This paper presents near-field (NF) and far-field (FF) analysis of alternating impedance electromagnetic bandgap (AI-EBG) structure in packages and boards. Three test vehicles have been designed and fabricated for NF and FF measurements. Simulation results using a full-wave solver (SONNET) have been compared with measurement results. This paper investigates the radiation due to return current on different reference planes. The analysis results from simulations and measurements provide important guidelines for design of the AI-EBG structure based power distribution network for noise isolation and suppression in mixed-signal systems  相似文献

Composites of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) reinforced with different weight percentages of pineapple leaf fibers (PALF) were fabricated and evaluated for biodegradation by soil burial test and plate test. FTIR analysis indicated the existence of a chemical interaction between PVA and PALF. The water uptake study showed that the composites with higher fiber content displayed high tensile strength and brittleness but possessed lower water uptake potential. In the soil burial test, the composites with low matrix to filler ratios exhibited higher rates of degradation as evident by the associated decrease in molecular weights. Plate test performed using Pseudomonas putida showed that the composites were susceptible for degradation by bacteria. The results of this study indicated that PALF-reinforced PVA composites were completely biodegradable and could find potential applications in industries such as agriculture and packaging and safely disposed after use without causing environmental damage.  相似文献

ABSTRACT: BACKGROUND: Food Frequency Questionnaires (FFQs) are commonly used in epidemiologic studies to assess long-term nutritional exposure. Because of wide variations in dietary habits in different countries, a FFQ must be developed to suit the specific population. Sri Lanka is undergoing nutritional transition and diet-related chronic diseases are emerging as an important health problem. Currently, no FFQ has been developed for Sri Lankan adults. In this study, we developed a FFQ to assess the regular dietary intake of Sri Lankan adults. METHODS: A nationally representative sample of 600 adults was selected by a multi-stage random cluster sampling technique and dietary intake was assessed by random 24-h dietary recall. Nutrient analysis of the FFQ required the selection of foods, development of recipes and application of these to cooked foods to develop a nutrient database. We constructed a comprehensive food list with the units of measurement. A stepwise regression method was used to identify foods contributing to a cumulative 90% of variance to total energy and macronutrients. In addition, a series of photographs were included. RESULTS: We obtained dietary data from 482 participants and 312 different food items were recorded. Nutritionists grouped similar food items which resulted in a total of 178 items. After performing step-wise multiple regression, 93 foods explained 90% of the variance for total energy intake, carbohydrates, protein, total fat and dietary fibre. Finally, 90 food items and 12 photographs were selected. CONCLUSION: We developed a FFQ and the related nutrient composition database for Sri Lankan adults. Culturally specific dietary tools are central to capturing the role of diet in risk for chronic disease in Sri Lanka. The next step will involve the verification of FFQ reproducibility and validity.  相似文献

An ab initio informed rate theory framework for a multicomponent system is developed and used to model radiation induced amorphization in β-SiC. Based on the published modeling and experimental studies we propose three possible energy landscapes (ELs) for defect recombination in SiC. We demonstrate that defect ELs have a dramatic effect on the shape of the dose to amorphization vs. temperature curve and on the critical temperature to amorphization Tcr. In the no-barrier EL model, Tcr is correlated with the mobility of silicon interstitials, while in the recombination and trapping models Tcr is governed by the rate of defect recombination. We conclude that both the defect migration barrier and the defect recombination barrier are key parameters to consider when modeling radiation resistance of SiC, and possibly of other multi-component covalent materials.  相似文献

The widespread applications of polymeric materials require the use of conventional flame retardants based on halogen and phosphorous compounds to satisfy fire safety regulatory standards. However, these compounds, particularly halogen-based examples, are persistent organic pollutants of global concern and generate corrosive/toxic combustion products. To account for eco-friendliness, ultimate mechanical/physical properties and processing difficulties, the window of options has become too narrow. Although the incorporation of non-toxic nanofillers in polymers shows positive potential towards flame retardancy, many obstacles remain. Moreover, most of the literature on these materials is qualitative, and often points to conflicting/misleading suggestions from the perspectives of short-term and long-term fire exposure tests. Hence, there is a renewed need to fundamentally understand the fire response of such materials, and complement experimental results with theoretical modelling and/or numerical simulation.  相似文献
