Because of the practical limitations of the energy and processing capabilities, the deployment of many Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is facing two main challenges of increasing network lifetime and reducing End to End Delay (EED) which become critical when the nodes are mobile and use non‐rechargeable energy sources. One way to help to extend network lifetime is using fuzzy logic in a form of artificial intelligence. To this end we propose a new routing protocol for using mobile WSNs, which holds the nodes in an equal level of energy and decreases energy dissipation of the network. An optimum path is selected based on the cost of each node to increase network lifetime. In order to lessen EED, we also attempt to design a novel zoning‐scheme for the network area. In this scheme, zonation is dynamic and works based on the Data Link (DL) position. The simulation result shows a significant improvement in lifetime and EED by proposed protocol compared with existing protocols. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Efforts have been made for the development of high performance protective coating materials from non drying oil such as Pongamia glabra oil and their commercialization. Zn-containing self cured Pongamia glabra oil based polyesteramide [Zn-APGPEA] resin was synthesized in situ by the reaction of Pongamia glabra fatty amide diol [HEPGA], poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) [SMA] and zinc acetate (different ratios) at 100 ± 5 °C in the presence of an acid catalyst. The physico-chemical characterizations of the resin were carried out by standard laboratory methods. The structural elucidation of the prepared resin was carried out by FTIR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectral techniques. The thermal behavior was studied by TGA technique. Antibacterial activity was measured by agar diffusion method against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The effect of the loading of zinc on properties of Zn-APGPEA film was also investigated. The properties of Zn-APGPEA compared with reported self cured Pongamia glabra polyesteramide [APGPEA]. Physico-mechanical and chemical/corrosion resistance test of Zn-APGPEA coatings showed that the presence of zinc metal in APGPEA considerably enhances the overall film performance and also improves antibacterial activity. Therefore, Zn-APGPEA can be used as an anti-corrosive and antibacterial coatings material which may substitute polymers obtained from petroleum.  相似文献

In this study, an addition of Ag micro-particles (8-10 μm) with a content in the range between 0 and 1.5 wt.% to Sn-9Zn eutectic solder, were examined in order to understand the effect of Ag additions as the particulate reinforcement on the microstructural and mechanical properties as well as the thermal behavior of the newly developed composite solders. Here, an approach to prepare a micro-composite solder alloy by mixing Ag micro-particles with a molten Sn-Zn solder alloy was developed. The composite solder was prepared by mechanically mixing Ag micro-particles into the Sn-9Zn alloy melt to ensure a homogeneous distribution of the reinforcing particles. The distribution of the Ag micro-particles in the matrix was found to be fairly uniform. The Ag particles reacted with the Zn and formed ε-AgZn3 intermetallic compounds (IMC) in the β-Sn matrix. It was found that the more Ag particles added to the Sn-9Zn solder, the more Ag-Zn compound formed. In the Sn-9Zn/XAg composite solder, the microstructure was composed of AgZn3 IMC and α-Zn phase in the β-Sn matrix. Interestingly, as the Ag particles in the composite solder increased, the α-Zn phase was found to be depleted from the matrix. The average tensile strength of the composite solders increased with the Ag micro-particles content up to a certain limit. Beyond this limit, the addition of Ag particles actually decreased the strength.  相似文献

Nano-sized, nonreacting, noncoarsening Al2O3 particles have been incorporated into eutectic Sn–Zn solder alloys to investigate the microstructure, hardness and shear strength on Au/Ni metallized Cu pads ball grid array substrate (BGA). In the plain Sn–Zn solder joint and solder joints containing Al2O3 nano-particles, a scallop-shaped AuZn3 intermetallic compound layer was found at the interfaces. In the solder joints containing Al2O3 nano-particles, a fine acicular-shaped Zn-rich phase and Al2O3 nano-particles were found to be homogeneously distributed in the β-Sn matrix. The shear strengths and hardness of solder joints containing higher percentage of Al2O3 nano-particles exhibited consistently higher value than those of plain solder joint and solder joints containing lower percentage of Al2O3 nano-particles due to control the fine microstructure as well as homogeneous distribution of Al2O3 nano-particles acting as a second phase dispersion strengthening mechanism. The fracture surfaces of plain Sn–Zn solder joints exhibited a brittle fracture mode with smooth surfaces while Sn–Zn solder joints containing Al2O3 nano-particles showed a typical ductile failure with very rough dimpled surfaces.  相似文献

