Quantifying carotenoid contents has many applications in agriculture, ecology, and health science. Hyperspectral reflectance has been one of the promising tools for this purpose. However, previous studies were based on measurements under relatively low light–stress conditions. Therefore, assessing its robustness by using measurements under various levels of stress is required. In this study, the measurements of reflectance and carotenoid contents were carried out with four shading treatments including open–0%, 35%, 75%, and 90% shading to generate various chlorophyll/carotenoid ratios. Then the performances of 15 published hyperspectral indices and PROSPECT–D inversion were evaluated based on our data set for estimating leaf carotenoid contents. According to the ratio of performance to deviation, RNIR/R510, R720/R521–1, and PROSPECT–D inversion were applicable for this purpose, although calibration of the absorption coefficients was required for PROSPECT–D. Using them, root mean square percentage errors of 4.53–5.46% were achieved. Given that total chlorophyll/carotenoid ratios could be a good indicator for evaluating environmental stress in plants, PROSPECT–D, which also estimates total chlorophyll and anthocyanin contents, could be a strong tool for controlling the qualities of shade-grown tea.  相似文献

The process for electroplating amorphous gold-nickel-tungsten alloy that we developed previously based on the addition of a gold salt to a known amorphous Ni-W electroplating solution was investigated further using the X-ray diffraction (XRD) method for the purpose of quickly surveying the effects of various experimental variables on the microstructure of the alloy. In this system the gold concentration in the plating bath was found to be critical; i.e., when it is either very low or very high, the deposit becomes crystalline to XRD. The deposit composition varies linearly with the mole ratio of Au to Ni in solution, and the alloy deposit is amorphous to XRD when the atomic ratio of Au/Ni in the deposit is between 0.5 and 1.5. At suitable concentrations of the metal ions, the deposit contains essentially no tungsten. By extending the work on the Au-Ni-W system, an amorphous Au-Co alloy plating process was also developed.  相似文献

In this study, flexible transparent hybrid films with low thermal expansion coefficient were prepared by combination of alumina fillers and polymerizable/non-polymerizable surface modifiers with carboxyl group. Four types of alumina fillers with different shape and size were used in this study, and could modify with surface modifiers containing carboxyl groups by electrostatic interaction and disperse homogeneously in resulting hybrid films regardless of the shape and size. So the hybrid films obtained showed high transmittance around 90%T, and it was considered, from transmission electron microscopic analysis, alumina fillers were dispersed at near original filler size, without aggregation. Moreover, thermal mechanical analysis cleared that the use of pillar or fiber type filler is more effective to reduce CTE compared with plate type fillers, especially CTE of hybrid film prepared with fiber type filler was drastically decreased to 17 ppm/K, while the influence by the difference of filler shape/size was not observed on tensile properties, surface hardness. By use of fiber type alumina filler and combination of polymerizable surface modifier and non-polymerizable surface modifier which seems to interact with matrix, for optimizing of the crosslink density, it was possible to reduce CTE, while the good mechanical properties was kept. Finally, hybrid film indicating low CTE value as 19 ppm/K, high flexibility (windable against 0.4 mm radius steel bar), and good tensile properties and surface hardness which were equal to or higher than those of matrix could prepared.  相似文献

Various types of polymers containing tert‐butoxycarbonyl (BOC) moiety as the typical protecting group of functional moieties have been used for the design of stimuli‐responsive polymer materials. In this study, we investigated the heat‐responsive deprotection behavior of BOC‐containing polymers obtained by radical polymerization of 4‐(tert‐butoxycarbonyloxy)styrene (BSt) and copolymerizations of BSt with styrene and methyl acrylate. The deprotection of BOC groups accompanying the evolution of isobutene and carbon dioxide as gaseous products was monitored by thermogravimetric analyses at different temperature circumstances; that is, on heating at a rate of 10 °C/min and under isothermal conditions at various temperatures. The deprotection resulted in a significant decrease in the transmittance of visible light due to the formation of a large number of gas bubbles, that is, foaming, in the polymer films when a heating temperature was close to the glass transition temperature of the used polymer. The potential of BOC‐containing polymers was also evaluated as the heat‐responsive adhesive polymers for dismantlable adhesion. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Plant anatomy was examined for two clarinet reeds made out of Arundo donax by different means of microscopy: light microscopy, low‐energy secondary electron scanning electron microscopy (SEM), backscattered electron SEM, and helium ion microscopy (HiM). The local indentation hardness HIT and Young's modulus EIT of different tissues on their cross sections were measured. A vascular bundle (Vb) (HIT = 60–100 MPa, EIT = 1,500–2,000 MPa) that includes soft tissues of phloem and xylem and a vascular bundle sheath (Bs) (HIT = 300–500 MPa, EIT = ~7,000 MPa) form a pipe of the strong string along the longitudinal direction of the cane. This Vb/Bs string is connected transversally with a net of thin cell‐walls of parenchyma cells (Pa) (HIT = 70–200 MPa, EIT = 2,000–3,000 MPa) that also range along the longitudinal direction of the cane. It was turned out that the acoustic quality of a reed is mainly ascribed to the shape and configuration of Vb and the size of Pa. A reed where Vb bundles with continuous Bs rings are homogeneously distributed with higher proportion among a softer network of small Pa cells enables musical performance.  相似文献

