In this study, a 2D mathematical model was developed for both arc and weld pool in stationary GTA welding. In arc model, current continuity equation has been solved in both arc and cathode regions without any assumption of fixed current density on the cathode surface which was essential in most previous works. The results of arc model were presented for both copper and aluminum anodes to investigate the effect of anode material on arc properties. It was seen that aluminum anode has lower maximum anode current density and heat flux but the distributions are wider than copper anode. Furthermore, shear stress on anode surface is higher in the case of aluminum anode. Also, calculated results of this study were compared with other available theoretical and experimental results. It has been shown that the agreement between calculated and experimental results was fairly good. The necessary information to simulate the weld pool, including the anode current density and heat flux to the workpiece were taken from the arc model. In this model, due to high thermal conductivity of pure aluminum, fluid flow into the weld pool was ignored. Effects of arc variables, i.e., arc length, applied current and welding time on the shape and size of the weld pool were investigated as well. In order to check the validity of the weld pool model, a comparison between calculated results and the results of our experimental tests was conducted. Generally, these comparisons reveal an acceptable agreement between calculated results and experimental data.  相似文献

In the present study, a sensitive and rapid method for separation and determination of hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) in fruit puree and juices was proposed. Dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used for extraction and quantitative determination of HMF in fruit puree and juices. The effective parameters such as the type and volume of extraction and dispersive solvents, pH and salt amount (NaCl) were studied and optimized with the aid of response surface methodology based on Box–Behnken design to obtain the best condition for HMF extraction. At the optimized conditions, parameter values were 60 µL extracting solvent, 600 µL dispersive solvent, 2 g NaCl and pH 5. Repeatability of the method, described as the relative standard deviation, was 3.1% (n?=?6) and the recovery was 98.4%. The limit of detection and limit of quantitation were 1.47 and 5.28 µg L?1, respectively. The merit figures of DLLME–HPLC–UV method showed that the proposed method can be noticed as a new, fast and good alternative method for investigation of HMF in various fruit puree and juice samples.  相似文献

In the present study, a new method based on microwave-assisted extraction and dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (MAE–DLLME) followed by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was proposed for the separation and determination of oleuropein (Ole) and hydroxytyrosol (HyT) from olive pomace samples. The effective factors in the MAE–DLLME process such as microwave power, extraction time, the type and volume of extraction, and dispersive solvents were studied and optimized with the aid of response surface methodology (RSM) based on a central composite design (CCD) to obtain the best condition for Ole and HyT extraction. At the optimized conditions, parameter values were 220 W microwave power, 12 min extraction time, 60 μL extracting solvent, and 500 μL dispersive solvent. The calibration graphs of the proposed method were linear in the range of 10–500,000 μg L?1, with the coefficient of determination (R2) higher than 0.99 for Ole and HyT. Repeatability of the method, described as the relative standard deviation (RSD), was 4.12–5.63% (n?=?6). The limits of detection were 35 and 20 μg L?1 for Ole and HyT, respectively. The recoveries of these compounds in the spiked olive pomace sample were from 93 to 98%. The proposed method, MAE–DLLME–HPLC–UV, was an accurate, rapid, and reliable method when compared with previous methods.  相似文献

A dynamic model was developed for long-term simulation of a heavy duty gas turbine. The model includes the essential control algorithm of the gas turbine as well as the most common outputs and other important intermediate variables. Control algorithm details, such as wind up protection and load limiter algorithm which have large effect on gas turbine transient behavior, are included. The model parameters are identified by applying genetic algorithm and least squares algorithm on regular operational data from a real plant to better match the model response to the real plant. The simulation results have been validated with real plant data and shown to have valid accuracy for many engineering applications.  相似文献

