Oxovanadium(IV) Schiff base complex have been anchored onto the surface of purely siliceous MCM-41 and tested for its activity as catalyst for the oxidation of sulfides. This catalyst could alter this oxidation reaction extremity, exhibiting excellent yields with 100 % selectivity. The intercalation of the complex inside the silica matrix was supported by various characterization techniques like X-ray diffraction, differential thermogravimetric (TG-DTA), BET measurements, UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The stability of the catalyst during the course of the reaction was confirmed from its post catalytic FT-IR and XRD analysis. The catalyst could be reused five times without notable loss of its catalytic activity and efficiency which indicates that the metal-Schiff base moiety is intact and the coordination environments are not altered during the reaction.  相似文献

Influence of two nano-size additives on electrical properties of suspension matrix of self-flowing low-cement high alumina refractory castable is investigated. For this purpose, castament FS 10 and FS 20 on the basis of polycarboxylate ether were considered. The self-flow value, workability and mechanical strength of the castable are evaluated and their relations with electrical conductivity are determined. Using these relations, the type and optimum amount of proper additive for these refractory castables are determined. It was shown that if the electrical conductivity of matrix suspension is less than 0.71 mS/cm, high alumina low-cement self-flowing refractory castable can be obtained. The best self-flow, sufficient working time and adequate mechanical strength in the castables are obtained with 0.08 wt.% FS 20.  相似文献

We developed a simple, rapid and highly efficient flame synthesis method for direct growing carbon nanofibers (CNFs) on carbon paper (CP) using a common laboratory ethanol flame as both heat and carbon sources. High density CNFs with tangled solid-cored structure were uniformly formed over the Ni-plated CP surface in ∼20 s. The morphologies of the CNFs were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. X-ray diffraction study revealed the graphitic nature of the CNFs. Raman spectroscopy analysis confirmed that the CNFs are disordered graphitic nanocrystallites with high degree of exposed edges. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry were used to show that growing CNFs directly on CP facilitates electron transfer with concomitant increase in double-layer capacitance. The CNF/CP was used as support for Pt nanoparticles to study their supporting effect on the catalyst performance. The as prepared Pt/CNF electrocatalyst exhibited much improved electrocatalytic activity for methanol oxidation compared to Pt/CP and commercial Pt/C on CP. High electronic conductivity and improved electrochemical behavior of the CNF/CPs, resulted from direct contact of the nanofibers with CP, combined with unique properties of CNFs, make the synthesized CNF/CPs promising for fuel cell applications.  相似文献

By virtue of the surface plasmon resonance effect, plasmonic nanoparticles (NPs) can localize the light field and significantly enhance the performance of some optoelectronic devices. In this work, NPs are employed for an enhanced generation of terahertz radiation from LT-GaAs-based antennas. Therefore, we have prepared plasmonic TiN NPs by direct ultrasonication (ULS) and pulsed laser ablation (PLA) techniques. The zeta potential, particle size, and absorbance were used to characterize the NPs in their colloidal forms in a comparison to commercial Au NPs. A layer of polydispersed titanium nitride (TiN) NPs prepared by PLA and deposited on the surface of an LT-GaAs device shows a significant improvement of terahertz signal generation from these devices with an enhancement of the peak to peak amplitude of 100%.  相似文献

Based on the active coupled line concept, a novel approach for calculating the noise performance of microwave/mm-wave field-effect transistors (FETs) is proposed. Organic semiconductor to metal Schottky contacts have been widely used in electronic devices and to investigate the properties of organic semiconductors. In designing and characterizing these devices the full depletion approximation is used. The analytical and numerical simulations presented in this paper suggest that this approximation is not generally valid. Simulations of a Schottky contact between regioregular-poly 3 hexylthiophene (rr-P3HT) and aluminum show that this approximation becomes worse as molecular order decreases, with the potential profile increasingly deviating from the expected quadratic function of position. Also the depletion width decreasing well below that predicted using the approximation. In this work the slope of the band tail is used as a measure of disorder.  相似文献

