In this paper, a new compact size microstrip lowpass filter (LPF) with a very sharp roll-off is presented to apply in the modern wireless networks. The proposed LPF is designed using the series main resonators with meandered lines based on inductor-capacitor (LC) equivalent circuit analysis. The main goal is to achieve maximum-sharp roll-off by maintaining a wide stopband bandwidth and high return loss (RL). The main resonator of the proposed filter is consisted of two meandered line hairpin resonators (MLHR), and a meandered line T-shaped resonator (MLTR). The designed suppressor is composed of two coupled radial stubs to create a wide stopband. Low return loss in the passband, which has been created by the main resonator, is resolved by the suppressor structure with high return loss. The measured results show a ??3 dB cut-off frequency of 1.93 GHz. The very sharp transition band starts at 1.93 to 1.97 GHz (from ??3 to ??20 dB). The stopband is from 1.97 to 19.9 GHz (with the suppression level of ??20 dB). Also, the total size of the proposed LPF is only 13.3?×?10.1 mm2.

We revisit the problem of finding \(k\) paths with a minimum number of shared edges between two vertices of a graph. An edge is called shared if it is used in more than one of the \(k\) paths. We provide a \({\lfloor {k/2}\rfloor }\) -approximation algorithm for this problem, improving the best previous approximation factor of \(k-1\) . We also provide the first approximation algorithm for the problem with a sublinear approximation factor of \(O(n^{3/4})\) , where \(n\) is the number of vertices in the input graph. For sparse graphs, such as bounded-degree and planar graphs, we show that the approximation factor of our algorithm can be improved to \(O(\sqrt{n})\) . While the problem is NP-hard, and even hard to approximate to within an \(O(\log n)\) factor, we show that the problem is polynomially solvable when \(k\) is a constant. This settles an open problem posed by Omran et al. regarding the complexity of the problem for small values of \(k\) . We present most of our results in a more general form where each edge of the graph has a sharing cost and a sharing capacity, and there is a vulnerability parameter \(r\) that determines the number of times an edge can be used among different paths before it is counted as a shared/vulnerable edge.  相似文献

Due to the increasing demands for more power in data intensive computing, low power design methodologies play a very important role in these systems. For noncritical data, the approximate computing that significantly reduces the power can be used. In this paper, an approximate floating‐point adder is proposed by designing an inexact mantissa adder and exponent subtractor. The results indicate that the power consumption and delay of the proposed approximate floating‐point adder have been decreased by 37% and 62% compared with the IEEE‐754 single‐precision floating‐point (FP) adder. Furthermore, compared with a state‐of‐the‐art inexact floating‐point adder, the proposed method provides an improvement of 7% and 21% in terms of the power consumption and delay. In addition, the proposed floating‐point adder has been investigated in terms of error, and the mean error of the proposed floating‐point adder at worst is about 55% less than that of another approximate floating‐point adder considered in this work. High dynamic range (HDR) images are processed using the proposed approximate floating‐point adders to show the performance of the proposed adder. The results show that, on average, peak signal‐to‐noise ratio increased by 9.6 and 18.64 dB, which may be achieved by utilizing the proposed floating‐point adder.  相似文献

This article reports a study on the strain‐sensitive conductivity (tensoresistivity) and mechanical properties of polyvinyl chloride/multiwalled carbon nanotube (PVC/MWCNT) composites subjected to tensile loading at different strain rates for potential use in sensor‐enabled geosynthetics and other applications involving electrically conductive polymer composites. Results indicate that adding 0.5 wt % MWCNT to the composite results in 57% reduction in its ultimate (failure) strain and a fivefold increase in its tensile modulus while leaving its ultimate strength almost unchanged. Laser scanning confocal microscopy is used to investigate the microscopic failure mechanism of the composite and how it contributes to the strain‐sensitive conductivity of the composites. It is observed that tensile fractures are initiated from inside the largest bundles between 18% and 36% strain and continue through further fractal‐like fracturing in smaller bundles. Gauge factors (e.g., 3.17) comparable to or exceeding those of typical strain gauges are obtained for the composite, indicating its strong potential for structural performance monitoring and damage detection applications. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Gelatin’s excellent foaming ability allows the application of in situ gas foaming as a preparation technique for porous scaffold development. Here, a new iterative experimental design for in situ gas foaming method is reported. The prepared scaffolds were studied for applying the findings to the future skin tissue engineering scaffolds. The thermal stability, mechanical properties, and pore structure of the scaffolds are reported and their degradation resistance by using collagenase enzyme and their cytotoxicity by using fibroblasts were studied. The results of this study demonstrated that gas foaming method can be modified to produce an interconnected porous structure with enhanced mechanical properties.  相似文献

The rotary regenerator (heat wheel) is an important heat recovery equipment, which rotates between two cold and hot streams. The pressure drop and effectiveness of rotary regenerator are important parameters in optimal design of this equipment for industrial applications. For optimal design of such a system, it was thermally modeled using -NTU method to estimate its pressure drop and effectiveness. Frontal area, ratio of hot to cold frontal heat transfer area, matrix thickness, matrix rotational speed, matrix rod diameter and porosity were considered as design parameters. Then fast and elitist non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) method was applied to find the optimum values of design parameters. In the presented optimal design approach, the effectiveness and the total pressure drop are two objective functions. The results of optimal designs were a set of multiple optimum solutions, called ‘Pareto optimal solutions’. The sensitivity analysis of change in optimum effectiveness and pressure drop with change in design parameters of the regenerator was also performed and the results are reported.  相似文献

Nowadays, mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) have considered by many researchers to overcome the problems of polymeric membranes. In addition, molecular dynamics (MD) and Monte Carlo (MC) simulation Methods are suitable tools for studying transport properties and morphology in MMMs. For this purpose, in this study using material studio 2017 (MS) software, the transport properties of CO2, CH4 and N2 in Pebax, Psf neat Pebax/Psf composite and Pebax/Psf composite filled with ZIF-90 particles have been investigated. By adding Psf to Pebax matrix, the selectivity of CO2/CH4 and CO2/N2 gases has significantly increased. In addition, adding ZIF-90 particles to the Pebax/Psf composite increased the permeability of CO2, CH4 and N2 compared to neat and composite membranes. The morphological properties of the membranes, such as the fractional free volume (FFV), radial distribution function (RDF), glass transition temperature (TG), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and equilibrium density have calculated and acceptable results have obtained.  相似文献

Given their highly porous nature and excellent water retention, hydrogel‐based biomaterials can mimic critical properties of the native cellular environment. However, their potential to emulate the electromechanical milieu of native tissues or conform well with the curved topology of human organs needs to be further explored to address a broad range of physiological demands of the body. In this regard, the incorporation of nanomaterials within hydrogels has shown great promise, as a simple one‐step approach, to generate multifunctional scaffolds with previously unattainable biological, mechanical, and electrical properties. Here, recent advances in the fabrication and application of nanocomposite hydrogels in tissue engineering applications are described, with specific attention toward skeletal and electroactive tissues, such as cardiac, nerve, bone, cartilage, and skeletal muscle. Additionally, some potential uses of nanoreinforced hydrogels within the emerging disciplines of cyborganics, bionics, and soft biorobotics are highlighted.  相似文献
