The behavioural framework has several attractions to offer for the identification of multivariable systems. Some of the variables may be left unexplained without the need for a distinction between inputs and outputs; criteria for model quality are independent of the chosen parametrization; and behaviours allow for a global (i.e., non-local) approximation of the system dynamics. This is illustrated by the identification of dynamic factor models. Behavioural least squares is a natural method for this problem, and a comparison is given with non-behavioural methods. 相似文献

Whether a task can be completed after a failure of one of the degrees-of-freedom of a redundant manipulator depends on the joint angle at which the failure takes place. It is possible to achieve fault tolerance by globally planning a trajectory that avoids unfavourable joint positions before a failure occurs. Looped water distribution networks have traditionally been used in urban and industrial water supply. Nowadays, they are also being introduced in certain irrigation water distribution systems, such as in greenhouse horticultural systems. The design of looped networks is a much more complex problem than the design of branched ones, but their greater reliability can compensate for the increase in cost. Most articles found in the literature try to minimize the network investment cost, while other designing objectives are considered as constraints. This article introduces a multi-objective memetic algorithm that simultaneously optimizes the total investment cost, and also the reliability of the network in terms of total surplus power at the demand nodes. This memetic algorithm uses the Pareto-dominance concept to determine the quality of the solutions. The results obtained in two small water supply networks, and a large irrigation water supply network denote the good performance of the memetic algorithm here proposed in comparison with other well known meta-heuristics. 相似文献

Within the framework of a bicycle helmet research program, we have set up a database of bicycle accident victims, containing both accident and clinical data. The database consists of a consecutive series of 86 victims of bicycle accidents who underwent a neurosurgical intervention in our hospital between 1990 and 2000. Data were obtained from police files, medical records, computed tomography head scans and a patient questionnaire. In only three victims, the wearing of a helmet was documented. In this study, the head injuries are analysed and the relation between the different types of head injuries and outcome is assessed. Forty-four accidents were collisions with a motor vehicle and 42 accidents were falls. Most impacts occurred at the side (57%) or at the front (27%) of the head. The most frequent injuries were skull fractures (86%) and cerebral contusions (73%). Age was negatively correlated with outcome (P = 0.0002 ) and positively correlated with the number (P = 0.00002) and volume (P = 0.00005) of contusions and the presence of subdural haematomas (P = 0.000001). The injuries with the strongest negative effect on outcome were: subarachnoid haemorrhage (P = 0.000001), multiple (P = 0.000005) or large ( P 0.0007) contusions, subdural haematoma (P = 0.001) and brain swelling (P = 0.002). A significant coexistence of these four injuries was found. We hypothesise that in many patients the contusions may have been the primary injuries of this complex and should therefore be considered as a main injury determining outcome in this study. We believe that such findings may support a rational approach to optimising pedal cyclist head protection. 相似文献

Hierarchical self‐assembly is achieved using a visible light triggered photoreaction. A pro‐gelator, α‐diketone‐2,3‐didecyloxyanthracene, is photoconverted into a low molecular weight gelator, 2,3‐didecyloxyanthracene (DDOA), that self‐assembles into nanofibers. Spatial confinement and patterns of these nanofibers onto a surface are achieved by localizing initial nucleation with a focused laser and photogenerate subsequent fiber growth with the laser or gentler wide‐field irradiation. Remarkably, collective growth of nanofibers results in anisotropic micropatterns with orientation factors (OF) reaching 79%, resulting in collective emission of linearly polarized light. The OF, distance of collective growth and fiber density, are controlled by the photoirradiation conditions and the balance of interactions between DDOA aggregates and the glass surface. An unprecedented juxtaposition of orthogonally oriented nanofiber patterns on an isotropic surface is achieved with individual control of the fibers' main direction. In perspective, this photochemical method can be extended to a large variety of self‐assembling molecules. 相似文献
