1.5% Capsaicin (Cap) or Vehicle was respectively used to treat the right or left sciatic nerve in 20 Sprague-Dawley rats. On the seventh day, the 20 rats were at random divided into electroacupuncture (EA) group and non-EA group, the spinal cord corresponding to the afferent segments of sciatic nerve was taken out for observing the changes of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity and [3H]-quinuelidinylbenzylate (QNB) binding sites in the spinal dorsal horn (SDH). The results were as follows: (1) EA "Huantiao" could enhance AChE activity in the SDH and decrease [3H]-QNB binding sites; (2) Cap treating sciatice nerve could weaken AChE activity in the SDH and merease [3H]-QNB binding sites; (3) Cap treatment could inhibit or partially inhibit the actions of EA as above. The results indicated that ACh participated in the primary afferent of acupuncture information and might exist in Cap-sensitive neurons.  相似文献

RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES: We wanted to improve determination of the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) with plasma clearance techniques because the alternative-renal clearance techniques-may involve inaccurate urine sampling or risk of urinary tract infection when bladder catheterization becomes necessary. Therefore, we compared the renal and plasma clearances of iohexol and chromium-51-ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (51Cr-EDTA), as well as endogenous creatinine clearance, in 19 normal pigs using different techniques. METHODS: After an intravenous bolus injection of the GFR markers, 16 plasma samples were used to plot the marker concentrations versus time for 4.5 hr. Urine was collected during nine 30-min periods. Plasma clearance was calculated by dividing the dose of marker with the area under the plasma concentration curve (AUC) from the time of injection to infinity using one-compartment (ClAUC-slope) and three-compartment (ClAUC-3comp) models. The renal clearance was calculated by dividing the amount of marker excreted in the urine in a period with the AUC in the same period. This AUC was determined by integrating the total area in the period (Clren adv)--our reference method representing the "true" GFR--or by using the arithmetic mean of the plasma concentrations of the marker at the beginning and end of the urine collection period (Clren simple). Creatinine clearance was determined according to Clren simple. RESULTS: Renal clearances of iohexol and 51Cr-EDTA were significantly higher than creatinine clearance (P = .0002). There was no significant difference between the renal clearances of iohexol and 51Cr-EDTA or between their plasma clearances. The two mathematical methods of calculating the renal clearance of iohexol were highly correlated (rs = .99), as were the two methods of calculating its plasma clearance (rs = .95). Because of the extrarenal clearance of the markers, the plasma clearance methods for iohexol and 51Cr-EDTA always overestimated the true GFR. ClAUC-3comp was the method closest to the true GFR. For iohexol, the median overestimation of the GFR was higher with ClAUC-slope when early plasma samples (30-120 min) after injection of the marker were used (5.5 ml.min-1.10 kg-1) than when late samples (180-270 min) were used (4.0 ml.min-1.10 kg-1). After subtracting the median extrarenal clearances of iohexol and 51Cr-EDTA (previously determined in nephrectomized pigs) from their plasma clearances (ClAUC-3comp), the median overestimation of the true GFR was reduced from 2.0 to 1.1 ml.min-1.10 kg-1 with iohexol and from 2.1 to 1.3 ml.min-1.10 kg-1 with 51Cr-EDTA. CONCLUSION: GFR determination with plasma clearance techniques can be improved in three- and one-compartment models by taking late plasma samples and by subtracting the extrarenal plasma clearance of the species. One-compartment models can be improved by determining a correction formula in the species for the early parts of the decay curve of the plasma concentration of the marker.  相似文献

The results of a study of the distribution of growth dislocations revealed on different faces of L-arginine phosphate monohydrate (LAP) crystals by selective etching in relation to the growth conditions of the crystals are described. It was found that (1) the dislocation density, , on a face is the highest in its central regions and depends on the supersaturation used for growth, and that (2) on different faces is different. The observations are discussed from the standpoint of the mechanism of generation of dislocations at the seed-crystal interface in the initial stages of regeneration of the seed and at the crystal-medium interface due to the formation of bunches of growth layers on the growing crystal faces during their development.  相似文献

LytA amidase is the best known bacterial autolysin. It breaks down the N-acetylmuramoyl-L-alanine bonds in the peptidoglycan backbone of Streptococcus pneumoniae and requires the presence of choline residues in the cell-wall teichoic acids for activity. Genetic experiments have supported the hypothesis that its 36-kDa chain has evolved by the fusion of two independent modules: the NH2-terminal module, responsible for the catalytic activity, and the COOH-terminal module, involved in the attachment to the cell wall. The structural organization of LytA amidase and of its isolated COOH-terminal module (C-LytA) and the variations induced by choline binding have been examined by differential scanning calorimetry and analytical ultracentrifugation. Deconvolution of calorimetric curves have revealed a folding of the polypeptide chain in several independent or quasi-independent cooperative domains. Elementary transitions in C-LytA are close but not identical to those assigned to the COOH-terminal module in the complete amidase, particularly in the absence of choline. These results indicate that the NH2-terminal region of the protein is important for attaining the native tertiary fold of the COOH terminus. Analytical ultracentrifugation studies have shown that LytA exhibits a monomer <--> dimer association equilibrium, through the COOH-terminal part of the molecule. Dimerization is regulated by choline interaction and involves the preferential binding of two molecules of choline per dimer. Sedimentation velocity experiments give frictional ratios of 1.1 for C-LytA monomer and 1.4 for C-LytA and LytA dimers; values that deviated from that of globular rigid particles. When considered together, present results give evidence that LytA amidase might be described as an elongated molecule consisting of at least four domains per subunit (two per module) designated here in as N1, N2, C1, and C2. Intersubunit cooperative interactions through the C2 domain in LytA dimer occur under all experimental conditions, while C-LytA requires the saturation of low affinity choline binding sites. The relevance of the structural features deduced here for LytA amidase is examined in connection with its biological function.  相似文献

