Effects of thymectomy and glucocorticoid therapy on peripheral lymphocytes in myasthenia gravis

Clinical manifestations and peripheral blood lymphocyte subset changes were studied in patients with myasthenia gravis (MG) to elucidate the mechanism of clinical improvement following treatment, with thymectomy (Tx) or glucocorticoid (GC) therapy. The changes found were: 1. There was a significant increase in percentages of CD3+, CD29+ CD4+ cells and CD4/CD8 ratio and a significant decrease in percentages of CD8+ and CD16,56+ cells in patients who had never been treated with any immune therapy. 2. After Tx or GC therapy, CD3+ and CD4+, CD29+ cells were decreased, but the number CD19+ and CD16, CD56 cells did not change. 3. Tx had a special effect on CD8+ cells. In most of the patients who showed clinical improvement after Tx, CD8+ cells were increased and CD4/CD8 ratio wad decreased. 4. Anti-acetylcholine receptor (AChRAb) titers were markedly decreased after GC therapy. These results indicate that there were obvious abnormalities in cell-mediated immunity in addition to those in humoral immunity in myasthenia gravis. These abnormalities tended to be normalized after Tx or GC therapy.     

New efficient designs for XOR and XNOR functions on the transistorlevel

Two new methods are proposed to implement the exclusive-OR and exclusive-NOR functions on the transistor level. The first method uses non-complementary signal inputs and the least number of transistors. The other one improves the performance of the prior method but two more transistors are utilized. Both of them have been fully simulated by HSPICE on a SUN SPARC 2 workstation

全20CrMnTi表面激光重熔的组织与性能研究

本文对激光重熔20CrMnTi材料表明改性层显微组织分布特征、表面硬度分布规律以及残余应力状态作了研究,结果表明,表面改性层由熔融层、相变硬化层及过渡层组成,且材料表面显微硬度得到大幅度提高,表面硬度达到HV841,约提高4倍。硬化层深度约1mm。残余应力测试得出最大残余应力出现在熔凝带中心,表现为压应力。随着离中心距离的增大,残余应力逐步降低,到熔化带边缘,表现为低幅值压应力;而熔池的外边缘应力在热影响区则转变为拉应力状态。     

An improved prediction of series resistance in spiral inductormodeling with eddy-current effect

Based on an earlier study by Kuhn and Ibrahim (see IEEE J. Trans. Microwave Theory Tech., vol. 49, no. 1, p. 31-38, 2001) on current crowding, an improved expression incorporating the skin effect for the prediction of series resistance in spiral inductor modeling has been derived. A modified model for the spiral inductor, which accounts for the eddy-current effect, is thus proposed. Relatively good agreements between the measured data and the results generated from the model are obtained
