Laboratory tests, including compressibility, permeability, and microstructure tests, were conducted on tailings samples using custom-designed test apparatus to investigate the effect of metal contamination (Cu2+) on the hydromechanical behavior of compacted tailings. Infiltrating samples with various dry densities with distilled water or CuSO4 solution at various concentrations showed that the void ratio of compacted tailings decreased with increased dry density. An increase in the metal contaminant concentrations from 0 to 0.1 mol/L increased the compression coefficient of the tailings from 0.14 to 0.84 MPa?1 under a vertical load of 0.01 to 2.0 MPa, while the yield stress of the tailings decreased from 204.3 to 98.7 kPa, respectively. The linear relationship between permeability coefficient (k) and void ratio (e) is described by k?=???6.48?+?17.17e. Microstructure test results showed that the diffusion double layer thinned, and the surface potential decreased, indicating that the contaminant of Cu2+ enhanced the compressibility and permeability of the tailings. The microstructure test results also showed that the amount of fine-grained soil in the copper tailings was significantly less after the hydromechanical test. Therefore, the permeability and compressibility of copper tailings increased. The experimental results are in good agreement with the estimated results.
Rapid and sensitive point-of-care testing (POCT) is an extremely critical mission in practical applications, especially for rigorous military medicine, home health care, and in the third world. Here, we report a visual POCT method for adenosine triphosphate (ATP) detection based on Taylor rising in the corner of quadratic geometries between two rod surfaces. We discuss the principle of Taylor rising, demonstrating that it is significantly influenced by contact angle, surface tension, and density of the sample, which are controlled by ATP-dependent rolling circle amplification (RCA). In the presence of ATP, RCA reaction effectively suppresses Taylor-rising behavior, due to the increased contact angle, density, and decreased surface tension. Without addition of ATP, untriggered RCA reaction is favorable for Taylor rising, resulting in a significant height. With this proposed method, visual sensitive detection of ATP without the aid of other instruments is realized with only a 5 μL droplet, which has good selectivity and a low detection limit (17 nM). Importantly, this visual method provides a promising POCT tool for user-friendly molecular diagnostics. 相似文献
The lead-free piezoelectric ceramics (Na.47Bi.47Ba.06)1-xCaxTiO3 (x?=?0, 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.05, and 0.08, abbreviated as BNBTC/0, BNBTC/1, BNBTC/2, BNBTC/3, BNBTC/5, and BNBTC/8, respectively) were obtained using the solid-state reaction method. The structure, electric conductivity, and dielectric, ferroelectric, and piezoelectric properties of the Ca2+-doped (Na.47Bi.47Ba.06)TiO3 ceramics were thoroughly investigated. The ceramics sintered at 1200?°C exhibit dense microstructures, having relative densities higher than 96%. The X-ray diffraction results demonstrate that all ceramics have a pure perovskite structure. The mean grain sizes of the ceramics are related to the Ca2+ quantity. A small quantity of Ca2+ ions (x?≤?0.03) improves the piezoelectric and ferroelectric properties of the samples. The dielectric behavior of the samples is sensitive to the Ca2+ content and electric poling. The results demonstrate that the electrical properties of the (Na.47Bi.47Ba.06)TiO3 lead-free ceramics can be well tuned by varying the Ca2+ quantity. 相似文献
Understanding semantic word shifts in scientific domains is essential for facilitating interdisciplinary communication. Using a data set of published papers in the field of information retrieval (IR), this paper studies the semantic shifts of words in IR based on mining per-word topic distribution over time. We propose that semantic word shifts not only occur over time, but also over topics. The shifts are examined from two perspectives, the topic-level and the context-level. According to the over-time word-topic distribution, stable words and unstable words are recognized. The diverging and converging trends in the unstable type reveal characteristics of the topic evolution process. The context-level shifts are further detected by similarities between word vectors. Our work associates semantic word shifts with the evolving of topics, which facilitates a better understanding of semantic word shifts from both topics and contexts. 相似文献
Research funding has been seen as one of the most important resource in the reward system of science. And usage of publications denotes an interesting perspective of user behavior in scientific communication. This study aims to address the relationship between funding and Usage Count, which is a new metrics item established on the platform of Web of Science. Full records of 300,010 articles published in 2013 were downloaded in October 2015, and divided into six disciplines, including information science library science, education educational research, economics, computer science, materials science, and chemistry. Seven indicators were proposed to measure the impact, including Funding rate, Citation per paper, Usage rate, Usage per paper, Citation difference, Usage difference, and Conversion rate. It concluded funding has impact on usage and citation, and funded papers attract more usage, but varying in different disciplines. Usage Count can be used in the extension of citation metrics but with limits. This study originally engages with usage metrics and detected that there is positive correlation between usage and funding. 相似文献
