Abstract— A psychophysical experiment was carried out to assess the perceptual contrast on a large‐sized liquid‐crystal display (LCD) under nine phases of viewing conditions. Based on the results, six contrast models employing different color attributes or the index of just‐noticeable difference (JND) were developed. Their performances were also tested by the visual data of the nine phases, which indicated that the model CQ employing CIECAM02 brightness gives the best performance in predicting visual data under different viewing conditions among those models. A preprocessing step was also proposed to utilize the contrast model CQ conveniently in the practical contrast evaluation of LCDs. 相似文献

This paper deals with the problems of passivity analysis and passivity‐based controller design for Markovian jump systems with both time‐varying delays and norm‐bounded parametric uncertainties. Firstly, new delay‐dependent conditions for the considered system to be passive are obtained by using a mode‐dependent Lyapunov functional and by introducing some slack variables. These conditions are expressed by means of LMIs that are easy to check. It is shown through a numerical example that the obtained passivity conditions are less conservative than the existing ones in the literature. Secondly, the passification problem is investigated. On the basis of the obtained passivity conditions, dynamic output‐feedback controllers are designed, which ensure that the resulting closed‐loop system is passive. In this article, the influence of base resistance on extracting thermal resistance for SiGe heterojunction bipolar transistors is studied and an improved approach for determining the junction temperature and thermal resistance is presented. The proposed method for extracting thermal resistance is based on the temperature sensitivity of the base–emitter (B–E) voltage when the device is biased with a fixed emitter current density. This approach not only takes into account the self‐heating during the different ambient temperature measurement but also revises the empirical equation of B–E voltage due to the influence of base resistance during the power dissipation increment measurement. Results are obtained for devices with different emitter lengths and fingers. Compared with the conventional method, the thermal resistance is about up to 15% improvement for the device with 0.3 × 1.9 μm2 emitter area and 13.8% for the device with 0.3 × 13.9 μm2 emitter area. The aim of this paper is to deal with resource-constrained multiple project scheduling problems (rc-mPSP) under a fuzzy random
environment by a hybrid genetic algorithm with fuzzy logic controller (flc-hGA), to a large-scale water conservancy and hydropower
construction project in the southwest region of China, whose main project is a dam embankment. The objective functions in
this paper are to minimize the total project time (that is the sum of the completion time for all projects) and to minimize
the total tardiness penalty of multiple projects, which is the sum of penalty costs for all the projects. After describing
the problem of the working procedure in the project and presenting the mathematical formulation model of a resource-constrained
project scheduling problem under a fuzzy random environment, we give some definitions and discuss some properties of fuzzy
random variables. Then, a method of solving solution sets of fuzzy random multiple objective programming problems is proposed.
Because traditional optimization techniques could not cope with the rc-mPSP under a fuzzy random environment effectively,
we present a new approach based on the hybrid genetic algorithm (hGA). In order to improve its efficiency, the proposed method
hybridized with the fuzzy logic controller (flc) concept for auto-tuning the GA parameters is presented. For the practical
problems in this paper, flc-hGA is proved the most effective and most appropriate compared with other approaches. The computer
generated results validate the effectiveness of the proposed model and algorithm in solving large-scale practical problems. 相似文献

Complementary metamaterial transmission line for monoband and dual‐band bandpass filters application
A novel composite right‐/left‐handed transmission line (CRLH TL) and its equivalent circuit model are proposed based on cascaded complementary single split ring resonator (CCSSRR). It features an intrinsically balanced wider band and an additional transmission zero above the right‐handed band relative to CRLH TL using complementary single split ring resonator and complementary split ring resonators. Moreover, two single negative (SN) metamaterial (MTM) TLs constructed by using complementary electric inductive‐capacitive resonator on the conductor strip and on the ground, respectively, are researched. Both SN MTM TLs exhibit electric resonance above the fundamental magnetic resonance. For application, a monoband (MB) bandpass filter (BPF) covered WLAN band, and a dual‐band (DB) BPF covered satellite DMB band and WiMAX band are designed, fabricated, and measured. The SN MTM TLs are adopted for the sake of deep and wide out‐of‐band suppression while CRLH MTM TLs using square‐shaped and Sierpinski‐shaped CCSSRR are critical factors of the MB and DB behavior. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper, we study the problem of detecting sudden pedestrian crossings to assist drivers in avoiding accidents. This application has two major requirements: to detect crossing pedestrians as early as possible just as they enter the view of the car-mounted camera and to maintain a false alarm rate as low as possible for practical purposes. Although many current sliding-window-based approaches using various features and classification algorithms have been proposed for image-/video-based pedestrian detection, their performance in terms of accuracy and processing speed falls far short of practical application requirements. To address this problem, we propose a three-level coarse-to-fine video-based framework that detects partially visible pedestrians just as they enter the camera view, with low false alarm rate and high speed. The framework is tested on a new collection of high-resolution videos captured from a moving vehicle and yields a performance better than that of state-of-the-art pedestrian detection while running at a frame rate of 55 fps. 相似文献

We introduce a novel method for synthesizing dance motions that follow the emotions and contents of a piece of music. Our method employs a learning-based approach to model the music to motion mapping relationship embodied in example dance motions along with those motions' accompanying background music. A key step in our method is to train a music to motion matching quality rating function through learning the music to motion mapping relationship exhibited in synchronized music and dance motion data, which were captured from professional human dance performance. To generate an optimal sequence of dance motion segments to match with a piece of music, we introduce a constraint-based dynamic programming procedure. This procedure considers both music to motion matching quality and visual smoothness of a resultant dance motion sequence. We also introduce a two-way evaluation strategy, coupled with a GPU-based implementation, through which we can execute the dynamic programming process in parallel, resulting in significant speedup. To evaluate the effectiveness of our method, we quantitatively compare the dance motions synthesized by our method with motion synthesis results by several peer methods using the motions captured from professional human dancers' performance as the gold standard. We also conducted several medium-scale user studies to explore how perceptually our dance motion synthesis method can outperform existing methods in synthesizing dance motions to match with a piece of music. These user studies produced very positive results on our music-driven dance motion synthesis experiments for several Asian dance genres, confirming the advantages of our method. 相似文献

Full implementation of the Semantic Web requires widespread availability of OWL ontologies. Manual ontology development using current OWL editors remains a tedious and cumbersome task that requires significant understanding of the new ontology language and can easily result in a knowledge acquisition bottleneck. On the other hand, abundant domain knowledge has been specified by existing database schemata such as UML class diagrams. Thus developing an automatic tool for extracting OWL ontologies from existing UML class diagrams is helpful to Web ontology development. In this paper we propose an automatic, semantics-preserving approach for extracting OWL ontologies from existing UML class diagrams. This approach establishes a precise conceptual correspondence between UML and OWL through a semantics-preserving schema translation algorithm. The experiments with our implemented prototype tool, UML2OWL, show that the proposed approach is effective and a fully automatic ontology extraction is achievable. The proposed approach and tool will facilitate the development of Web ontologies and the realization of semantic interoperations between existing Web database applications and the Semantic Web. 相似文献