Intensive care units have been considered stress generating areas. Knowing the causes why this happens will allow us to take specific measures to prevent or minimize it. This study has been performed with the aim to identify stress raising factors, as they are perceived by intensive care patients. The study has been performed in 49 patients most of whom were being attended in postoperatory control. The valuation of the degree of stress was performed using the "Scale of Environmental Stressors in Intensive Care" by Ballard in 1981, modified and adapted to our environment, with a result of 43 items distributed in six groups; Immobilization, Isolation, Deprivation of sleep, Time-spacial disorientation, Sensorial deprivation and overestimulation, and depersonalization and loss of autocontrol. The level of stress perceived by patients was low. The factors considered as most stressing were those related to physical aspects; presence of tubes in nose and mouth, impossibility to sleep and presence of noise, whereas those less stressing referred to Nursing attention. We conclude that patients perceive ICU as a little stressing place in spite of the excessive noise, remark the presence of invasive tubes and the difficulty to sleep as the most stressing factors, and in the same way, express a high degree of satisfaction about the attention received.  相似文献

Assessment of the hemodynamic and anatomic results following balloon angioplasty of discrete native coarctation of the aorta, with particular attention to "remodeling," has required repeat cardiac catheterization and angiography, which is invasive and has limited resolution. Eight patients with hypertension and discrete native coarctation with an otherwise normally developed aortic arch underwent angioplasty at 5.0 +/- 6.8 years of age. Angiographic cross-sectional areas of the aorta indexed to body surface area at the isthmus (I), coarctation site (C), and 1 cm distal to the coarctation site (Cd) pre- and postangioplasty were compared with MRI-indexed cross-sectional areas 18 +/- 10 months (MRI-1) and 35 +/- 11 months (MRI-2) postangioplasty. From preangioplasty to MRI-2, the isthmus was smaller (149 +/- 22 versus 127 +/- 27 mm2/m2; p < 0. 05). The coarctation site was larger postangioplasty (25 +/- 9 versus 116 +/- 40 mm2/m2; p < 0.001) with continued growth at latest follow-up (116 +/- 40 versus 164 +/- 36 mm2/m2; p < 0.01). The segment 1 cm distal to the coarctation site continued to decrease in area at latest follow-up (267 +/- 78 versus 163 +/- 38 mm2/m2; p < 0. 001). I versus C versus Cd at MRI-2 were similar, whereas postangioplasty and MRI-1 cross-sectional area measurements were significantly different. Following angioplasty of discrete native coarctation, the aorta becomes more uniform or undergoes "remodeling." Noninvasive MRI is an effective means of evaluating the anatomic result following balloon angioplasty, obviating the need for repeated invasive cardiac catheterizations.  相似文献

A registry was set up by the national college of cardiologists practicing in general hospitals in February 1993. The data concerned mode of admission, demographic details, initial clinical and haemodynamic evaluation and hospital outcome. Special attention was given to the electrocardiographic changes before and, in patients receiving thrombolytic therapy, after treatment. An analysis of predictive factors for mortality was performed both in the group of patients "revascularised" and in the group treated conventionally. One thousand and twenty three cases from 327 centres were analysed. There were 1292 men and 531 women, with an average age of 67.9 years. The average time interval from onset of symptoms to hospital admission was 5 h 30 min, 56.8% of patients arriving within 6 hours. 36.4% of the population underwent thrombolysis or angioplasty, 75% of patients under 75 years of age admitted before the 5th hours underwent a procedure of myocardial revascularisation. The hospital mortality was 14%, 8.7% in those revascularised and 17% in patients treated conventionally. Factors predictive of mortality were age, female gender, Killip Classes III or IV, systolic blood pressure of less than 100 mmHg, heart rate of more than 100/min and contraindications of thrombolysis. The maximum ST depression, the sum of ST depression, the sum of ST elevation and depression, were also significant predictive factors of a fatal hospital outcome in the whole population group and in patients treated conventionally. In the reperfused group, only the initial sum of ST elevation and depression was predictive of mortality: 120 minutes after the beginning of thrombolysis, the sum of ST elevations and of elevations and depressions was predictive of twice the mortality when the values exceeded 0.6 mv and 1.4 mv respectively.  相似文献

Food allergies are causal factors for atopic dermatitis (AD) in 50% in infancy, in 20 to 30% in childhood, and only in 10 to 15% after puberty and in adulthood. Cow's milk, egg, fish, wheat, soy, nuts and citrus-fruits are the most proven allergens. Pseudoallergens, especially food-additiva, have to be regarded too. For the proof of the clinical relevance that food allergy is causing AD a positive result of elimination and provocation has to be required. When by these diagnostic procedure a special food is found as causing the AD it has to be eliminated in the diet of this patient. In severe cases of AD semi-elementary respectively few foods diets may be necessary. However in most cases of AD the "diet of choice" is an age related normal nutrition. To delay respectively to avoid the manifestation of atopy special recommendations for the nutrition of high risk newborns and infants (especially long breast feeding, late solid feeding) should be considered.  相似文献

Temperatures for primary crystallization of Na3AlF6 in multicomponent electrolyte systems of interest for the aluminum electrolysis process were determined by thermal analysis. The results are presented as binary and quasibinary diagrams and discussed in view of the literature data. Moreover, we derive lower bounds on the crossing number of any graph on a surface of genusg 0.
