This study aimed to evaluate the effect of different enrichment procedures on the detection of Listeria monocytogenes in food, by a comparison of subculture onto chromogenic agar with real-time PCR. Two different culture media, the primary and secondary enrichment broths of the U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) method used for PCR detection of L. monocytogenes, were compared for the primary enrichment of retail ground chicken samples. L. monocytogenes was detected after the completion of each enrichment procedure in 63% (complete FSIS procedure) and 60% (plain FSIS secondary enrichment broth incubated for 48 h) of the samples by both culture and PCR, whereas a combination of the results for the two enrichment procedures revealed 86% of the samples to be positive. Most of the samples analyzed contained a mixture of lineage I and II strains, and their ratio varied for each enrichment procedure. This mixture could have a significant effect on the result of detection of L. monocytogenes for each individual sample, explaining the increase in positive samples when the results of the two enrichment procedures were combined. The use of different isolation procedures can affect the specific samples identified as positive and the specific strains isolated.  相似文献

Multiple‐input floating‐gate transistor (FGMOS) circuit designers face a serious problem along the design process: the lack of a realistic simulation model. For this reason, a solution that properly predicts the initial voltage at the floating gates is presented in this paper. In order to assess the performance of the proposal, a comparison is made against a test circuit fabricated in a 0.5‐µm On‐Semiconductor CMOS process. Based on this comparison, the proposed model is shown to be a fundamental tool in the design of FGMOS circuits. © 2014 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan. Due to the unexpected, fast, and constant changes of market requirements and the hypercompetency, robust manufacturing systems are needed that adjust easily to operational variability and the customized product supply. The simply substitution of components, software, hardware, and/or their adaptation by parameters resetting are an attractive option to face this challenge. Short product life cycles are an undeniable consequence and evidence of this. For this reason, to develop products or services profitably in the product manufacturing field, it is common to use the product family concept, which involves sharing components, functional features, and manufacturing process, both to make a cheaper product development process and to obtain customized products. A new generation of manufacturing systems that deploy characteristics such as adaptability and flexibility responding to the market dynamics called reconfigurable manufacturing systems (RMS) are required by market according to manufacturing experts. The manufacturing systems with modular architecture are the best way to meet flexible and adaptable RMSs because they allow reconfiguration by a simple module substitution or by resetting module operation parameters. This paper presents a design methodology developed to obtain modular RMS. The method integrates the utilization of modular architecture principles, selection algorithms (analytical hierarchical process), clustering algorithms (average linkage clustering algorithm), family product features and functional system analysis in the classical product design process. The methodology proposed allows defining the most adequate modular system architecture and the modular definition of the reconfiguration variables that are needed to reach the flexibility required. A real study case about a heat exchanger assembly machine is presented where this methodology is applied in order to present an evidence of its usefulness.  相似文献

Bifurcaria bifurcata is a widely extended brown macroalga, whose antimicrobial and antioxidant properties have previously been described. In this study, ethanolic extracts of B. bifurcata were included in the icing medium employed for the chilled storage of megrim (Lepidorhombus whiffiagonis). For it, two different concentrations of this brown macroalga extract (0.67 and 2.50 g lyophilized alga L?1 aqueous solution; B-1 and B-2 batches, respectively) were tested for a 14-day storage. The effect of the alga extract was compared with a counterpart batch stored in traditional ice prepared only from water (B-0 batch). Significant (p < 0.05) inhibitions of microbial activity (aerobes, psychrotrophs, lipolytic bacteria, proteolytic bacteria and Enterobacteriaceae) as well as of pH and trimethylamine formation were observed as a result of the incorporation of the alga extract in the icing medium, being this effect especially relevant in the B-2 batch. Concerning lipid damage development, a significantly (p < 0.05) lower formation of free fatty acids (lipid hydrolysis development) and of fluorescent compounds (tertiary lipid oxidation development) in samples corresponding to both alga-including batches could also be observed; this inhibitory effect was more intense in fish belonging to the B-2 batch. The icing medium proposed in this work constitutes a promising strategy in order to apply algae extracts to enhance fish quality retention during the different steps of storage and commercialization of marine species.  相似文献

Abstract

Fourier transform near infrared (FT-NIR) associated with multivariate analysis was used to estimate glucan, xylan, 4-O-Methyl-α -D-glucuronic acid (MeGlcA) content, and pulp yield in kraft pulps of Eucalyptus globulus Labill. Several models were applied to correlate chemical composition in samples with the NIR spectral data by means of principal components regression (PCR) or partial least square (PLS) algorithms. Calibration models were built and validated by using all the spectral data and cross-validation methodology. The rc 2 values for the best calibration models for quantification of glucan, xylan, MeGlcA contents and pulp yield were between 0.71–0.92. The model was validated using a set of external samples. The amount of glucan (64–77%), xylan (12–18%), and MeGlcA (204–363 mmol kg pulp–1) in pulps were predicted with a root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP) of 0.91%, 0.46%, and 15.21% for glucan, xylan, and MeGlcA, respectively. Pulp yield (in the range of 46–70%) was also predicted with good accuracy with a RMSEP of 1.63%. These results suggest that glucan, xylan, MeGlcA composition, and pulp yield in kraft pulps of E. globulus can be adequately estimated by NIR spectroscopy for laboratory or industrial applications. NIR predictions can also provide useful and cost-effective tools for the rapid screening of large numbers of samples.  相似文献

Official statistics data show that in many countries the population is aging. In addition, there are several illnesses and disabilities that also affect a small sector of the population. In recent years, researchers and medical foundations are working in order to develop systems based on new technologies and enhance the quality of life of them. One of the cheapest ways is to take advantage of the features provided by the smartphones. Nowadays, the development of reduced size smartphones, but with high processing capacity, has increased dramatically. We can take profit of the sensors placed in smartphones in order to monitor disabled and elderly people. In this paper, we propose a smart collaborative system based on the sensors embedded in mobile devices, which permit us to monitor the status of a person based on what is happening in the environment, but comparing and taking decisions based on what is happening to its neighbors. The proposed protocol for the mobile ad hoc network and the smart system algorithm are described in detail. We provide some measurements showing the decisions taken for several common cases and we also show the performance of our proposal when there is a medium size group of disabled or elderly people. Our proposal can also be applied to take care of children in several situations.  相似文献

A systematic approach for the design of two‐stage class AB CMOS unity‐gain buffers is proposed. It is based on the inclusion of a class AB operation to class A Miller amplifier topologies in unity‐gain negative feedback by a simple technique that does not modify quiescent currents, supply requirements, noise performance, or static power. Three design examples are fabricated in a 0.5 µm CMOS process. Measurement results show slew rate improvement factors of approximately 100 for the class AB buffers versus their class A counterparts for the same quiescent power consumption (< 200 µW).  相似文献
