Effects of magnetic field and hydrostatic pressure on martensitic transformations in some ferrous and nonferrous alloys have
been studied. The studies clarified the effects of magnetic field and hydrostatic pressure on martensitic transformation start
temperature, magnetoelastic martensitic transformation, morphology of martensites and transformation kinetics of athermal
and isothermal transformations. That is, transformation start temperatures of all the ferrous alloys examined increase with
increasing magnetic field, but those of non-ferrous, such as Ti-Ni and Cu-Al-Ni shape memory alloys, are not affected. On
the other hand, transformation start temperature decreases with increasing hydrostatic pressure in some ferrous alloys, but
increases in Cu-Al-Ni alloys. The magnetic field and hydrostatic pressure dependences of the martensitic start temperature
are in good agreement with those calculated by the equations proposed by our group. In the work on the Fe-Ni-Co-Ti alloy,
we found that magnetoelastic martensitic transformation appear. In addition, several martensite plates grow nearly parallel
to the direction of applied magnetic field in the specimen of an Fe-Ni alloy single crystal. Moreover, we found that the isothermal
process in an Fe-Ni-Mn alloy changes to the athermal one under magnetic field and the athermal process changes to the isothermal
one under hydrostatic pressure. Based on the facts, a phenomenological theory is constructed, which unifies the two transformation

The oxidation behavior in air at 1473 K, and sulfidation behavior in a H2S–H2 gas mixture with a sulfur partial pressure of 10–2 Pa at 973 K of Al–Re coated CMSX-4 were studied. Investigation on the sulfidation behavior of the Re-coated CMSX-4 was carried out in a H2S–H2 gas mixture with a sulfur partial pressure of 10–2 Pa at 973 K. The experimental results show that a Re-rich alloy layer was formed between an -Al2O3 layer and the inner concentration zone of Ta and Ti for the CMSX-4 single crystal alloy with an Al–Re coating after oxidation. The Re-rich alloy layer containing Cr, W, Ni, Co, and Mo effectively inhibited the outward diffusion of alloying elements and the inward diffusion of Al. The Al/Re-coated CMSX-4 single crystal alloy had excellent sulfidation resistance; the Re-rich alloy layer, containing W, Ti, Ta, and Mo, which formed during the sulfidation process and located between the alumina scale and the CMSX-4 base alloy, plays a role in inhibiting the outward diffusion of alloying elements. The sulfidation resistance of CMSX-4 single-crystal alloy is greatly improved by a Re coating on the CMSX-4 alloy surface; this is attributed to a Re–Cr–W alloy layer that retarded the outward diffusion of cations and the oxide layer containing Ta, Ti, and Al, which inhibited the inward penetration of sulfur. 相似文献

Bi0.5 Na0.5 TiO3 (BNT) and 0.94Bi0.5 Na0.5 TiO3 ·0.06BaTiO3 (BNT–BT) bulk ceramics with extensive 〈100〉 texture were prepared by the reactive-templated grain growth method, using platelike Bi4 Ti3 O12 (BIT) particles as templates for BNT. Calcined compacts were composed of matrix grains with random orientation and 〈100〉-oriented grains transformed from aligned BIT particles, and the texture developed by the growth of oriented grains during sintering. Miscibility has been investigated in blends of poly(butylene succinate) (PBSU) and poly(vinyl phenol) (PVPh) by differential scanning calorimetry in this work. PBSU is miscible with PVPh as shown by the existence of single composition dependent glass transition temperature over the entire composition range. In addition, the polymer–polymer interaction parameter, obtained from the melting depression of PBSU using the Nishi–Wang equation, is composition dependent, and its value is always negative. This indicates that PBSU/PVPh blends are thermodynamically miscible in the melt. Preliminary morphology study of PBSU/PVPh blends was also studied by optical microscopy (OM). OM experiments show the spherulites of PBSU become larger with the PVPh content, indicative of a decrease in the nucleation density, and the coarseness of PBSU spherulites increases too with increasing the PVPh content in the blends. 相似文献

The effect of particle agglomeration on sintering has been studied by slipcasting suspensions with pH values ranging from 2 to 11. The rate of densification has been found to depend on the degree of agglomeration. Complete dispersion of alumina primary particles has not been attained through adjustment of pH of suspensions, and agglomerates also remained in the best-dispersed suspension. Elimination of the agglomerates by sedimentation lowered the densification temperature of slip-cast compacts. The grain size-density curve is a function of temperature. This paper describes a new nondestructive technique for detecting internal stresses in coatings using time resolved fluorescence. The measurement principle is based upon an experimental result that the decay time of fluorescence from poly(3-octylthiophene), P3OT, dispersed in uniaxially-stretched polymer films decreases with increasing tensile stress acting on the films. Internal stresses in the clear coat and in the base coat of a multilayer structure, which was composed of electrodeposited coat, surface coat, base coat, and clear coat, were estimated from the decay time of fluorescence from P3OT in both coats. The order of internal stresses in the clear coat and base coat of the multilayer system was 1 MPa. When the coatings were piled up, the internal stress decreased as the distance from a metal substrate was increased. It was found that moisture and temperature influenced internal stresses in the clear coat rather than in the base coat. Internal stress in the clear coat, which was one layer coated on a metal substrate, was measured by the traditional bimetallic method or by the time resolved fluorescence technique. Comparing both methods, it was concluded that the time resolved fluorescence technique gave reliable values for internal stresses in coatings. 相似文献

