It is well known that many industrial manipulators use an embedded linear proportional‐integral (PI) joint velocity controller to guarantee motion control through proper velocity commands. However, although this control scheme has been very successful in practice, not much attention has been paid to designing new PI velocity control structures. The problem of analyzing a saturated PI velocity joint velocity controller is addressed in this paper. By using the theory of singularly perturbed systems, the closed‐loop system is studied. The robot dynamics assumed in this paper take into account bounded time–varying disturbances which may include the friction at the joints. An experimental study in a planar two degrees‐of‐freedom direct‐drive robot is also presented, confirming the advantage of the new saturated PI joint velocity controller. 相似文献

In this paper, a fuzzy logic controller (FLC) based variable structure control (VSC) is presented. The main objective is to obtain an improved performance of highly non‐linear unstable systems. New functions for chattering reduction and error convergence without sacrificing invariant properties are proposed. The main feature of the proposed method is that the switching function is added as an additional fuzzy variable and will be introduced in the premise part of the fuzzy rules; together with the state variables. In this work, a tuning of the well known weighting parameters approach is proposed to optimize local and global approximation and modelling capability of the Takagi‐Sugeno (T‐S) fuzzy model to improve the choice of the performance index and minimize it. The main problem encountered is that the T‐S identification method can not be applied when the membership functions are overlapped by pairs. This in turn restricts the application of the T‐S method because this type of membership function has been widely used in control applications. The approach developed here can be considered as a generalized version of the T‐S method. An inverted pendulum mounted on a cart is chosen to evaluate the robustness, effectiveness, accuracy and remarkable performance of the proposed estimation approach in comparison with the original T‐S model. Simulation results indicate the potential, simplicity and generality of the estimation method and the robustness of the chattering reduction algorithm. In this paper, we prove that the proposed estimation algorithm converge the very fast, thereby making it very practical to use. The application of the proposed FLC‐VSC shows that both alleviation of chattering and robust performance are achieved. 相似文献

Regularization is a well-known technique in statistics for model estimation which is used to improve the generalization ability of the estimated model. Some of the regularization methods can also be used for variable selection that is especially useful in high-dimensional problems. This paper studies the use of regularized model learning in estimation of distribution algorithms (EDAs) for continuous optimization based on Gaussian distributions. We introduce two approaches to the regularized model estimation and analyze their effect on the accuracy and computational complexity of model learning in EDAs. We then apply the proposed algorithms to a number of continuous optimization functions and compare their results with other Gaussian distribution-based EDAs. The results show that the optimization performance of the proposed RegEDAs is less affected by the increase in the problem size than other EDAs, and they are able to obtain significantly better optimization values for many of the functions in high-dimensional settings. 相似文献

Fuzzy c-means (FCMs) is an important and popular unsupervised partitioning algorithm used in several application domains such as pattern recognition, machine learning and data mining. Although the FCM has shown good performance in detecting clusters, the membership values for each individual computed to each of the clusters cannot indicate how well the individuals are classified. In this paper, a new approach to handle the memberships based on the inherent information in each feature is presented. The algorithm produces a membership matrix for each individual, the membership values are between zero and one and measure the similarity of this individual to the center of each cluster according to each feature. These values can change at each iteration of the algorithm and they are different from one feature to another and from one cluster to another in order to increase the performance of the fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm. To obtain a fuzzy partition by class of the input data set, a way to compute the class membership values is also proposed in this work. During the last decades the Web has become the greatest repository of digital information. In order to organize all this information, several text categorization methods have been developed, achieving accurate results in most cases and in very different domains. Due to the recent usage of Internet as communication media, short texts such as news, tweets, blogs, and product reviews are more common every day. In this context, there are two main challenges; on the one hand, the length of these documents is short, and therefore, the word frequencies are not informative enough, making text categorization even more difficult than usual. On the other hand, topics are changing constantly at a fast rate, causing the lack of adequate amounts of training data. In order to deal with these two problems we consider a text classification method that is supported on the idea that similar documents may belong to the same category. Mainly, we propose a neighborhood consensus classification method that classifies documents by considering their own information as well as information about the category assigned to other similar documents from the same target collection. In particular, the short texts we used in our evaluation are news titles with an average of 8 words. Experimental results are encouraging; they indicate that leveraging information from similar documents helped to improve classification accuracy and that the proposed method is especially useful when labeled training resources are limited. 相似文献

This paper describes the generation of temporally anchored infobox attribute data from the Wikipedia history of revisions. By mining (attribute, value) pairs from the revision history of the English Wikipedia we are able to collect a comprehensive knowledge base that contains data on how attributes change over time. When dealing with the Wikipedia edit history, vandalic and erroneous edits are a concern for data quality. We present a study of vandalism identification in Wikipedia edits that uses only features from the infoboxes, and show that we can obtain, on this dataset, an accuracy comparable to a state-of-the-art vandalism identification method that is based on the whole article. Finally, we discuss different characteristics of the extracted dataset, which we make available for further study. 相似文献

The need for accessibility evaluation tools is motivated by several endogenous and exogenous reasons coming from the end user (the designer and the developer) and companies releasing information systems. Existing evaluation tools mainly concentrate on examining the code of Web pages: Web pages more and more frequently contain non-HTML parts that entirely escape from being treated by existing techniques. This is the case of the advanced human–machine interface (AHMI), a piece of software programmed in C/C++, used for controlling the advanced flight management system in the aircraft cockpit. Studying this new user interface (UI) requires a structured approach to evaluate and validate AHMI designs. The goal in this work is to develop an evaluation tool to automate the process of evaluating the AHMI. The method addresses: support of multiple bases of guidelines (accessibility or usability or both) on-demand (partial or total evaluation), with different levels of details (a presentation for developers and for those responsible for certifying accessibility). In this paper, we report on our experience with the application of validated models to assess performance, reliability, and adaptability of a complex mission critical system that is being developed to dynamically monitor and control the position of an oil-drilling platform. We present real-time modeling results that show that all tasks are schedulable. We performed stochastic analysis of the distribution of task execution time as a function of the number of system interfaces. We report on the variability of task execution times for the expected system configurations. In addition, we have executed a system library for an important task inside the performance model simulator. We report on the measured algorithm convergence as a function of the number of vessel thrusters. We have also studied the system architecture adaptability by comparing the documented system architecture and the implemented source code. We report on the adaptability findings and the recommendations we were able to provide to the system’s architect. Finally, we have developed models of hardware and software reliability. We report on hardware and software reliability results based on the evaluation of the system architecture. 相似文献
