transitions on the panels with different thicknesses.In spite of the advantages of the process, TRB leaves internal stresses in the panel.This residual stresses lower the formability of Tailor Rolled Blanked (TRBed) parts and cause cracks near severe curvature during subsequent forming processes.In this research, the residual stresses of TRBed Al5J32-T4 sheets were studied by X-ray stress analysis, and also microstructure was observed along the rolling direction.In addition, heat treatment was done after TRB process in order to compare the residual stresses to that of the TRBed sheets before the heat treatment. 相似文献

This paper studies the microstructural features and mechanical properties of friction stir welds with dissimilar alloys and different thicknesses. The welds are produced in five different thickness/material combinations from 2024-T3 and 7075-T6 sheets with different thicknesses. A parametric study is conducted to optimize the welding parameters such that the different configurations can be compared. The paper is divided into two chapters: microstructural features and mechanical properties. In the first chapter, a study of the chemical composition and microstructure of the welds shows that a narrow chemical mixing zone is present in the dissimilar-alloy welds and that the stirring zone embodies the union rings and exhibits heterogeneous texture for most configurations. Study of the hardness, tensile properties and fracture surfaces in the second chapter shows that an asymmetric softened region, which is harder at the advancing side and extends more into the retreating side, is formed in the stirring zone and that the mechanical properties decrease as the thickness ratio increases. The fracture was partially ductile and partially brittle for all configurations. 相似文献
