The kinetics of colour (measured as Hunter ‘a’ value) degradation in tomato puree (Lycopersicon esculentum L.) has been studied over a temperature range of 50–120 °C (isothermal condition), and also during normal open pan cooking, pressure cooking and cooking in a newly developed and patented fuel-efficient ‘EcoCooker’ (non-isothermal condition). The degradation of colour as measured by Hunter ‘a’ value was found to follow first order kinetics. The temperature dependence of degradation was adequately modelled by Arrhenius equation. A mathematical model has been developed using the isothermal parameters obtained to predict correctly the losses of red colour from the time–temperature data of non-isothermal heating/processing method. The results obtained indicate a colour degradation of similar magnitude in all the three modes of cooking used in the study.  相似文献

In this study, the overall performance of a biofilter was evaluated in terms of its elimination capacity by using 3-D mesh techniques. The overall results indicate that the agreement between experimental data and model predictions is excellent for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and o-xylene (BTEX). In this study, the maximum removal rate (r max) values for BTEX were 0.0117, 0.0126, 0.0081 and 0.0146 g m–3 h–1, and the half-saturation constant (KS ) values were calculated to be 0.269, 0.297, 0.156 and 0.394 g m–3, respectively. For this system, the coefficients of determination (r 2) of BTEX compounds were greater than 0.97. The BTEX concentration profiles along the depth were also determined using a convection–diffusion reactor (CDR) model. The sums of squares of the errors (SSEs) of BTEX were 0.0078, 0.0059, 0.0129 and 0.0269, respectively, with r 2 values greater than 0.99 for all four compounds at low concentrations.  相似文献

Flame retardancy was imparted to a scoured and bleached, proteinous woollen textile by using banana pseudostem sap, an ecofriendly waste agricultural product, at different pH levels. The flame retardancy characteristics of both the control and the treated fabrics were analysed in terms of the limiting oxygen index and the vertical flammability measurement. Thermal degradation and fire retardancy mechanisms were studied using thermogravimetry, scanning electron microscopy, and energy dispersive X‐ray analysis. Moreover, the charring mechanism of both the control and the banana‐pseudostem‐sap‐treated fabrics with varying pH was analysed and reported in detail. The wool fabric was also dyed with CI Acid Blue 25 using banana pseudostem sap as well as water as the medium. The fabric dyed with the banana pseudostem sap medium at pH 5.5 showed more colour exhaustion, colour strength, and thermal stability compared with the control wool fabric. The mechanism by which superior fire retardancy and colour strength are imparted to the woollen textile by the application of banana pseudostem sap is proposed.  相似文献

The present paper proposes a novel concept which can successfully reduce threshold voltage and increase switching speed of a conventional MOSFET. The proposed structures have been incorporated with a silicon germanium (SiGe) layer as a channel at the 22 nm technology node. Also, extensive analyses have been done to study the effects of replacing conventional polysilicon by graded dopent profile polysilicon, use of a high-k/silicon dioxide stack as a dielectric with graded dopent profile polysilicon and by using a high-k/silicon dioxide stack as a dielectric with a metal gate. Hafnium dioxide is used as a high-k material. Silvaco Athena and Atlas simulators are used for simulation as well as for finding electrical characteristics of the structures. For all the proposed structures two important parameters are studied in detail, threshold voltage and subthreshold slope. Comparing the three structures, it can be seen that using the high-k/silicon dioxide stack as a dielectric with a metal gate yields the best threshold voltage as well as good subthreshold slope which is directly related to the switching behaviour of the device. The required fabrication aspects of the modelled structures are also elaborated in detail.  相似文献

Dense nanocrystalline barium strontium titanate Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 (BST) ceramics with an average grain size around 40 nm and very small dispersion were obtained by spark plasma sintering at 950°C and 1050°C starting from nonagglomerated nanopowders (~20 nm). The powders were synthesized by a modified “Organosol” process. X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and dielectric measurements in the temperature range 173–313 K were used to investigate the evolution of crystal structure and the ferroelectric to paraelectric phase transformation behavior for the sintered BST ceramics with different grain sizes. The Curie temperature TC decreases, whereas the phase transition becomes diffuse for the particle size decreasing from about 190 to 40 nm with matching XRD and permittivity data. Even the ceramics with an average grain size as small as 40 nm show the transition into the ferroelectric state. The dielectric permittivity ε shows relatively good thermal stability over a wide temperature range. The dielectric losses are smaller than 2%–4% in the frequency range of 100 Hz–1 MHz and temperature interval 160–320 K. A decrease in the dielectric permittivity in nanocrystalline ceramics was observed compared to submicrometer‐sized ceramics.  相似文献

Microgravity, as a different environment, has been shown to affect plant growth and development (Sievers et al. 1996; Sack 1997). In the present study, effects of slow clinorotation (2 rpm) on growth and chlorophyll content in rice (variety: PRH-10) seedlings were investigated. Rice seeds were clinorotated continuously for 3, 5 and 7 days under ambient conditions. Root and shoot lengths and weights of rice seedlings were measured on the third, fifth and seventh day. Chlorophyll was extracted using N, N-Dimethylformamide (DMF). Absorption and fluorescence spectra of chlorophyll were recorded. Chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll contents were calculated from absorption spectra using Arnon’s method. Results showed an increase in root and shoot lengths in clinorotated samples. Similar results were obtained for root and shoot weights. Absorption spectra of chlorophyll showed no shift in the absorption peaks. Chlorophyll content was increased in clinorotated samples as compared to the controls. Interestingly, the difference between chlorophyll content in control and clinorotated samples decreased as the number of days of clinorotation increased. Chlorophyll a/b ratio was lowered in clinorotated samples as compared to the controls. These results suggest that slow clinorotation (2 rpm) affects plant growth and chlorophyll content in rice seedlings.  相似文献
