This paper analyzes the use of computer graphics images as an architectural assessment tool. The characteristics of such images as an architectural simulation tool are discussed and their reliability as an assessment tool is evaluated and compared with that of traditional hand-generated perspective drawings. This paper reports surface electrical properties of zirconia studied using work function measurements in the temperature range 297–1173 K during oxidation. It was found that surface preparation procedures, such as grinding and polishing, result in a change of its reactivity with oxygen. The effects produced by the preparation can be removed during thermal treatment at 1473 K.  相似文献

The characteristics of the mass spectra of sixty steroids were investigated using atmospheric pressure chemical ionization-mass spectrometry (APCI-MS). In APCI-MS, the drift voltage and nebulizer temperature affected the appearance of molecular ions. Solvent adducted ions [M+H+CH3CN]+ and [M+H+H2O]+ were decreased with an increase in drift voltage. The optimum drift voltage differed slightly for each steroid. These sixty steroids were divided into two groups according to their mass spectra profiles: one having a carbonyl group at position 3 together with a double bond at position 4 (group A) and the other bearing a hydroxyl group at the 3 position (group B). In group A, the predominant peak observed corresponded to the protonated molecular ion [M+H]+. The fragment ion corresponding to the elimination of CH2OH, COCH3 and/or COCH2OH from the steroid skeleton appeared as a base peak in some steroids of group A. In group B, predominantly [M+H-H2O]+ and/or [M+H-2H2O]+ ion(s), originating from the loss of water molecules, were observed. Other major ions in this group were the protonated molecular ions. Like other chemical ionization mass spectrometry, the mass spectrum of each steroid was very simple. These results suggest that APCI-MS is a suitable tool for the determination of the mass number of polar, nonvolatile and thermolabile steroids without derivatization.  相似文献

The excitatory effects of veratridine on slowly adapting pulmonary stretch receptors (SARs) were studied before and after administration of ouabain (a Na+-K+ ATPase inhibitor) in anesthetized, artificially ventilated rabbits after vagus nerve section. Administration of veratridine (40 microg/kg) stimulated SAR activity but did not significantly alter tracheal pressure. Administration of ouabain (50 microg/kg) initially stimulated SAR activity during both inflation and deflation, but after 20 min, two different types of SAR responses were observed; one became silent at the peak, of inflation only, and the other maintained excitatory activity during both inflation and deflation phases. Veratridine usually inhibited SAR activity in ouabain-treated animals, irrespective of the difference of ouabain effects. These results suggest that veratridine-induced stimulation of SARs is closely related to the change in the Na+ ion gradient, which is regulated by Na+ pump activity.  相似文献

The preventive effects of the dietary germinated barley foodstuff (GBF), which increases the contents of protein, RNA and DNA in the intestinal mucosa of rats on the mucosal damage and diarrhea were examined in a methotrexate (MTX)-induced enteritis model in rats. Sprague-Dawley rats intraperitoneally injected with MTX (10 mg/kg body weight) were used as an enteritis model. After consumption of diets containing GBF, glutamine or a glutamine-rich stuff (gluten), mucosal damage, contents of mucosal protein, RNA and DNA, myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity, bacterial translocation and DNA synthetic activity in the small intestine were assessed. GBF more effectively prevented diarrhea and mucosal damages, and increased mucosal protein, DNA and RNA contents than glutamine or gluten. The bacterial trans-location and elevation of MPO activity induced by MTX were depressed only by the consumption of GBF. GBF has a potential as therapeutic diet to decrease the adverse effects of anti-cancer chemotherapy.  相似文献

The growth of graphene on Cu substrates by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PE-CVD) was investigated and its growth mechanism was discussed. At a substrate temperature of 500 °C, formation of graphene was found to precede the growth of carbon nanowalls (CNWs), which are often fabricated by PE-CVD. The growth of graphene was investigated in various conditions, changing the plasma power, gas pressures, and the substrate temperature. The catalytic nature of Cu also affects the growth of monolayer graphene at high substrate temperatures, while the growth at low temperatures and growth of multilayer graphene are dominated mostly by radicals generated in the plasma.  相似文献

