[1-14C]Linoleic acid was incubated with a whole homogenate preparation from potato stolons. The reaction product contained four
major labeled compounds, i.e., the α-ketol 9-hydroxy-10-oxo-12(Z)-octadecenoic acid (59%), the epoxy alcohol 10(S),11(S)-epoxy-9(S)-hydroxy-12(Z)-octadecenoic acid (19%), the divinyl ether colneleic acid (3%), and a new cyclopentenone (13%). The structure of the last-mentioned
compound was determined by chemical and spectral methods to be 2-oxo-5-pentyl-3-cyclopentene-1-octanoic acid (trivial name,
10-oxo-11-phytoenoic acid). Steric analysis demonstrated that the relative configuration of the two side chains attached to
the five-membered ring was cis, and that the compound was a racemate comprising equal parts of the 9(R), 13(R) and 9(S), 13(S) enantiomers. Experiments in which specific trapping products of the two intermediates 9(S)-hydroperoxy-10(E), 12(Z)-octadecadienoic acid and 9(S), 10-epoxy-10, 12(Z)-octadecadienoic acid were isolated and characterized demonstrated the presence of 9-lipoxygenase and allene oxide synthase
activities in the tissue preparation used. The allene oxide generated from linoleic acid by action of these enzymes was further
converted into the cyclopentenone and α-ketol products by cyclization and hydrolysis, respectively. Incubation of [1-14C]linolenic acid with the preparation of potato stolons afforded 2-oxo-5-[2′(Z)-pentenyl]-3-cyclopentene-1-octanoic acid (trivial name, 10-oxo-11, 15(Z)-phytodienoic acid), i.e., an isomer of the jasmonate precursor 12-oxo-10, 15(Z)-phytodienoic acid. Quantitative determination of 10-oxo-11-phytoenoic acid in linoleic acid-supplied homogenates of different
parts of the potato plant showed high levels in roots and stolons, lower levels in developing tubers, and no detectable levels

A preparation route for TiN/Al2 O3 laminate composites has been described. A water-based process using Al2 O3 and TiN slurries with solids contents of 40 and 35 vol%, respectively, was used to make TiN and Al2 O3 tapes. The removal of the binder was monitored by weight-loss measurements in a thermogravimetry unit. Bodies composed of Al2 O3 and TiN tapes were densified at temperatures of 1400° and 1500°C using the Spark Plasma Sintering® (SPS) technique. Densities of >98% of the theoretical densities were approached. Crack-free and almost fully densified TiN/Al2 O3 compacts were prepared by heating the burned-out green bodies to the final sintering temperature (1500°C) at a rate of 100°C/min, and with a holding time of 5–10 min, under a pressure of 75 MPa. The microstructures of the obtained compacts were studied using scanning electron microscopy. Grain sizes in the sintered Al2 O3 and TiN compacts were similar to those of the precursor powders. Hardness and indentation fracture toughness were measured at room temperature, and the monolithic compacts as well as the laminate composites exhibited anisotropic mechanical behavior; i.e., the cracks propagated much more easily in a direction parallel to the laminas than perpendicular to them. 相似文献

It has previously been determined that (13S,9Z,11E)-13-hydroperoxy-9,11-octadecadienoic acid was mainly converted into (13S,9Z,11E)-13-hydroxy-9,11-octadecadienoic acid by 5 N KHO with preservation of the stereochemistry of the reactant [Simpson, T.D.,
and Gardner, H.W. (1993)Lipids 28, 325–330]. In addition, about 20–25% of the reactant was converted into several unknown by-products. In the present work
it was confirmed that the stereochemistry was conserved during the hydroperoxy-diene to hydroxydiene transformation, but also,
novel by-products were identified. It was found that after only 40 min reaction (9Z)-13-oxo-trans-11,12-epoxy-9-octadecenoic acid accumulated to as much as 7% of the total. Later, (9Z)-13-oxo-trans-11,12-epoxy-9-octadecenoic acid began to disappear, and several other compounds continued to increase in yield. Two of these
compounds, 2-butyl-3,5-tetradecadienedioic acid and 2-butyl-4-hydroxy-5-tetradecenedioic acid, were shown to originate from
(9Z)-13-oxo-trans-11,12-epoxy-9-octadecenoic acid, and they accumulated up to 2–3% each after 4 to 6 h. Some other lesser products included
11-hydroxy-9,12-heptadecadienoic acid, 3-hydroxy-4-tridecenedioic acid, 13-oxo-9,11-octadecadienoic acid and 12,13-epoxy-11-hydroxy-9-octadecenoic
acid. Except for the latter two, most or all of the compounds could have originated from Favorskii rearrangement of the early

