Nanocomposite assemblies of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT), embedded with (a) fluoro alkyl phosphate based ionic liquid functionalized graphene (ILFG) and (b) reduced graphene oxide (RGO) prepared from a modified Hummers' method, have been synthesized. Defect free graphene nanosheets within the size of a few nanometers were achieved in the PEDOT-ILFG nanocomposite. In contrast, structures comprising graphene oxide wrinkles interspersed with the amorphous polymer were obtained in the PEDOT-RGO nanocomposite. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy showed that neat ILFG was considerably less oxidized as compared to the neat RGO, which ratified the superiority of the ionic liquid functionalization strategy over the conventional chemical approach, for exfoliating graphite. Substantially higher electrochemical activity, improved ionic/electronic conductivity, much faster switching rates, and an almost ballistic enhancement in the electrochromic coloration efficiency attained for the PEDOT-ILFG nanocomposite in comparison to PEDOT-RGO film were irrefutable proofs that demonstrated the ability of the ionic liquid to not only fortify the structure of graphene but also facilitate charge transport through the bulk of the film, by providing less impeded pathways. Since PEDOT-ILFG/-RGO nanocomposites of good uniformity have been achieved, this, to some extent, addresses the challenge associated with the processing of graphene based high performance materials for practical applications.  相似文献

A model to predict the enhanced thermal conductivity of water based copper nanofluid on the basis of molecular dynamics simulation coupled with stochastic simulation shows for the first time that the temperature of a copper nanoparticle colliding with a heat source can rise rapidly within the short collision period (e.g., 10-50 ps) estimated by impact dynamics due to phonon transfer. Thereafter the particles undergo Brownian movement in the base fluid and transfer the excess heat in about 2 to 3 ms to the surrounding fluid resulting in an appreciable enhancement of the thermal conductivity of the fluid. Microconvection has minor contribution to the enhanced thermal conductivity of nanofluids. The predicted thermal conductivity of nanofluid and its variation with the volume fraction of the nanoparticles agree well with the present experiments, as well as, with the data reported in the literature.  相似文献

Photo assisted chemical deposition method (PCD) is a new procedure for the deposition of compound semiconducting materials which is less explored. In this method the deposition is carried out with the irradiation of UV light on the reaction bath. PCD scores advantages for its low cost, use of flexible substrates and capability of large area deposition compared to other chemical methods like chemical bath deposition (CBD), electro chemical deposition (ECD), etc. Zinc sulfide films have been deposited on glass substrate by aqueous alkaline solution comprised of zinc nitrate, hydrazine hydrate, ammonium nitrate, ammonia and thiourea. The samples were prepared under UV illumination for different durations and characterized. The thickness of the samples increases with the deposition time. XRD patterns revealed the crystalline nature of samples with more number of dips. Optical study showed a low absorbance and constant transparency throughout the visible region disclosing the stiochiometric nature of the film. Obtained band gap energies were in good agreement with the theoretical value. Photoluminescence spectra showed two blue emission bands around 450 and 470 nm, and the intensity was found to depend on the thickness of the films.  相似文献

Design of a die casting die is a nontrivial task, which depends upon a number of influencing factors related to material, part geometry, manufacturing resources, cost, delivery time, etc. Complexity of this die design activity further increases in case of a multicavity die. Currently available die design systems lack in the level of automation and do not explicitly address multicavity die design. Present work is an attempt to develop a system, which facilitates computer-aided design of a multicavity die casting die. The objective of the proposed system is to automate the process of deciding number of cavities, design of cavity layout and die–base, and core and cavity creation for a multicavity die casting die. The proposed system, which we named Auto_Die_Caster, works as an add-on application to solid modeling software SolidWorks. The proposed system is divided into four modules, namely data initialization, cavity design, cavity layout and die–base design, and core–cavity design. Use of commercial software like SolidWorks as a platform both for part design and generation of die design eliminates loss of data which makes the proposed system quite useful in the industrial scenario. To demonstrate the capabilities of Auto_Die_Caster, it was tried for a number of die casting parts and the results are presented. Proposed system is a step forward to design manufacturing integration for die casting process.  相似文献

Before India became an independent country, its scientists and policy makers could foreseethe importance of science in its development, and accordingly a number of research anddevelopment (R&D) institutions were established. However during these five decades ofindependence, the choice between basic sciences and technology was always a subject of debate.It will be appropriate now to examine the changing patterns of Science and Technology (S&T)manpower growth to find out the ground truth reality. The present study pertains to the analysis ofS&T outturn data in various fields of scientific research that can provide a base for S&T planningand policy making. These S&T indicators will be helpful in estimating future requirements, whichin turn can be useful to a great extent in science and technology policy formulation. Theseestimates and future projections are based on mathematical modelling of the data pertaining to theoutturn of highly qualified Scientific and Technical (S&T) personnel in India from differentfaculties over the period 1990-1998. From the trend analysis it is evident that research is no moreperceived as an interesting career except in the field of engineering and medicine. The findingsfurther suggest that there is a noticeable shift from basic sciences to technology.  相似文献

