Synthesis of organic boron compounds and their use to stabilize polyethylene terephthalate

Conclusions The possibility of using aromatic esters of boric acid as thermostabilizers for polyethylene terephthalate has been investigated.It has been found that the use of borates containing a naphthyl or p-hydroxyphenyl group as thermostabilizers makes it possible to obtain a polyethylene terephthalate with improved mechanical properties and an increased thermal stability.Translated from Khimicheskie Volokna, No. 6, pp. 24–26, November–December, 1986.     

Thermal characteristics of a ventilated granular bed

The rate of heat removal by a gas current in a ventilated granular bed has been estimated and measured.     

Effect of sweet pepper, enriched with selenium, on the transplantable Ehrlich carcinoma in mice

Effect of sweet pepper enriched and non-enriched with Se on Ehrlich carcinoma growth at Balb/c mice was investigated. 1000 mg/kg of both preparations of sweet pepper (per os administration for mice of 9 months age) inhibited an early stage of tumour growth on 42-62% and 37-65% respectively. No effect on tumour growth was registered for 4 months mice.
