In the current study, solid-state diffusion bonding between Ti-6Al-4V (TiA) and 304 stainless steel (SS) using pure nickel (Ni) of 200-μm thickness as an intermediate material was carried out in vacuum. Uniaxial compressive pressure and temperature were kept at 4 MPa and 1023 K (750 °C), respectively, and the bonding time was varied from 30 to 120 minutes in steps of 15 minutes. Scanning electron microscopy images, in backscattered electron mode, revealed the layerwise Ti-Ni-based intermetallics like either Ni3Ti or both Ni3Ti and NiTi at titanium alloy-nickel (TiA/Ni) interface, whereas nickel-stainless steel (Ni/SS) interface was free from intermetallic phases for all the joints. Chemical composition of the reaction layers was determined by energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM–EDS) and confirmed by X-ray diffraction study. Maximum tensile strength of ~382 MPa along with ~3.7 pct ductility was observed for the joints processed for 60 minutes. It was found that the extent of diffusion zone at Ni/SS interface was greater than that of TiA/Ni interface. From the microhardness profile, fractured surfaces, and fracture path, it was demonstrated that the failure of the joints was initiated and propagated apparently at TiA/Ni interface near Ni3Ti intermetallic for bonding time less than 90 minutes, and through Ni for bonding time 90 minutes and greater. 相似文献

The excited state dynamics of core-shell type semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) of various sizes in close contact with a plasmonically active silver thin film has been demonstrated by using picosecond resolved fluorescence spectroscopy. The non-radiative energy transfer from the QDs to the metal surface is found to be of F?rster resonance energy transfer (FRET) type rather than the widely expected nano-surface energy transfer (NSET) type. The slower rate of energy transfer processes compared to that of the electron transfer from the excited QDs to an organic molecule benzoquinone reveals an insignificant possibility of charge migration from the QDs to the metallic film. 相似文献

A chemically enhanced recovery technique is used where thermal recovery is not feasible. It reduces the interfacial tension by forming a microemulsion. In this paper, characterisation of crude oil in terms of chemical bonds present is investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The peaks at different wave number show saturated groups such as n-alkane –CH, –CH2, –CH3 and short chain of n-alkane C–C bond present in the oil samples. Since the crudes are collected from an anionic reservoir, sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) of 0.4% critical micelle concentration is suitable. It has been seen that the particle size increases in the case of a surfactant solution with oil compared to one without oil indicating entrapment of oil components inside the surfactant micelle. The larger absorptions of SDS from UV spectroscopy are caused by electrons moving between π and π* orbitals due to the presence of more unsaturated groups in the solution. 相似文献

In the present study, corrosion behavior of diffusion bonded joints formed between micro-duplex stainless steel (MDSS) and Ti6AI4V alloy (TiA) (at 900 ~C for 60 min under 4 MPa uniaxial pressure in vacuum) was investigated in 1 mol/L HCI and 1 mol/L NaOH solutions using various electrochemical measurements such as open circuit potential (OCP), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization (PD). For comparison, corrosion behavior of base metals (MDSS and TiA) was also evaluated. Bonded joint was characterized by light optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy using backscattered electron mode. The layer wise σ phase and λ + FeTi phase mixture has been observed at the bond interface and the bond tensile strength and shear strength were - 556.4 MPa and -420.2 MPa, respectively. 相似文献

The modulation of the cyclooxygenase-independent pathway by the green tea-derived polyphenol, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) during its healing action against indomethacin (IND)-induced stomach ulceration in mice was investigated. On the 3rd day of its administration, IND (18 mg kg(-1)) induced maximum stomach ulceration which was associated with increased myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity (2.1-fold, p < 0.001), and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) expression (2.5-fold, p < 0.001), along with augmented levels of serum nitrite (1.3-fold, p < 0.001), selectins and cell adhesion molecules (CAMs), as well as reduced endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) expression (53%, p < 0.001). Treatment with EGCG (2 mg kg(-1)) and omeprazole (3 mg kg(-1)) for 3 days reversed these parameters, and provided excellent (76-77%) ulcer healing. 相似文献

Remarkable enhancement of piezoelectric power output from a nanogenerator (NG) based on a zinc oxide (ZnO) thin film is achieved via native defect control. A large number of unintentionally induced point defects that act as n‐type carriers in ZnO have a strong influence on screening the piezoelectric potential into a piezoelectric NG. Here, additional oxygen molecules bombarded into ZnO lead to oxygen‐rich conditions, and the n‐type conductivity of ZnO is decreased dramatically. The acceptor‐type point defects such as zinc vacancies created during the deposition process trap n‐type carriers occurring from donor‐type point defects through a self‐compensation mechanism. This unique insulating‐type ZnO thin film‐based NGs (IZ‐NGs) generates output voltage around 1.5 V that is over ten times higher than that of an n‐type ZnO thin film‐based NG (around 0.1 V). In addition, it is found that the power output performance of the IZ‐NG can be further increased by hybridizing with a p‐type polymer (poly(3‐hexylthiophene‐2,5‐diyl):phenyl‐C61‐butyric acid methyl ester) via surface free carrier neutralization. 相似文献

An attempt has been made to design and develop acicular ferritic steels by adopting three-stage controlled rolling, with titanium alone as microadditive. Process parameters such as finish rolling temperature (FRT), amount of deformation during the last pass and also the cooling rate after finishing have been altered to obtain different microstructural effects. Optical as well as transmission electron microscopy studies indicated that acicular ferritic microstructure can be engendered by applying a minimum deformation of 25 % at the finishing pass followed by water quenching. Decreasing the FRT from 850 °C, for water quenched steels deformed 33 %, resulted in the refinement of polygonal ferrite, whereas the reverse is the case with the aspect ratio of acicular ferrite. The volume fraction of acicular ferrite progressively increases as the FRT is lowered. Evaluation of tensile properties suggested that yield strength as high as ~ 600 MPa with an elongation of ~ 25 %, could be obtained by finishing at a lower temperature of 750 °C. An impact transition temperature (ITT) of -53 °C indicated that the steel possesses adequate toughness properties. As weldability is one of the criteria for structural applications, this aspect too has been investigated. 相似文献
