A lubrication-flow model for a free film in a corner is presented. The model, written in the hyperbolic coordinate system

for the film thickness and the velocity field which, to lowest order, describes plug flow in the hyperbolic coordinates. A
free film in a corner evolving under surface tension and gravity is investigated. The rate of thinning of a free film is compared
to that of a film evolving over a solid substrate. Viscous shear and normal stresses are both captured in the model and are
computed for the entire flow domain. It is shown that normal stress dominates over shear stress in the far field, while shear
stress dominates close to the corner.

Corner detection is a low-level feature detection operator that is of great use in image processing applications, for example, optical flow and structure from motion by image correspondence. The detection of corners is a computationally intensive operation. Past implementations of corner detection techniques have been restricted to software. In this paper we propose an efficient very large-scale integration (VLSI) architecture for detection of corners in images. The corner detection technique is based on the half-edge concept and the first directional derivative of Gaussian. Apart from the location of the corner points, the algorithm also computes the corner orientation and the corner angle and outputs the edge map of the image. The symmetrical properties of the masks are utilized to reduce the number of convolutions effectively, from eight to two. Therefore, the number of multiplications required per pixel is reduced from 1800 to 392. Thus, the proposed architecture yields a speed-up factor of 4.6 over conventional convolution architectures. A new return method for implicit integration of linear isotropic yield criteria is presented. The basic idea is to perform all the manipulations in the principal stress space and thereby achieve very simple formulae for calculating the plastic corrector stresses, based on the constant gradient of such criteria. The return formulae are in closed form and no iteration is required. The method accounts for three types of stress return: return to a single yield plane, to a discontinuity line at the intersection of two yield planes and to a discontinuity point at the intersection between three or more yield planes. The infinitesimal and the consistent elastoplastic constitutive matrix are calculated for each type of stress return, as are the conditions to ascertain which type of return is required. 为了对比基于Hopfield Neural Network(HNN)和几何绘图的遥感亚像元分类制图方法的具体性能,验证空间相关性原理用于遥感亚像元定位的可行性。以一个研究区的TM影像为对象,通过利用HNN和几何亚像元制图方法,获得该区的亚像元定位结果,对比分析了各方法的视觉效果、精度和时间复杂度。结果表明:空间相关性特性在两种方法中得到了良好的体现,为后续亚像元制图研究应用提供参考。 相似文献

曲线匹配对于物体识别、目标跟踪、碎片拼接等有着重要的意义。针对曲线匹配的效率与鲁棒性问题,提出了一种基于角点距离矩阵和同心圆划分的曲线描述与匹配算法。该算法分为粗略匹配和精确匹配两个阶段。粗略匹配阶段首先采用角点距离矩阵来描述曲线;然后通过子矩阵的方法来匹配曲线。精确匹配阶段首先采用同心圆划分的方法描述曲线;然后通过两条曲线同心圆描述集的差异度度量函数来度量他们的相似性。算法不仅具有平移、旋转、缩放不变性,而且具有较强的鲁棒性,可用于遮挡物体的匹配以及基于轮廓的图形拼接。实验结果表明了该算法的有效性和可行性。 相似文献

Determination of temperatures associated with room fires provides a means of assessing an important aspect of fire hazard: the likelihood of the occurrence of flashover. Layer temperatures in excess of 600°C have been associated with the occurrence of flashover. A data correlation has previously been presented to estimate layer temperatures for fires burning in the center of rooms. For fires in corners and along walls, restricted entrainment results in higher layer temperatures than predicted by the previous correlation. Modification factors for the previous correlation are developed to extend its applicability to wall and corner burning geometries. The present analysis suggests that a fire in a corner may cause flashover with only half the heat release rate necessary for a fire burning in the center of a room.