Nonlinear systems can be probed by driving them with two or more pure tones while measuring the intermodulation products of the drive tones in the response. We describe a digital lockin analyzer which is designed explicitly for this purpose. The analyzer is implemented on a field-programmable gate array, providing speed in analysis, real-time feedback, and stability in operation. Matrix models are ubiquitous for constraint problems. Many such problems have a matrix of variables $\mathcal{M}$ , with the same constraint C defined by a finite-state automaton $\mathcal{A}$ on each row of $\mathcal{M}$ and a global cardinality constraint $\mathit{gcc}$ on each column of $\mathcal{M}$ . We give two methods for deriving, by double counting, necessary conditions on the cardinality variables of the $\mathit{gcc}$ constraints from the automaton $\mathcal{A}$ . The first method yields linear necessary conditions and simple arithmetic constraints. The second method introduces the cardinality automaton, which abstracts the overall behaviour of all the row automata and can be encoded by a set of linear constraints. We also provide a domain consistency filtering algorithm for the conjunction of lexicographic ordering constraints between adjacent rows of $\mathcal{M}$ and (possibly different) automaton constraints on the rows. Although obesity and high levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) are well-known risk factors for cardiovascular disease, the precise role(s) of different LDL constituents in obesity has not been explored. In the present study, we compared the LDL proteome of healthy control adults (body mass index<25) and obese subjects (body mass index>30). LDL was isolated by density-gradient ultracentrifugation and proteins were separated with 2-D PAGE, quantified, and identified by peptide mass fingerprinting using MALDI-TOF MS. A new LDL-associated protein was identified as transthyretin and found to be significantly more abundant in LDL from the obese subjects. In addition, LDL from the obese subjects contained relatively more α(1) -antitrypsin, apo J, apo C-II, than LDL from controls, and also more of an acidic isoform (pI/Mr; 5.2/23 100) of apo A-I. On the other hand, the relative amounts of apo A-IV and the major isoform of apo A-I (pI/Mr; 5.3/23 100) were significantly less in LDL from the obese subjects. Apo E was less and non-sialylated apo C-III more abundant in LDL from obese men than control men, while there were no such differences between LDL from obese and control women. These findings illustrate that obesity is not only associated with increased LDL-cholesterol levels but also with alterations in the LDL protein composition. The presence of transthyretin in LDL from obese subjects may reflect over-nutrition and affect the lipid metabolism in obesity. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate whether there are differences in technique between young adults with and without musculoskeletal symptoms when using a mobile phone for texting and whether there are differences in muscle activity and kinematics between different texting techniques. A total of 56 young adults performed a standardised texting task on a mobile phone. Their texting techniques were registered using an observation protocol. The muscular activity in six muscles in the right forearm/hand and both shoulders were registered by surface electromyography and the thumb abduction/adduction and flexion/extension were registered using a biaxial electrogoniometer. Differences in texting techniques were found between the symptomatic and the asymptomatic group, with a higher proportion of sitting with back support and forearm support and with a neutral head position in the asymptomatic group. Differences in muscle activity and kinematics were also found between different texting techniques. The differences in texting technique between symptomatic and asymptomatic subjects cannot be explained by them having symptoms but may be a possible contribution to their symptoms. STATEMENT OF RELEVANCE: There has been a dramatically increased use of mobile phones for texting especially among young people during the last years. A better understanding of the physical exposure associated with the intensive use is important in order to prevent the development of musculoskeletal disorders and decreased work ability related to this use. 相似文献