In this study, the mechanical properties of the composite plate were considered Gaussian random fields and their effects on the buckling load and corresponding mode shapes were studied by developing a semi-analytical non-intrusive approach. The random fields were decomposed by the Karhunen−Loève method. The strains were defined based on the assumptions of the first-order and higher-order shear-deformation theories. Stochastic equations of motion were extracted using Euler–Lagrange equations. The probabilistic response space was obtained by employing the non-intrusive polynomial chaos method. Finally, the effect of spatially varying stochastic properties on the critical load of the plate and the irregularity of buckling mode shapes and their sequences were studied for the first time. Our findings showed that different shear deformation plate theories could significantly influence the reliability of thicker plates under compressive loading. It is suggested that a linear relationship exists between the mechanical properties’ variation coefficient and critical loads’ variation coefficient. Also, in modeling the plate properties as random fields, a significant stochastic irregularity is obtained in buckling mode shapes, which is crucial in practical applications.  相似文献

Objective: The objective of this study was to fabricate double-walled poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) microspheres to increase encapsulation efficiency and avoid rapid release of hydrophilic drugs such as meglumine antimoniate.

Methods: In this study, double-walled and one-layered microspheres of PLGA were prepared using the emulsion solvent evaporation technique to better control the release of a hydrophilic drug, meglumine antimoniate (Glucantime®), which is the first choice treatment of cutaneous leishmaniasis. The effect of hydrophobic coating on microspheres' size, morphology, encapsulation efficiency and drug release characteristics was evaluated. Furthermore, the presence of antimony in meglumine antimoniate made it possible to observe the drug distribution within the microspheres' cross section by means of energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.

Results: Drug distribution images confirmed accumulation of the drug within the inner core of double-walled microspheres. In addition, these microspheres encapsulated the drug more efficiently up to 87% and demonstrated reduced initial burst and prolonged release compared to one-layered microspheres. These superiorities make double-walled microspheres an optimum candidate for sustained delivery of hydrophilic drugs.

Conclusion: Double-walled microspheres provide some advantages over traditional microspheres overcoming most of their limitations. Double-walled microspheres were found to be more efficient than their corresponding one-layered microspheres in terms of encapsulation efficiencies and release characteristics.  相似文献

High diagnostic sensitivity and specificity while maintaining the least dose to the patient is the ideal mammography. The objective of this work was to evaluate patient dose and image quality of mammograms to propose corrective actions. The image quality for 1242 patient in 7 mammography facilities in Tehran city was evaluated based on selected image quality criteria using a three-point scale. Clinical image quality, the entrance surface air kerma, the average glandular dose and optical density of films for standard PMMA phantom of 4.5 cm thickness were evaluated. The results showed that up to 72 % of mammograms were in good condition to be diagnosed, and only about 3.4 % of the images were unacceptable or with suboptimal quality. The entrance surface air kerma values were in the range of 3.8-10.5 mGy, average glandular dose 0.5-1.8 mGy and optical density of films 0.74-2.03. The image quality evaluation after correction actions, periodic image quality evaluation and using the correct equipment certainly will improve patient dose.  相似文献

The viscoelastic and mechanical properties of composites multi walled carbon nanotube (MWNT)/epoxy at different weight fractions (0.1, 0.5, 1 and 2 wt.%) were evaluated by performing tensile and dynamic-mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA) tests. The MWNT/epoxy composite were fabricated by sonication and a cast molding process. The results showed that addition of nanotubes to epoxy had significant effect on the viscoelastic and mechanical properties. However, the use of 0.5 wt.% increased the viscoelastic properties more significantly. Concerning viscoelastic modeling, the COLE–COLE diagram has been plotted by the results of DMTA test. These results show a good agreement between the Perez model and the viscoelastic behavior of the composite.  相似文献
