The thermal conductivity of polycrystalline Al-doped ZnO was controlled through the fabrication of nanostructured polycrystalline materials, by hot-pressing nanosized Zn1– x Al x O ( x = 0.01, 0.02) particles, which were synthesized by a coprecipitation and spray-drying method. This process resulted in an improved thermoelectric power factor because of the nanosized Zn0.99Al0.01O particles of the polycrystalline products. The thermal conductivity also was decreased as a result of the formation of nanocrystalline Zn0.99Al0.01O.  相似文献

A geometrically nonlinear buffeting analysis of a cable-stayed bridge in the time domain is described. The bridge structure is modeled with three-dimensional thin-walled beam elements and three-dimensional elastic catenary cable elements. Spatially correlated wind velocity fluctuations are modeled and simulated using an algorithm for generating sample functions of a stationary, multivariate stochastic process according to its prescribed cross-spectral density matrix. Aerodynamic damping and aerodynamic stiffness are formulated based on experimentally determined flutter derivatives. The focus of this paper is on the effect of fluctuating components of the spatially correlated wind velocity on the geometrically nonlinear buffeting response for an 870 m cable-stayed bridge.  相似文献

This study utilizes remotely sensed pre- and post-disaster images in order to detect any change specifically associated with structural and major regional damage caused by natural disasters such as a strong earthquake. Currently, postdisaster reconnaissance is conducted using mostly ground-truth teams. Although by using this method high-resolution assessment can be provided, it is very time consuming, costly and sometimes not practical. This study investigates an unsupervised near near-time method of reconnaissance using a pair of coregistered remotely sensed images of the same scene acquired at different times as input. The output is an image (mostly binary) in which “changed” pixels are separated from “not-changed” ones. The approach is fully deterministic using principal component analysis, normalization and further setting a threshold to classify pixels. For verification, a set of multispectral images from Golcuk-Turkey 1999 earthquake was used. It is concluded the program generates very similar results as obtained by ground-truth teams.  相似文献

Dysregulation of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNFα), a pro-inflammatory cytokine, causes several diseases, making it an important therapeutic target. Here, we identified a novel DNA aptamer against human TNFα using in vitro selection, which included a high exclusion pressure process against non-binding and weak binders through microbead-assisted capillary electrophoresis (MACE) in only three rounds. Among the 15 most enriched aptamers, Apt14 exhibited the highest inhibitory activity for the interaction between TNFα and its cognate receptor in mouse L929 cells. For further improving the bioactivity of the aptamer, dimerization programed by hybridization was evaluated, resulting in the Apt14 dimer exhibited a twofold higher binding affinity and stronger inhibition compared to the monomer counterpart. Rapid identification of bioactive aptamers using MACE in combination with facile dimerization by hybridization accelerates the discovery of novel bioactive aptamers, paving the way toward replacing current monoclonal antibody therapy with the less expensive and non-immunogenic aptamer therapy.  相似文献

Well-defined La2Sn2O7 with a phase-pure pyrochlore structure was produced by hydrothermal synthesis at temperatures as low as 200°C. Production of phase-pure La2Sn2O7 requires a pH above 10, and higher pH accelerates the crystallization process. The synthesis produced spherical particles of average particle size ∼0.59 μm (±0.12) and surface area ∼14.1 m2/g. SEM and TEM observation for morphologic evolution and kinetic analysis during crystallization indicated that La2Sn2O7 formation probably proceeds via a two-step reaction. First a transient dissolution–precipitation occurs. Then the primary crystallites aggregate because of their colloidal instability, and heterocoagulation with the lanthanum hydrous oxide precursor particles also occurs. The sluggish reaction rate at the later stage of reaction is characterized by an in situ transformation, where the soluble tin species is diffused through the porous La2Sn2O7 aggregates to react with entrapped lanthanum precursors.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the estimation of the coefficient of a stochastic regression model whose explanatory variables and disturbances are permitted to exhibit short-memory or long-memory dependence. Three estimators of the coefficient are proposed. A variety of their asymptotics are illuminated under various assumptions on the explanatory variables and the disturbances. Numerical studies of the theoretical results are given. They show some unexpected aspects of the asymptotics of the three estimators.  相似文献

The present review paper supports the approach to deliver melatonin and to target melatonin receptors for neuroprotection in stroke. We discuss laboratory evidence demonstrating neuroprotective effects of exogenous melatonin treatment and transplantation of melatonin-secreting cells in stroke. In addition, we describe a novel mechanism of action underlying the therapeutic benefits of stem cell therapy in stroke, implicating the role of melatonin receptors. As we envision the clinical entry of melatonin-based therapeutics, we discuss translational experiments that warrant consideration to reveal an optimal melatonin treatment strategy that is safe and effective for human application.  相似文献

Presently, it has become an urgent and important concern worldwide to reduce the volume of waste and rationally use the waste for electric power generation. Sludge is a dominant part in the family of wastes. Drying of sludge, not only for volume reduction but also for further utilization, is becoming an essential and integral process. On the other hand, as the requirement of new materials production, for example, fine particles of micron or sub-micron scale for advanced materials, some new drying technologies and techniques have emerged. The market-pull may be the direct and active impetus to drying research and development (R&D). In this paper, drying technologies for sludges, fine particles, coatings as well as advanced dewatering are discussed to reflect the “hot” points of drying and dewatering R&D in Japan. The structure development in the continuous laser-heated drawing process of poly(ethylene 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylate) (PEN) fiber was analyzed by in-situ X-ray diffraction measurement. Because of the rapid and uniform laser heating, and the resultant steady-state nature of the necking-drawing, the structure development after the on-set of necking could be measured in the time resolution of several hundred microseconds. We found for the first time the temporal appearance of meridional (001′) diffraction at several milliseconds after the on-set of necking indicating that the mesophase structure similar to the one reported for poly(ethylene terephthalate) was also formed in the initial stage of fiber structure development of PEN. The d-spacing of the (001′) diffraction 1.230 ± 0.003 nm was shorter than the c-axis lengths of both α and β crystals.  相似文献
