In general, this paper deals with general nonlinear oscillations of a nonconservative and single degree-of-freedom system with odd nonlinearity and, in particular, it presents accurate higher-order analytical approximate solutions to van der Pol damped nonlinear oscillators having odd nonlinearity and the Rayleigh equation. By combining the linearization of the governing equation with harmonic balancing and the method of averaging, we establish accurate analytical approximate solutions for the general weakly damped nonlinear systems. Unlike the classical harmonic balance method, simple linear algebraic equations instead of nonlinear algebraic equations are obtained upon linearization prior to harmonic balancing. The combination of these two methods results in very accurate transient response of the periodic solution. In addition and for the first time, this paper also presents a method for deducing fourth-, fifth- and higher-order linearized governing equations from the lower-order equations without the requirement of formulating the problem from the first principle. Three examples including the van der Pol damped nonlinear oscillator are presented to illustrate the excellent agreement with approximate solution using the exact frequency.  相似文献

A deterministic model for multipurpose, multiperiod batch plants was presented in a linearized form to predict the future design according to the change of demand by using a modified Benders’ Decomposition. The OSL code offered by the IBM corporation as optimizer was employed for solving several example problems. The decomposition method was successful, showing remarkable reduction in the computing times as compared with those of the direct solution method. Also the heuristic used as a solution approach for the multiperiod model provided an efficient methodology to the block-structured problem by dividing the large overall problem into the manageable single period blocks.  相似文献

A model representing the wet-end section of a paper mill has been developed to characterize its dynamic behavior during the grade change. The model is based on the mass balance relationships written for the simplified wetend white water network. From the linearization of the dynamic model, higher-order Laplace transfer functions were obtained followed by the reduction procedure to give simple lower-order models in the form of 1st-order or 2nd-order plus dead times. The dynamic response of the wet-end is influenced both by the white water volume and by the level of wire retention. Effects of key manipulated variables such as the thick stock flow rate, the ash flow rate and the retention aid flow rate on the major controlled variables were analyzed by numerical simulations. The simple dynamic model developed in the present study can be effectively used in the operation and control. 提出了用精馏塔对含氮天然气脱除N2生产液化天然气(LNG),精馏塔塔釜液位的一种控制方法。该方法以脱氮分离效率和稳定的产品(LNG)出料温度为控制目标,建立了塔釜液位控制模型并仿真。整个闭环控制模型包括被控对象传递函数,调节阀传递函数,PID控制传递函数和检测传递函数。其中调节阀传递函数的建立,采用先计算阀位-Cv值(流量系数)曲线;然后通过系统辨识法[1]求得数学模型;最后利用泰勒级数把非线性化转化为线性化并求得传递函数。通过Matlab软件[2]的仿真,在阶跃干扰下,得到了合适的液位变化曲线和合适的阀位变化[3]。  相似文献

This paper applies the concept of linear feedback equivalence to two-dimensional nonlinear control systems of a certain model structure. Uniqueness and stability characteristics of the system are investigated. It is shown that global asymptotic stability can in general be achieved. A simple mathematical expression for a component of the unique steady-state is derived which provides a guide for the choice of the control parameters to obtain desirable dynamic properties and minimize steady-state offset. Numerical experiments in the phase plane of a model of an exothermic CSTR are employed to verify the analysis.  相似文献

This article gives a historical perspective on the evolution of implicit algorithms for the Navier–Stokes equations that utilize time or Newton linearizations and various forms of approximate factorization including alternating-direction, lower/upper, and symmetric relaxation schemes. A theme of the paper is how progress in implicit Navier–Stokes algorithms has been influenced and enabled by the introduction of characteristic-based upwind approximations, unstructured-grid discretizations, parallelization, and by advances in computer performance and architecture. Historical examples of runtime, problem size, and estimated cost are given for actual and hypothetical Navier–Stokes flow cases from the past 40 years.  相似文献

The quadratic knapsack problem (QKP) has been the subject of considerable research in recent years. Despite notable advances in special purpose solution methodologies for QKP, this problem class remains very difficult to solve. With the exception of special cases, the state-of-the-art is limited to addressing problems of a few hundred variables and a single knapsack constraint.In this paper we provide a comparison of quadratic and linear representations of QKP based on test problems with multiple knapsack constraints and up to eight hundred variables. For the linear representations, three standard linearizations are investigated. Both the quadratic and linear models are solved by standard branch-and-cut optimizers available via CPLEX. Our results show that the linear models perform well on small problem instances but for larger problems the quadratic model outperforms the linear models tested both in terms of solution quality and solution time by a wide margin. Moreover, our results demonstrate that QKP instances larger than those previously addressed in the literature as well as instances with multiple constraints can be successfully and efficiently solved by branch and cut methodologies.  相似文献