In the 1970s, Semm developed thermocoagulation, adapted the Roeder Loop, and further invented extra- and intracoporeal endoscopic knotting to achieve endoscopic hemostasis. His numerous technical inventions, especially the electronic insufflator, allowed more complex operations to be performed laparoscopically. His technique, however, was not quickly adopted by the surgical community. When the first fully laparoscopic appendectomy was carried out by Semm in 1980, a veritable storm broke loose. In the opinion of many prominent surgeons, Semm exaggerated the problem of adhesions, and laparoscopic technique itself was regarded as very dangerous. Misunderstood by medical scientists, Semm displayed an ability to force his ideas through despite skepticism and suspicion. He realized that endoscopic surgery had tremendous potential, and promoted laparoscopic technique not only in his field of gynecology but among general surgeons as well. In 1985, Muhe, of Boblingen, Germany, used Semm's technique to remove the first gallbladder in the world laparoscopically. Three years later when Semm presented a videotape of his laparoscopic appendectomy in Baltimore, he gave impetus to McKernan and Save of Marietta. Georgia, to carry out the first laparoscopic cholecystectomy in the United States.  相似文献

This study describes a subset of patients with posterior urethral valves (PUV) who presented late in childhood. The objective was to identify factors that lead to back-pressure effects on the upper tracts, which persist in spite of adequate valve ablation in some patients, and seek factors that may preserve the upper tracts despite untreated obstruction in other patients. Six children with PUV diagnosed after infancy were evaluated. The pre-operative work-up included renal biochemistry, ultrasonography, voiding cystourethrography, and uroflowmetry. Detailed urodynamic studies, including uroflowmetry and slow-fill cystometry, were performed in all cases 6 months after surgery. Adequacy of valve fulguration was confirmed by urethroscopy. Three of the six patients had normal upper tracts; in these, there was marked improvement in peak urine flow rates after fulguration and bladder pressures were normal. The other three patients had bilateral hydroureteronephrosis, and two had chronic renal failure. This group had markedly decreased functional bladder capacity with loss of compliance at low bladder volumes and significant residual urine volumes in spite of adequate valve fulguration, suggesting myogenic detrusor failure. We conclude that in patients with PUV presenting beyond the age of 5 years, upper-tract deterioration may accompany high storage pressures in the bladder. In some boys with long-standing obstruction the upper tracts may escape damage; in our series this was associated with normal bladder dynamics and appeared unrelated to the severity or duration of outflow obstruction.  相似文献

The importance of coronary collateral circulation in relation to the left ventricular function, aneurysm formation and size was investigated in 100 patients with previous 'Q' wave myocardial infarction who underwent coronary angiography. Aneurysms were present in 20% of patients. The majority of these (80%) patients had severe or total occlusion of the left anterior descending artery. Thirty four percent of patients without aneurysm had significant collaterals whereas 25% of patients with aneurysms had collaterals (P > 0.05). However, the size of the aneurysm was smaller when adequate collateral circulation was present (Collateral Index 2 or above). The incidence of hypertension and diabetes was similar in both groups. Collateral circulation was more frequently seen in the anterior (60%) as compared to inferior myocardial infarction (40%), but Collateral Index was higher in right coronary artery disease. The number of patients with an elevated left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (> 12) or poor ejection fraction was similar in the two groups with and without collaterals. Thus, there was no beneficial effect of collateral circulation on left ventricular function. The incidence of aneurysm was not significantly lower, although the size of the aneurysm was significantly smaller in the presence of collateral circulation.  相似文献

The utilization of three water soluble carbohydrates as carrier to improve the dissolution rate of prednisolone was studied. Coprecipitates and physical mixtures of the drug and the carriers in three different proportions were prepared and their dissolution profile was compared with the dissolution profile of the pure drug. The remarkably fast and erratic dissolution of prenisolone observed from the coprecipitates was possible due to the conversion of prednisolone into its metastable or amorphous form durning the coprecipitation process. The dissolution rate of the drug from the physical mixtures was much higher than from the pure drug itself. Effect of aging of the coprecipitate on the dissolution profile showed an increasing tendency of the dissolution curve to match with that of the corresponding physical mixture.  相似文献
