The effect of water concentration on the foaming tendency of lubricating oil containing the detergent additives Ca-phenate and amide was investigated from a surface chemical standpoint. Foam volume, dynamic surface tension and surface viscosity were measured at various water concentrations. It was proved that the increase of surface viscosity with water content was the main factor affecting foaming in the case of Ca-phenate but, in contrast, the Marangoni effect played an essential role in the case of amide.  相似文献

Endogenous tocochromanols in extracted lipids from rice brans of the five cultivars were determined by high-performance liquid chromatography, and were investigated in relation to the fatty acid (FA) distribution of triacylglycerols (TAG) and phospholipids (PL). The dominant tocols were α-tocopherol and γ-tocotrienol, followed by α-tocotrienol and with much smaller amounts of γ-tocopherol and δ-tocotrienol. The lipids of these rice brans comprised mainly TAG (80.6–86.0 wt.%), free FA (4.2–9.0 wt.%), and phospholipids (5.5–6.7 wt.%), whilst other components were also detected in minor proportions (0.2–2.1 wt.%). The PL components included phosphatidyl choline (31.8–46.8 wt.%), phosphatidyl ethanolamine (25.0–38.9 wt.%) and phosphatidyl inositol (20.2–23.2 wt.%). Comparison of these different cultivars showed, with a few exceptions, no significant differences (P > 0.05) in FA distribution. FA distribution of TAG among the five cultivars was evident in the rice brans: unsaturated FA were predominantly concentrated at the sn-2 position and saturated FA primarily occupying the sn-1 or sn-3 position. These results suggest that the tocopherol content, lipid component, and FA distribution in rice brans are not dependent on the cultivation areas during the growing season.  相似文献

Design criteria for gas entrainments (GE) from the liquid surface in a fast breeder reactor system were proposed in this paper for the two types of GE phenomena from a vortex dimple based on a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method. The first gas entrainment phenomenon is a gas core extension directly to the outlet piping level, which induces large amount of GE to the flow system. The second is continuous bubble detachments from the tip of the vortex dimple. Based on CFD calculations for elemental experiments of the surface vortex, local CFD non-dimensional numbers were defined as the design criteria to prevent GE. In conclusion, it was found that the CFD non-dimensional numbers are useful for the design parameters of GE prevention.  相似文献

The line-focus-beam ultrasonic material characterization (LIFB-UMC) system is applied to compare and evaluate tolerances provided independently for the Curie temperature T/sub C/ and lattice constant /spl alpha/ to evaluate commercial LiTaO/sub 3/ single crystals by measuring the Rayleigh-type leaky surface acoustic wave (LSAW) velocities V/sub LSAW/. The relationships between VLSAW, and T/sub C/ and /spl alpha/ measured by individual manufacturers were obtained experimentally using 42/spl deg/YX-LiTaO/sub 3/ wafers as specimens from three crystal manufacturers. In addition, the relationship between VLSAW and SH-type SAW velocities V/sub SAW/ that are actually used for the SAW device wafers was obtained through calculations, using the chemical composition dependences of the acoustical physical constants for LiTaO/sub 3/ crystals reported previously. The result of a comparison between the T/sub C/ tolerance of /spl plusmn/3/spl deg/C and the /spl alpha/ tolerance of /spl plusmn/0.00002 nm through the common scale of VLSAW or VSAW demonstrated that the /spl alpha/ tolerance is 1.6 times larger than the T/sub C/ tolerance. Furthermore, we performed a standardized comparison of statistical data of T/sub C/ and /spl alpha/ for LiTaO/sub 3/ crystals grown by two manufacturers during 1999 and 2000, using VLSAW. The results clarified the differences of the average chemical compositions and of the chemical composition distributions among the crystal ingots between the two manufacturers. A guideline for the standardized evaluation procedure has been established for the SAW-device wafer specifications by the LFB-UMC system.  相似文献

We carried out the growth of highly strained GaInAs-GaAs quantum wells (QWs) on a patterned substrate for extending emission wavelength on a GaAs substrate. We examined the shift of photoluminescence wavelength of the QWs and showed a large wavelength shift due to the spatial modulation in well thickness and indium composition. We demonstrated a single-mode multiple-wavelength vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) array on a patterned GaAs substrate covering a new wavelength window of 1.1-1.2 /spl mu/m. By optimizing pattern shape, we achieved multiple-wavelength operation with widely and precisely controlled lasing wavelengths. The maximum lasing span is as large as 77 nm. We carried out a data transmission experiment through 5-km of single-mode fiber with a 2.5 Gb/s/channel. The total throughput reaches 10 Gb/s. The VCSEL-based wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) source would be a good candidate for WDM-LAN beyond 10 Gb/s.  相似文献

Infrared transmission spectra of C60 multilayers on thin Pd films deposited onto surface-oxidized Si(100) and hydrogen-terminated Si(111) substrates are reported. In both cases, the spectra in the 1500–1100 cm−1 region exhibited bands at 1444, 1429, and 1182 cm−1 due, respectively, to the Ag (2), T1u (4), and T1u (3) modes. The appearance of the Ag (2) mode, which is originally infrared inactive (Raman active), reveals electron transfer from the metal to chemisorbed C60. Indeed, increasing the thickness of C60, the Ag (2) mode intensity saturated more rapidly than the T1u (4) and T1u (3) modes. The originally infrared active T1u (4) and T1u (3) modes were enhanced in intensity depending upon the Pd thickness. Actually, while both substrates gave nearly the same magnitude of enhancement, the optimum Pd thickness was smaller on the hydrogen-terminated surface than on the surface-oxidized surface. On the other hand, the Ag (2) mode was less intense on the hydrogen-terminated surface than on the oxidized surface, suggestive of a shortage of chemisorbed C60 and thus pointing out the importance of the metal film morphology. Indeed, Pd films deposited on the two substrates gave rise to quite different AFM images. We also show that, regardless of the substrate, the Ag (2) mode is an order of magnitude smaller than for Ag deposition, though no remarkable intensity differences were observed with respect to the T1u (4) and T1u (3) modes.  相似文献

From the aspects of economical competitiveness, proliferation resistance, and minimizing waste problems, PNC has proposed an improved recycle concept for the FBR fuel cycle, termed Advanced Fuel Recycle System. Reprocessing in this system is based on the well-known PUREX flowsheet and features a “single cycle Pu/U co-extraction flowsheet” with lower decontamination factor (DF) than that in the conventional process. This feature is practical because of the FBR's low neutronic sensitivity to impurities.

Such a simplified extraction process without purification cycles should substantially reduce not only the number of process components but also the quantities of liquid to be treated in other related processes, so it will lead to the proportional reduction in waste processing, waste itself, and all other related equipments and facilities. This should improve overall economics. One method being examined to further reduce the liquid throughputs and simplify the process is to apply the crystallization technique to dissolver solution.

Overall, with this proposed concept, proliferation resistance will be significantly improved because plutonium is always recovered as a mixture with the uranium and DF of the plutonium product is low.

Reprocessing and fabrication processes are integrated into one fuel cycle plant in this system further contributing to these improvements.  相似文献
