A study has been carried out to investigate the tensile, flexural and dielectric properties of composites made by reinforcing vakka as a new natural fibre into a polyester resin matrix. The fibres extracted by retting and manual processes have been used to fabricate the composites. These composites are tested for tensile, flexural and dielectric properties and compared with those of established composites like sisal, bamboo and banana made under the same laboratory conditions. The composites are fabricated up to a maximum volume fraction of fibre of 0.37 in the case of tensile testing, and 0.39 for flexural and dielectric testing. It has been observed that the tensile properties increase with respect to volume fraction of fibre for vakka fibre composite and are also more than those of sisal and banana composites and comparable to those of bamboo composites. The flexural strength of vakka fibre composite is more than that of banana composite and is closer to sisal fibre composite with respect to the volume fraction of fibre, where as the flexural modulus is much higher than those of banana and sisal fibre composites and also very much closer to bamboo fibre composites. The dielectric strength of vakka fibre composite increases with increase in volume fraction of fibre in the composite unlike the case of sisal, bamboo and banana composites. The dielectric strength being a unique feature of vakka fibre composite, can be suggested for electrical insulation applications.  相似文献

Curing characteristics of blends of a hydroxyl‐functionalized dendritic hyperbranched polymer (HBP) and a triglycidyl p‐amino phenol (TGAP) epoxy resin have been studied. THe HBP strongly enhances the curing rate owing to the catalytic effect of the hydroxyl groups. THe thermal and dynamic viscoelastic behavior of the blends of various compositions (HBP content 0–20%) have been examined and compared to the neat TGAP matrix. THe glass transition temperature (Tg) gradually decreases with increase in HBP concentration. The blends show a higher impact strength compared to neat TGAP. Scanning electron microscopy analysis indicates a single‐phase morphology.  相似文献

In the present study, solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) have been formulated as a carrier system for effective intracellular delivery of STAT3 inhibitor, niclosamide (Niclo) to triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells. Emulsification-solvent evaporation method was employed in formulation of Niclo-loaded SLNs (Niclo-SLNs). The formula of Niclo-SLN was optimized by Box–Behnken design and characterized for their shape, size, and surface charge. The in vitro anti-cancer efficacy of Niclo-SLNs was studied in TNBC cells. The prepared Niclo-SLNs were found to be spherical with the particle size of 112.18?±?1.73?nm and zetapotential of 23.8?±?2.7?mV. In the in vitro anticancer study the Niclo SLNs show a better cytotoxicity than the naïve Niclo, which is attributed to improved cell uptake of SLN formulation. In conclusion, the results of the present study demonstrate that the formulation of Niclo as SLNs will improve the anticancer efficacy against TNBC.  相似文献

Epoxy/clay nanocomposites were prepared using a conventional diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) epoxy, cured with diethyltoluene diamine (DETDA). The nanocomposites were characterized by dynamic mechanical analysis. A modest increase in glass transition temperature and significant increase in storage modulus were achieved as a result of incorporation of clay. The formation of nanocomposite was confirmed by wide‐angle X‐ray analysis. The higher impact strength of the nanocomposite compared the DGEBA matrix was explained in terms of with the morphology observed by SEM. © 2003 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

RP-HPLC and UV Spectroscopy methods for the quantitation of ambroxol hydrochloride in syrups have been developed. Both methods were precise and accurate. A number of inactive ingredients present in the synthetic syrup did not interfere with the assay procedures. Although the methods had also good recovery for commercial syrups, but it was difficult to determine which method was more accurate than the other.  相似文献

Increasing globalization, growing product range diversity, and rising consumer awareness are making markets highly competitive, forcing supply chains to adapt constantly to different stimuli. Growing competition between supply chains (as well as players within them) is also warranting a priority for overall supply chain performance over the goals of individual players. It is now well established in the literature that, among the many order winners, both overall supply chain cost and responsiveness (i.e., supply chain lead time) are the most significant determinants of supply chain competitiveness. The literature, however, mostly focuses on supply chain cost minimization with rather simplistic treatment of responsiveness. By introducing the concept of a coefficient of inverse responsiveness (CIR), we facilitate efficient introduction of responsiveness related costs into the scheme of supply chain (SC) performance evaluation and/or optimization. Thus, our model aids supply chain managers in achieving better strategic fit between individual business unit strategies and overall supply chain requirements in terms of cost efficiency and responsiveness. In particular, it aids in strategic placement of safety stocks at different stages in the supply chain. Our model also offers managerial insights that help improve our intuitions into supply chain dynamics. The model is more suited for strategic SC alignment, for example, when dealing with product changeovers or introduction of new product, rather than for operational control.  相似文献

Global competition and increasing customer expectations are forcing automobile manufacturers to improve their operations. Maintenance, being one of the most critical components in many industries, has a direct impact on the improvement of the overall production performance. In this paper, we introduce an anticipative plant-level maintenance decision support system (APMDSS) that provides guidance on corrective and preventive maintenance priorities based on the equipment bottleneck ranks with the objective of improving daily plant throughput. APMDSS anticipates the plant dynamics (i.e. bottlenecks, hourly buffer levels and likelihood of machine breakdowns) for upcoming shifts using starting state information of the production shift (e.g. equipment maintenance history, operational status of machines, buffer levels and scheduled production model mix). We also evaluate the performance of APMDSS using real data from an automotive body shop experiencing routine throughput difficulties due to frequent machine breakdowns. The results are compared with other methods from the literature and found to be superior in many settings.  相似文献

One new and three already described azobased methacrylate monomers with methoxy and nitro end groups and spacer length 2 and 6 were synthesized. These monomers were copolymerized with methyl methacrylate and the monomers as well as copolymers were characterized by classical spectroscopy techniques (FTIR, NMR, and UV‐VIS), gel permeation chromatography (GPC), elemental analysis and thermal analysis (TGA and DSC). The glass transition temperature of the polymers was found to be above room temperature and thermal decomposition temperatures above 100°C. All the polymers were amorphous in nature and formed excellent homogeneous films with good optical transparency. The polymer films coated on indium tin oxide glass slides were poled and their order parameters were calculated to check the stability of oriented dipoles. Few samples were also studied for their second harmonic generation properties. A series of carboxyl‐terminated poly(ethylene glycol) adipate (CTPEGA) was synthesized by polycondensation of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) of various molecular weights (“2000,” “4000,” “6000,” “8000,” “10,000” g/mol) and adipic acid. CTPEGA was incorporated into the epoxy by a prereaction method. The CTPEGA and modified epoxy samples were thoroughly characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, 1H NMR spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, and gel permeation chromatography. The effects of molecular weight of CTPEGA on thermomechanical and viscoelastic properties of the modified epoxy networks were investigated. Maximum improvement in impact strength was found for the epoxy network modified with CTPEGA containing PEG of molecular weight 2000 g/mol. With further increase in molecular weight of CTPEGA, the impact strength of the modified network decreases. However, in case of higher molecular weight CTPEGA, the improvement in toughness was achieved without any reduction in Tg due to the complete phase separation.