The United States generates 110 million t of coal ash annually. Approximately 70 million t of this coal ash is fly ash, of which 27% is recycled and the remaining 73% is landfilled. Disposal of such a huge quantity of ash poses a significant environmental problem. A new cementitious material has been developed, called alkali ash material (AAM), which is used to produce concrete for construction. AAM can be used to create a variety of concrete strengths and could revolutionize the concrete product manufacturing industry due to its economic advantage. AAM contains 40-95% Class F fly ash and is used as cement to bind sand, stone, and fibers creating concrete. AAM concrete has been tested for strength, durability, mechanical properties, and, most importantly, economic viability. AAM concrete is economically and technically viable for many construction applications. Some properties include rapid strength gain (90% of ultimate in 1 d), high ultimate strengths (110 MPa or 16,000 psi in 1 d), excellent acid resistance, and freeze-thaw durability. AAM's resistance to chemical attack, such as sulfuric (H2SO4), nitric (HNO3), hydrochloric (HCl), and organic acids, is far better than portland cement concrete. AAM is resistant to freeze-thaw attack based on ASTM C-666 specifications. Potential immediate applications of AAM are blocks, pipe, median barriers, sound barriers, and overlaying materials. Eventual markets are high strength construction products, bridge beams, prestressed members, concrete tanks, highway appurtenances, and other concrete products.  相似文献

In this study, thyme essential oil (TEO) loaded chitosan nanoparticles (CS-NP-TEO) are prepared by a two-step process including oil/water emulsion and ionic gelation. Five batches of burgers were prepared by following formulation: control (without any TEO), F-0.05-TEO (0.05 % of free TEO), F-0.1-TEO (0.1 % of free TEO), E-0.05-TEO (0.05 % of encapsulated TEO), E-0.1-TEO (0.1 % of encapsulated TEO), and AA-0.05 (0.05 % of ascorbic acid). All samples treated with TEO significantly reduced the population of investigated microbial counts (P?<?0.05) compared to the control during 8 days of storage. At the end of storage, E-0.05-TEO and E-0.1-TEO, presented, respectively, 2.2 and 3 log cycles reduction of Enterobacteriaceae, along with 3.1 and 3.7 log cycles reduction of Staphylococcus aureus. Oxymyoglobin content and redness values reduced with the increase of storage time for all samples. However, AA-0.05 and E-0.1-TEO samples were more efficient at inhibiting discoloration in comparison with E-0.05-TEO and burgers treated with free TEO after 6th day of storage. A significant improvement (P?<?0.05) in the reduction of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) amount was found for all TEO treated burgers in comparison to control samples after 8 days chilled storage. According to the results of sensory analyses, F-0.1-TEO and AA-0.05 samples at 4 days and F-0.05-TEO sample at 8 days of storage were rejected by assessors and considered as an unacceptable case. On the basis of our results, the encapsulation of TEO in chitosan nanoparticles may be a promising technology for the control of undesirable microbial, chemical, and sensorial changes in meat products.  相似文献

A highly sensitive method was investigated for the simultaneous determination of acetaminophen (AC) and dopamine (DA) using single wall carbon nanotubes modified carbon–ceramic electrode (SWCNT/CCE). The SWCNT/CCE displayed excellent electrochemical catalytic activities towards the oxidation of AC and DA. Under optimized experimental conditions in differential pulse voltammetry technique, AC and DA gave linear response over the ranges 0.2–100.0 μM (R2 = 0.996) and 0.4–150.0 μM (R2 = 0.999), respectively. The detection limits (S/N = 3) were found to be 0.12 μM for AC and 0.22 μM for DA. The present method was applied to the determination of AC and DA in some commercial pharmaceutical samples.  相似文献

The phase morphology developing in immiscible poly(styrene‐co‐acrylonitrile) (SAN)/ethylene–propylene–diene monomer (EPDM) blends was studied with an in situ reactively generated SAN‐g‐EPDM compatibilizer through the introduction of a suitably chosen polymer additive (maleic anhydride) and 2,5‐dimethyl‐2,5‐di‐(t‐butyl peroxy) hexane (Luperox) and dicumyl peroxide as initiators during melt blending. Special attention was paid to the experimental conditions required for changing the droplet morphology for the dispersed phase. Two different mixing sequences (simple and two‐step) were used. The product of two‐step blending was a major phase surrounded by rubber particles; these rubber particles contained the occluded matrix phase. Depending on the mixing sequence, this particular phase morphology could be forced or could occur spontaneously. The composition was stabilized by the formation of the SAN‐g‐EPDM copolymer between the elastomer and addition polymer, which was characterized with Fourier transform infrared. As for the two initiators, the blends with Luperox showed better mechanical properties. Scanning electron microscopy studies revealed good compatibility for the SAN/EPDM blends produced by two‐step blending with this initiator. Dynamic mechanical thermal analysis studies showed that the two‐step‐prepared blend with Luperox had the best compatibility. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2011  相似文献