We examined the in vivo anti-tumor activity of the benzoic acid derivative, TAC-101 (4-[3,5-bis(trimethylsilyl)benzamido] benzoic acid), for intrahepatic spread of JHH-7 human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells and its mechanism of action. Oral administration of TAC-101 markedly inhibited liver tumor of JHH-7 cells and prolonged the life-span of tumor-bearing mice without affecting the body weight. The life-prolonging effect of TAC-101 was more effective than that of other anti-cancer agents including CDDP, 5-FU, and CPT-11 (T/C (%) of life-span; 181 to 219, 128, 133, and 142%, respectively). In vitro, TAC-101 at the concentration of more than 10 microM showed direct cytotoxicity against JHH-7 cells caused by induction of apoptosis. Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) enhanced the invasive ability of JHH-7 cells without affecting the cell viability. Non-cytotoxic concentrations of TAC-101 inhibited the JHH-7 invasion induced by HGF and down-regulated the expression of c-MET protein in a concentration-dependent manner. In summary, these results suggest that TAC-101 would be useful for a new class of therapeutic agents and that it may improve the prognosis of patients with liver-tumors including metastasizing tumor and HCC.  相似文献

We investigated the role of the brain angiotensin II (Ang II) receptor subtypes AT1 and AT2 in the development of fever induced in freely moving rats by administration of interleukin-1beta (IL-1beta) or prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). Intraperitoneal (i.p.) injection of IL-1beta (2 microg/kg) induced a marked fever of rapid onset. Intracerebroventricular (i.c.v.) administration, immediately before IL-1beta injection, of a selective AT2 receptor antagonist, CGP42112A (5 or 20 microg), reduced the fever in a dose-related manner. Rats given an i.c.v. injection of PGE2 (200 ng) developed a monophasic fever response that was attenuated by i.c.v. treatment with CGP42112A (10 or 20 microg) in a dose-related manner. The IL-1beta (2 microg/kg i.p.)- and PGE2 (200 ng i.c.v.)-induced fevers were unchanged by the selective AT1 receptor antagonist losartan (60 microg i.c.v.). Treatment with exogenous Ang II (100 ng i.c.v.), which itself had no effect on resting body temperature, resulted in an enhancement of the PGE2 (50 ng i.c.v.)-induced fever. The administration of CGP42112A (2 and 5 microg) into the rostral hypothalamus (preoptic/anterior hypothalamic region) reduced fevers induced by IL-1beta (2 microg/kg i.p.) or intrahypothalamic (i.h.) PGE2 (100 ng). Moreover, i.h. injection of Ang II (25 ng) augmented the PGE2 (25 ng i.h.)-induced fever. Finally, the i.h. administration, 15 min before i.h. PGE2 (100 ng), of the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor lisinopril (5 and 10 microg) attenuated the PGE2-induced fever. These results suggest that brain AT2 receptors contribute to the induction of such febrile responses in rats.  相似文献

Pancreatic adenocarcinomas are known to have a high incidence of K-ras gene mutations. Differential diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and chronic pancreatitis sometimes presents a clinical dilemma. We recently developed a highly sensitive and specific polymerase chain reaction capable of detecting 3-30 copies of mutant K-ras genes harboring codon 12 single base changes in the presence of 300,000 normal copies. Mutant ras genes were detected in DNA purified from pancreatic juice from all 6 cases of pancreatic adenocarcinoma and 1 case of intraductal papillary neoplasms of the pancreas. In 2 of 6 other cases with pancreatic adenocarcinoma, circulating metastatic cells were detected in DNA purified from peripheral blood. Activated ras genes were not found in pancreatic juice of three control cases (chronic pancreatitis and choledocholithiasis) or in the peripheral blood of two patients with insulinomas. Notable conclusions of this study are that there can be significant levels of shed tumor cells in peripheral blood and an even higher number in pancreatic juice. In addition, two different K-ras mutations were found in some patients.  相似文献