Precious metals (Pt and Pd) and rare earth elements (Ce in the form of CeO2) are typical materials for heterogeneous exhaust‐gas catalysts in automotive systems. However, their limited resources and high market‐driven prices are principal issues in realizing the path toward a more sustainable society. In this regard, herein, a nanoporous NiCuMnO catalyst, which is both abundant and durable, is synthesized by one‐step free dealloying. The catalyst thus developed exhibits catalytic activity and durability for NO reduction and CO oxidation. Microstructure characterization indicates a distinct structural feature: catalytically active Cu/CuO regions are tangled with a stable nanoporous NiMnO network after activation. The results obtained by in situ transmission electron microscopy during NO reduction clearly capture the unique reaction‐induced self‐transformation of the nanostructure. This finding can possibly pave the way for the design of new catalysts for the conversion of exhaust gas based on the element strategy.  相似文献

Metal-atom migration outside from a defective fullerene cage of a metallofullerene Gd@C(82) (Ca@C(82)), where the Gd(3+) (Ca(2+)) ion is incorporated inside the C(2)(v)()-C(82) cage, is discussed in detail at the B3LYP DFT level of theory. The metal-atom migrations are initiated by the formation of vacancy-type defects involving two coordinatively unsaturated C atoms. This step, which is assumed to proceed due to energy-particle irradiation, leads to the formation of antibonding orbitals between the two C atoms. Since the antibonding orbitals can interact with vacant d-orbitals of the Gd(3)(+)() ion in an in-phase fashion, the attractive interactions allow the Gd ion to insert into the two C atoms in the defect. As a result, the metal ion passes through the defect under energy-particle irradiation. In contrast, the Ca(2+) ion with the vacant s-orbitals does not have such orbital interactions, and thus, a C-C bond is reformed between the two C atoms, which prohibits the Ca ion from penetrating the defected C(82) cage. DFT calculations nicely demonstrate that the orbital interactions control metal-atom migration around the defect site using their orbital symmetries, and therefore, the vacancy-type defect acts as a "gate" that permits a specific atom to go out from a defected fullerene cage.  相似文献

A displacement magnification mechanism which uses flexure motion guide using elastic hinges can realize smooth frictionless motion but has poor vibration damping capability. An impact damper is a damping mechanism which uses collision energy to dissipate vibration energy. If the damper is used for vibration control of the flexure mechanism, it may be able to dissipate unexpected vibration without killing the merits of the flexure mechanism. In the paper, a loading type impact damper is applied to settle down transient vibration of a displacement magnification mechanism. We investigate differences of damping effect by setting conditions of the damper. It is shown that the impact damper can eliminate residual vibration at step response effectively without steady state error. The experimental displacement magnification mechanism with impact damper can settle down less than 1/5 of the response without the damper under appropriate setting conditions. Influence of natural frequency ratio between damper and displacement magnification mechanism is investigated. Influences of indentation at impact point are also examined.  相似文献

Microholographic memory is an attractive storage system for its capability to hold high-density data and for its access time. Using a photochromic chromophore (diarylethene)-doped recording medium can give rise to microholographic memory's durability and contrast. In addition, it is possible to increase the microholographic memory's density by shift-multiplexed recording, since a hologram pit is constructed in a small area. The microhologram was fabricated in the diarylethene-based sample with two counterpropagating focused beams. Also, surface images and cross-sectional images scanned by a confocal microscope indicated that shift-multiplexed recording was achieved in high contrast.  相似文献
