PWM control, which is inherently nonlinear digital control, has been used for hydraulic equipment control because of the robustness and the availability of the low priced high speed on-off valve which is required for the system. Since this valve can be directly controlled without any D/A converter, it is casily implemented to hydraulic equipments with microcomputers. The objectives of this study is to analyze the limit cycle which ordinarily appears in the position control system using high speed on-off valve, and to give a criterion for the stability of this system. The nonlinear characteristics of PWM and cylinder friction are described by harmonic linearization and the effects of parameter variations to the system stability are investigated theoretically. Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method.  相似文献

Gangliosides have been known to play a role in the regulation of apoptosis in cancer cells. This study has employed disialyl-ganglioside GD1b to apoptosis in human breast cancer MCF-7 cells using exogenous treatment of the cells with GD1b and endogenous expression of GD1b in MCF-7 cells. First, apoptosis in MCF-7 cells was observed after treatment of GD1b. Treatment of MCF-7 cells with GD1b reduced cell growth rates in a dose and time dependent manner during GD1b treatment, as determined by XTT assay. Among the various gangliosides, GD1b specifically induced apoptosis of the MCF-7 cells. Flow cytometry and immunofluorescence assays showed that GD1b specifically induces apoptosis in the MCF-7 cells with Annexin V binding for apoptotic actions in early stage and propidium iodide (PI) staining the nucleus of the MCF-7 cells. Treatment of MCF-7 cells with GD1b activated apoptotic molecules such as processed forms of caspase-8, -7 and PARP (Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase), without any change in the expression of mitochondria-mediated apoptosis molecules such as Bax and Bcl-2. Second, to investigate the effect of endogenously produced GD1b on the regulation of cell function, UDP-gal: β1,3-galactosyltransferase-2 (GD1b synthase, Gal-T2) gene has been transfected into the MCF-7 cells. Using the GD1b synthase-transfectants, apoptosis-related signal proteins linked to phenotype changes were examined. Similar to the exogenous GD1b treatment, the cell growth of the GD1b synthase gene-transfectants was significantly suppressed compared with the vector-transfectant cell lines and transfection activated the apoptotic molecules such as processed forms of caspase-8, -7 and PARP, but not the levels of expression of Bax and Bcl-2. GD1b-induced apoptosis was blocked by caspase inhibitor, Z-VAD. Therefore, taken together, it was concluded that GD1b could play an important role in the regulation of breast cancer apoptosis.  相似文献

Approximate limit and plastic collapse load solutions for un-reinforced mitred bends under internal pressure and under bending are proposed in this paper, based on three-dimensional finite element analysis and approximate solutions for smooth bends. Solutions are given for single- and multi-mitred bends (mainly for single and double segmented bends) with the pipe mean radius-to-thickness ratio (r/t) ranging from r/t = 5 to r/t = 50, and the bend radius-to-mean radius ratio (R/r) from R/r = 2 to R/r = 4. Internal pressure, in-plane bending and out-of-plane bending loads are considered, but not their combination. It is found that the essential features of limit and plastic collapse loads for mitred bends are similar to those for smooth bends, and thus existing solutions for smooth elbows can be used to construct limit loads and plastic collapse for mitred bends.  相似文献

Since the 17th century Spica Prunella has been used as a medicinal herb. Dried and pulverized Spica Prunella samples were extracted and used in these experiments. In this study, the effects of Spica Prunella extract (SPE) on RANKL (receptor activator of nuclear factor κB ligand)-induced osteoclastogenesis were examined. Actin ring formation, a typical marker of osteoclastogenesis, was inhibited by SPE without any toxicity. There was also a marked inhibition in the formation of tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP)-positive multinucleated cells in bone marrow-derived monocytes (BMMs). SPE also suppressed phosphorylation of c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) and extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERK) both of which are signals of the mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) signaling pathway. Additionally, SPE inhibited IκBα (nuclear factor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B-cells inhibitor, alpha) signaling pathway, which is an important factor in osteoclastogenesis. These results indicate that SPE might suppress osteoclast differentiation by inhibiting the phosphorylation of JNK and ERK in MAPK and NF-κB signaling pathways which act as messengers in the RANKL-induced osteoclast differentiation pathway. This means that SPE could potentially have great therapeutic usage in treating bone erosive diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or in preventing metastasis associated with bone loss.  相似文献

The effects of microstructure on thermoelectric properties were investigated in Bi2Te3-PbTe compounds of different grain size and density. Powders of two different sizes [0.1 μm to 1 μm (micropowder) and <50 nm (nanopowder)] were prepared from Bi2Te3-PbTe ingots by ball milling and high-energy ball milling. Three different samples were spark plasma sintered from each powder and the mixture of the two powders. The grain size and relative density of the sintered samples varied from 100 nm to a few micrometers and 89.7% to 97.3%, respectively. The dimensionless figure of merit zT of the sample sintered from nanopowder was about 0.50 at 500 K, being about 3.3 times larger than that of the sample sintered from micropowder (~0.15 at 500 K), when the relative density of the former and the latter were 89.7% and 97.3%, respectively. The improved thermoelectric performance of the samples may originate from the decrease of the thermal conductivity, which was caused by the decrease of the grain size and the increase of the amount of pores.  相似文献

A cost-effective plasma display panel (PDP) sustainer employing current injection method (CIM) for energy recovery is proposed. Using a voltage-balancing technique, driver cost can be reduced by about 20%-30% compared with that of the conventional H-bridge driver by using low-voltage switches. The energy recovery performance can be improved by the current that is built up before the energy recovery operation. This buildup current is utilized to change the polarity of the panel electrode and provides additional variable to determine pulse slopes. Experimental results show that the voltage stress of switches connected in series is identically clamped to sustain voltage during sustain operation and that light is emitted more stably by independent control of the rising and falling slopes using CIM. Therefore, the proposed sustainer is expected to be suitable for a low-cost PDP sustaining driver requiring stable discharge characteristics.  相似文献

As part of our efforts to identify effective ways and means to keep source water safe, the concept of risk assessment and management is introduced in this paper to address the issue of risk assessment and management of arsenic in source water in China. Carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic risk are calculated for different concentrations of arsenic in source water using the corrective equation between potential health risk and concentration of arsenic in source water with purification process taken into consideration. It is justified through analyses that risk assessment and management is suitable for China to control pollution of source water. The permissible content of arsenic in source water should be set at 0.01 mg/L at present in China, and necessary risk management measures include control contaminated sources and improvement of purification efficiency.  相似文献

This paper describes rapid prototyping (RP) and reverse engineering (RE) application for orthopedic surgery planning to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the orthopedic surgery. Using the symmetrical characteristics of the human body, CAD data of undamaged bone of the injured area are generated from a mirror transformation of undamaged bone data for the uninjured area. The physical model before the injury is manufactured from Polyjet RP process. The surgical plan, including the selection of the proper implant, pre-forming of the implant and decision of fixation positions, etc., is determined by a physical simulation using the physical model. In order to examine the applicability and efficiency of the surgical planning technology, two case studies, such as a distal tibia comminuted fracture and an iliac wing fracture of pelvis, are carried out. From the results of the examination, it has been shown that the RP and RE can be applied to orthopedic surgical planning and can be an efficient surgical tool.  相似文献