A novel method of enhancing compatibility in PVC/ABS blends is the use of ABS‐grafted‐(maleic anhydride) (ABS‐g‐MAH) as a compatibilizer. In this study, maleic anhydride was grafted onto ABS (initiated by peroxide) in an internal mixer. Grafting degree was determined by a back‐titration method, and certain amounts of the resultant ABS‐g‐MAH were added to PVC/ABS blends during their melt blending in the mixer. The weight ratio of PVC to ABS was kept at 70:30. Evaluation of compatibilization was accomplished via tensile and notched Izod impact tests, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and rheological studies. According to the SEM micrographs, better dispersion of the rubber phase and its finer size in properly compatibilized blends were indications of better compatibility. Besides, in the presence of a proper amount [5 parts per hundred parts of PVC (php)] of ABS‐g‐MAH, PVC/ABS blends showed significantly higher impact strengths than uncompatibilized blends. This result, in turn, would be an indication of better compatibility. In the presence of 5 php of compatibilizer, the higher complex viscosity and storage modulus, as well as a lower loss modulus and loss factor in the range of frequency studied, indicated stronger interfacial adhesion as a result of interaction between maleic anhydride and the PVC‐SAN matrix. A new moment-modified polynomial dimensional decomposition (PDD) method is presented for stochastic multiscale fracture analysis of three-dimensional, particle-matrix, functionally graded materials (FGMs) subject to arbitrary boundary conditions. The method involves Fourier-polynomial expansions of component functions by orthonormal polynomial bases, an additive control variate in conjunction with Monte Carlo simulation for calculating the expansion coefficients, and a moment-modified random output to account for the effects of particle locations and geometry. A numerical verification conducted on a two-dimensional FGM reveals that the new method, notably the univariate PDD method, produces the same crude Monte Carlo results with a five-fold reduction in the computational effort. The numerical results from a three-dimensional, edge-cracked, FGM specimen under a mixed-mode deformation demonstrate that the statistical moments or probability distributions of crack-driving forces and the conditional probability of fracture initiation can be efficiently generated by the univariate PDD method. There exist significant variations in the probabilistic characteristics of the stress-intensity factors and fracture-initiation probability along the crack front. Furthermore, the results are insensitive to the subdomain size from concurrent multiscale analysis, which, if selected judiciously, leads to computationally efficient estimates of the probabilistic solutions.  相似文献

This paper evaluates the impact of climate change, as projected by two Global Climate Models (GCMs) on the occurrence of extreme precipitation events in the Upper Thames River Basin in the Canadian province of Ontario. The modelling approach presented herein involves a two-stage process of generating daily weather data followed by disaggregation to an hourly time step of select variables for some events. Monthly change fields for three weather variables (maximum temperature, minimum temperature, and precipitation) were obtained from the output of two GCMs. The historical data set is modified by applying change fields to the weather variables simultaneously and then using this as the driving data set for an improved K-nearest neighbour weather-generating model. Weather sequences representative of climatic conditions in 2050 were simulated. Disaggregation of precipitation data is carried out using a new method that is a hybrid key site approach. A distinct practical advantage of the approach presented here is that extreme wet and dry spells are simulated, which is crucial for evaluation of effective flood and drought management policies for the basin.  相似文献

Network coding and cooperative diversity have each extensively been explored in the literature as a means to substantially improve the performance of wireless networks. Yet, little work has been conducted to compare their performance under a common framework. Our goal in this paper is to fill in this gap. Specifically, we consider a single-hop wireless network consisting of a base station and N receivers. We perform an asymptotic analysis, as N → ∞, of the expected delay associated with the broadcasting of a file consisting of K packets. We show that if K is fixed, cooperation outperforms network coding, in the sense that the expected delay is proportional to K (and thus within a constant factor of the optimal delay) in the former case while it grows logarithmically with N in the latter case. On the other hand, if K grows with N at a rate at least as fast as (logN)r, for r ≫ 1, then we show that the average delay of network coding is also proportional to K and lower than the average delay of cooperation if the packet error probability is smaller than 0.36. Our analytical findings are validated through extensive numerical simulations.  相似文献

The present article highlights some preliminary investigations on the role of oxidant and medium on the nanostructured morphology of poly (1-naphthylamine) (PNA) prepared via chemical oxidative polymerization. Results revealed that the nano morphology can be controlled under appropriate preparative conditions. The particle sizes were obtained in the range of 5–50 nm exhibiting a much smaller range than polyaniline (PANI) nanoparticles synthesized under similar conditions.  相似文献
