In this study, a novel incremental supervised neural network (ISNN) is proposed for the segmentation of medical images. Performance of the ISNN is investigated for tissue segmentation in medical images obtained from various imaging modalities. Two feature extraction methods based on transform and moments are comparatively investigated to segment the tissues in medical images. Two-dimensional (2D) continuous wavelet transform (CWT) and the moments of the gray-level histogram (MGH) are computed in order to form the feature vectors of ultrasound (US) bladder and phantom images, X-ray computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) head images. In the 2D-CWT method, feature vectors are formed by the intensity of one pixel of each wavelet-plane of different energy bands. The MGH represents the tissues within the sub-windows by using the spatial variation of image intensities. In this study, the ISNN and Grow and Learn (GAL) network are employed for the segmentation task. It is observed that the ISNN has significantly eliminated the disadvantages of the GAL network in the segmentation of the medical images.  相似文献

This paper presents an approach to improve the performance of intelligent sliding model control achieved by the use of a fundamental constituent of soft computing, named Adaptive Linear Element (ADALINE). The proposed scheme is based on the fractional calculus. A previously considered tuning scheme is revised according to the rules of fractional order differintegration. After a comparison with the integer order counterpart, it is seen that the control system with the proposed adaptation scheme provides (1) better tracking performance, (2) suppression of undesired drifts in parameter evolution and (3) a very high degree of robustness and insensitivity to disturbances. The claims are justified through some simulations utilizing the dynamic model of a two degrees of freedom (DOF) direct drive robot arm and overall, the contribution of the paper is to introduce the fractional order calculus into a robust and nonlinear control problem with some outperforming features that are absent when the integer order differintegration operators are adopted.  相似文献

Chattering in the control signal is a significant problem in sliding mode control (SMC). The boundary layer approach is one of the many modifications proposed in the literature to avoid the chattering. In this approach, instead of the discontinuous SMC, a continuous feedback control law is employed in a boundary layer around the sliding surface. The thickness of the boundary layer is an important design parameter. This paper proposes a fuzzy online tuning method to adjust the boundary layer thickness for the best system performance without chattering. The method features the measurement of the chattering in the control signal. The paper validates the performance of the algorithm by experiments on a direct drive robot with a range of different payloads.  相似文献

The dynamics of the erbium doped fiber laser is analysed both experimentally and theoretically. This laser operates spontaneously in self-pulsing, in sinusoidal or in CW regime. Experiments have allowed to determine the control parameters : the cavity losses, the pumping rate and the ion pairs concentration. An antiphase dynamics is observed when the laser operates simultaneously at 1.55 µn and 1.536 µm. The self-pulsing behavior is attributed to a fast energy transfer which occurs between two neighboring ions (pair induced quenching). A simple model considering the active medium as a mixture of isolated ions and ions pairs is developped and leads to a good qualitative agreement with the experimental results.  相似文献

Essentiale and Lipostabil contain "essential" phospholipids from the soybean, mainly 1,2-dilinoleoyl-phosphatidylcholine (CAS 998-06-1, DLPC) which is considered as the main active ingredient. A single oral dose of d15-DLPC loaded with deuterium 9 times in the choline and 6 times in the linoleic acid of the 1-position was given to volunteers. Sera from 11 blood samples taken within 48 h after application were examined by means of mass spectrometry with regard to d9-choline and d6-linoleic acid in the 1- and 2-position of serum phosphatidylcholines (PC) as well as in the serum triglycerides. d9-choline, i.e. the total of d15-PC and d9-PC, showed maximum values of 5.6% of the total serum PC concentration. Normally, about 1.3% of PC in the human serum is DLPC. Serum 1-linoleoyl-PC was increased by 32-40% after oral application of d15-DLPC. A minor uptake of d6-linoleic acid into the 2-position of serum PC, which is rich in linoleic acid, and into the serum triglycerides was observed with peak values of 2.3% and 6.1%, resp. The uptake of polyunsaturated PC species like DLPC and 1-linoleoyl-PC into the liver after oral application of drugs containing such species in high amounts like "essential" phospholipids with about 50% of DLPC let expect therapeutic effects on membranes into which this special species is incorporated.  相似文献

Conventional solid-state power amplifier (SSPA) design approach isolates radio frequency (RF) design from communication theory. In this paper, a unified SSPA design approach is proposed, which optimizes SSPA parameters (bias voltage and input RF signal power) to minimize total DC power consumption while satisfying received SNR constraint specified by the link budget. The effect of SSPA nonlinearity is quantified by the error vector magnitude measured at its output and the corresponding received SNR degradation is analyzed. Using the quantitative metrics for received SNR, it is possible to evaluate highly nonlinear SSPA classes such as Class-B or deep-Class AB, which are normally not considered in conventional SSPA design approach to be used in satellite communication applications.  相似文献

In this study, effects of embossing temperature, time, and force on production of a microfluidic device were investigated. Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) substrates were hot embossed by using a micromilled aluminum mold. The process parameters were altered to observe the variation of replication rate in width and depth as well as symmetry of the replicated microfluidic channels. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) on the experimental results indicated that embossing temperature was the most important process parameter, whereas embossing time and force have less impact. One distinguishing aspect of this study is that, the channels were observed to be skewed to either side of the channel depending on the location of the protrusions on the mold. The mechanism of the skewness was investigated by finite element analysis and discussed in detail. Results showed that the skewness depends on the flow characteristics of the material and could be reduced by increasing the embossing temperature. The best replication rates were obtained at parameter settings of 115°C, 10?kN, and 8?min for the molds with minimum 56?µm wide features of 120?µm depth. We also showed that the fabricated channels could be successfully sealed by solvent-assisted thermo-compressive bonding at 85°C under 5.5?kN force.  相似文献

Even though high quality graphene can be produced through chemical exfoliation of Graphite or Expanded graphite (EG), the amount of acquired products is limited. Graphite powders were subjected to a pre-milling process with prevailing shear stress in order to increase the amount of products. Therefore, separation of hexagonal layers through pre-separation process was targeted. The milled powders were firstly mixed in the saturated acid mixture containing H2SO4 and HNO3, and then heated to 950°C. At the end of process, the distance between layers was expanded and the structure called as expanded graphite was obtained. Separation of layers and formation of graphene were provided by stirring expanded graphite within a chemical solvent for a while. The obtained samples were examined by using X-ray analysis, electron microscopy analysis, and Raman spectroscopy analysis. Despite the fact that there is a production method for graphene by chemical exfoliation, addition of the milling into steps of this process is an unusual step. Although a great amount of amorphous structures occurred in the structure at the end of milling process in this study, there were still graphitic structures preserving its hexagonality in the sample even if just a little. Most of amorphous carbon was removed from the structure as a result of applying further steps of process to milled graphite. A great part of graphitic structures apart from amorphous carbon structures were transformed into graphene. Even though amorphous carbon structures and defects were still found in the product, the obtained graphenes were relatively qualified and of high amount.  相似文献