The behavior of carbon particles from 0.01 to diameters in natural convection flow field of air was numerically studied including the effect of the magnetic field and the Brownian motion. One thousand carbon particles were released randomly in a vertical cylindrical enclosure whose height is equal to its radius. The enclosure was heated from below and cooled from above to produce the bulk flow of the natural convection of air in the atmospheric condition. A coil with electric current was set coaxially at the enclosure bottom to produce a magnetic field. Sample computations are carried out for the enclosure of 3 cm high and maximum magnetic field is 2.8 T or less. The results show that the natural convection of air is enhanced by the magnetic field. With the increase in the magnetic strength, more particles go along the fluid streak lines. With the increase in the particle size, more particles get together at the vortex center and cluster. 相似文献

The changes in structure and mechanical properties of melt spun polypropylene filaments were determined as the filaments were successively (i) drawn, (ii) twisted, (iii) annealed, and (iv) untwisted. Filaments spun to two different melt draw down levels were studied. The effects of draw temperature and draw ratio, extent of twist, annealing temperature, and the extent of untwisting were examined. Melt spun and twisted filaments (draw ratio of 1) were also considered. Structural characterization techniques used in this study include wide angle (WAXS) and small angle (SAXS) diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), birefringence and density measurement. Drawing increased crystalline orientation and at low temperatures disrupted the monoclinic unit. cell existing in the melt spun fibers. The drawing produced considerable fibrillation under all conditions even when carried out at 120°C. The fibrillation quid void formation due to low temperature drawing was more pronounced. The variation of WAXS patterns and mechanical properties of twisted drawn filaments was interpreted by presuming that the fibrils act in a manner analogous to that of the filaments in a continuous filament twisted yarn. In the case of incompletely drawn filaments the effect of additional drawing occurring during twistin must be considered. Twisted fibers annealed at 150°C sowed a drastic reduction in tensile properties, while those annealed at 125°C did not set the twist and caused the fibers to tend to untwist. Annealing at 140°C appeared to give satisfactory heat setting. Annealing of cold drawn and cold drawn and twisted fibers increased the density, removed many defects and reformed a well defined monoclinic crystal structure and a lamellar morphology. Untwisting of heat set filaments tended to give back the properties of hot drawn fibers. In some cases, however, the opening of cracks was noted. 相似文献

Water mist (diamagnetic) flow in a superconducting magnet of 10 T at various angles is studied experimentally and numerically. Water mist is produced by ultrasonic atomizers and fed into a cylindrical Plexiglas pipe (inner diameter, 90 mm) placed in a bore space of an inclined superconducting magnet. The water mist is found to stop at some locations in the magnet at inclined angles ψ ≤ π/6. At ψ ≥ π/4, the amount of mist flowing out of the other opening of the pipe increases with an increase in inclined angle. In the computation of this phenomenon, water mist is simulated with 1000 water droplets of 3 μm diameter. Brownian motion is considered and the Langevin equation is solved. The numerical results show that at ψ ≤ π/6, most of the water droplets accumulate above the magnetic coil. However, at ψ ≥ π/4, with an increase in inclined angle, the number of water droplets passing through the magnetic coil increases. 相似文献

The autoxidation processes of the cis-9,trans-11 (c9,t11) and trans-10,cis-12 (t10,c12) isomers of CLA were separately observed at ca. 0% RH and different temperatures. The t10,c12 CLA oxidized faster than the c9,t11 isomer at all tested temperatures. The first half of the oxidation process of t10,c12 CLA obeyed an autocatalytic-type rate expression, but the latter half followed first-order kinetics. On the other hand,
the entire oxidation process of c9,t11 CLA could be expressed by the autocatalytic-type rate expression. The apparent activation energies and frequency factors
for the autoxidation of the isomers were estimated from the rate constants obtained at various temperatures based on the Arrhenius
equation. The apparent activation energies for the CLA isomers were greater than those for the nonconjugated n−6 and n−3 PUFA
or their esters. However, the enthalpyentropy compensation held during the autoxidation of both the CLA and PUFA. This suggested
