PbWO4 single crystals were grown by the Czochralski method in argon and air. The glow curves induced by UV light and the absorption spectra of PbWO4 annealed at various temperatures were measured. The glow curves of PbWO4 were strongly dependent on the growing atmospheres. The activation energies of the 110 K peak of PbWO4 grown in argon and the 122 K peak of PbWO4 grown in air were calculated to be 0.23 eV and 0.29 eV, respectively. The ratio of the 2.76 eV emission band to the 2.48 eV or 2.26 eV emission bands of the PbWO4 grown in air was smaller than that of the PbWO4 grown in argon. The glow curve of PbWO4 grown in argon was similar to that of PbWO4 grown in air when the annealing temperatures were increased.  相似文献

Ray tracing requires many ray-object intersection tests. A way of reducing the number of ray-object intersection tests is to subdivide the space occupied by objects into many nonoverlapping subregions, called voxels, and to construct an octree for the subdivided space. We propose the Octree-R, an octree-variant data structure for efficient ray tracing. The algorithm for constructing the Octree-R first estimates the number of ray-object intersection tests. Then, it partitions the space along the plane that minimizes the estimated number of ray-object intersection tests. We present the results of experiments for verifying the effectiveness of the Octree-R. In the experiment, the Octree-R provides a 4% to 47% performance gain over the conventional octree. The result shows the more skewed the object distribution (as is typical for real data), the more performance gain the Octree-R achieves  相似文献

In this paper, an algorithm is proposed for subsequence matching that supports normalization transform in time-series databases. Normalization transform enables finding sequences with similar fluctuation patterns even though they are not close to each other before the normalization transform. Simple application of existing subsequence matching algorithms to support normalization transform is not feasible since the algorithms do not have information for normalization transform of subsequences of arbitrary lengths. Application of the existing whole matching algorithm supporting normalization transform to the subsequence matching is feasible, but requires an index for every possible length of the query sequence causing serious overhead on both storage space and update time. The proposed algorithm generates indexes only for a small number of different lengths of query sequences. For subsequence matching it selects the most appropriate index among them. Better search performance can be obtained by using more indexes. In this paper, the approach is called index interpolation. It is formally proved that the proposed algorithm does not cause false dismissal. The search performance can be traded off with storage space by adjusting the number of indexes. For performance evaluation, a series of experiments is conducted using the indexes for only five different lengths out of lengths 256512 of the query sequence. The results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the sequential scan by up to 2.4 times on the average when the selectivity of the query is 10–2 and up to 14.6 times when it is 10–5. Since the proposed algorithm performs better with smaller selectivities, it is suitable for practical situations, where the queries with smaller selectivities are much more frequent.  相似文献

Abstract  Although animations are believed to be effective in learning and teaching, several studies have failed to confirm this. Nevertheless, animations might be more attractive and motivating. Fourth and sixth grade students learned the operation of a bicycle pump from graphics that were: (i) presented simultaneously; (ii) presented successively; (iii) self-paced, or (iv) animated. The presentation mode affected evaluation of perceived comprehensibility, interestingness, enjoyment and motivation, but not comprehension test score. Fourth graders who were low in need for cognition rated the animations as more enjoyable and motivating, whereas sixth graders rated self-paced graphics as more interesting and motivating. The evaluations of sixth graders correspond to results of many studies on learning. Animations are not more effective than equivalent static graphics in learning, and they are not seen as more motivating by sixth graders.  相似文献

This paper presents a stair-climbing mobile platform built on the Rocker–Bogie mechanism which enables to effectively climb up/down various sizes of stairs in indoor environments without violating its mobile stability. First, the link parameters of Rocker–Bogie mechanism are optimally chosen via the Taguchi method in order to make the trajectory of its center of mass (CM) as smooth as possible, which implies high mobile stability as well as excellent adaptability during climbing up/down stairs. Based on this optimization result, the proposed mobile platform is compactly and lightly constructed suitable for indoor applications by placing all motors and sensors inside the hollow links in order to prevent undesired interferences with stairs as well as to protect themselves from external impact. A simple, robust and cost-effective estimation algorithm is proposed to detect the contact angles between wheels and a stair with high fidelity. Through the kinematic and kinetic analysis combined with the wheel-stair contact angle information, a composite locomotive strategy is established not only to minimize the slip during climbing up a stair but also to prevent falling down during climbing down a stair. The extensive experiments against various types of stairs successfully demonstrate the capability of the proposed mobile platform to effectively and safely climb up/down stairs.  相似文献

Entity resolution (ER) (also known as deduplication or merge-purge) is a process of identifying records that refer to the same real-world entity and merging them together. In practice, ER results may contain “inconsistencies,” either due to mistakes by the match and merge function writers or changes in the application semantics. To remove the inconsistencies, we introduce “negative rules” that disallow inconsistencies in the ER solution (ER-N). A consistent solution is then derived based on the guidance from a domain expert. The inconsistencies can be resolved in several ways, leading to accurate solutions. We formalize ER-N, treating the match, merge, and negative rules as black boxes, which permits expressive and extensible ER-N solutions. We identify important properties for the rules that, if satisfied, enable less costly ER-N. We develop and evaluate two algorithms that find an ER-N solution based on guidance from the domain expert: the GNR algorithm that does not assume the properties and the ENR algorithm that exploits the properties.  相似文献

Nd-doped Bi4Ge3O12 (Nd:BGO) crystals were successfully grown in the auto-diameter control system equipped with a frequency weighing sensor with the Czochralski method. The Nd3+ ion doping level was varied from 0.25 to 2.5 at.%. The crystals were transparent and of light purple color, with a typical size of about 20 mm in diameter and 50 mm in length. The effective distribution coefficient (keff) of Nd3+ ion was about 0.957 irrespective of concentration, and the Nd3+ ions were distributed homogeneously throughout the crystal. The doping concentration (pi) of active ion in Nd:BGO crystal was 2.54x1020 ions/cm3, which is higher than that in the Nd:YAG crystal. Therefore, the Nd:BGO crystal was judged to be more suitable for the laser diode pumping microchip laser material where size reduction was desirable.  相似文献

The characteristics of monolithically integrated 780 nm/650 nm-band self-sustained pulsating (SSP) lasers with silicon nitride current blocking layers are reported. The record low operating current of 60 mA at 5 mW, 70/spl deg/C and a characteristic temperature of 90 K over 20 to 70/spl deg/C were obtained from the 650 nm-band SSP lasers. The attenuation factor of the visibility was observed to be as low as 0.3, which ensures SSP operations of the dual-mode lasers.  相似文献
