We report on a feasibility study on precise determination of mass-specific activity of low-energy emitting radioisotopes. Conventional methods of activity measurement suffer from source self-absorption and a strong decrease in detection efficiency for low-energy electrons and photons. We propose a new method based on metallic magnetic microcalorimeters with the source embedded in the detector target in a 4π geometry. First results with a 55Fe source show that electrons and photons are detected with a detection efficiency close to unity and with little loss of energy for electrons. The aim of this study is to provide standards of activity with very low uncertainties in the framework of radiation metrology.  相似文献

To be able to perform more realistic simulations of timber constructions with modern numerical simulation methods like the finite element method (FEM), a suitable constitutive material model is required. Such a material model was developed by Mackenzie-Helnwein et al. (2005) for clear spruce wood. This paper presents an application-oriented adaption and usage of the mentioned material model, its implementation in a FE software as well as performing ultimate load analyses using FEM and the validation of the material model by means of the comparison of results of FE Simulations and experiments on the structure level (Fleischmann 2005). Further, some aspects with respect to the standardisation are discussed in one of the two examples.  相似文献

A study has been made of the cathodic deposition of copper ions from flowing dilute aqueous solutions onto a packed bed of graphite. The electrodeposition reaction is mass transfer controlled and expressions are presented for the cathodic current as a function of time, solution flow rate and bed characteristics. These have been verified from potentiostatic experiments. The cathode current efficiency is shown to approach 100% and packed bed electrodes are shown to be an effective means of extracting or removing metal ions from dilute solutions.  相似文献

The kinetics of the silver (I)/silver (II) couple have been studied in 3 M nitric acid and 3 M perchloric acid at a platinum electrode. It has been found that silver (II) can be produced in high current yields in a fast electrode reaction although the conversion of silver (I) to silver (II) is limited by the chemical reaction of silver (II) with water. It has also been shown that silver (I) can successfully be used as a catalyst or current carrier in the anodic oxidation of organic and inorganic substrates.  相似文献

This study evaluted the potential of contrast-enhanced digital-subtraction magnetic resonance angiography (CE-DS-MRA) for noninvasive angiographic delineation of the arterial supply of the penis in patients with erectile dysfunction. After induction of an erection with prostaglandin E, a three-dimensional fast imaging with steady-state precision (FISP) sequence with TE of 1.8–2 milliseconds, TR of 4.4–5 milliseconds, and flip angle of 40°–60° was used to obtain high-resolution angiograms of the pelvis and penis during the injection of gadolinium diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (Gd-DTPA) 0.3 mmol/kg body weight, within 30–50 seconds. DS maximum intensity projections (MIPs) and multiplanar reconstructions (MPRs) were compared with clinical work-up and directional Doppler ultrasound in 11 patients. In all 11 patients (100%), the arterial supply of the penis could be delineated from the aortic bifurcation via the iliac and internal pudendal arteries to the dorsal and deep penile arteries. Of the 22 internal pudendal arteries, 6 (27%) were occluded on CE-DS-MRA and 5 (23%) had stenoses, of which 4 (18%) were greater than 50%. In 7 patients (64%) good correlation between CE-DS-MRA and clinical findings and/or Doppler ultrasound was found; in 2 patients (18%), the correlation was moderate, and in 2 patients (18%) results were discrepant. In 6 patients (55%), MRA provided additional information to the clinical and Doppler ultrasound work-up. CE-DS-MRA can delineate small sessels such as the internal pudendal and penile arteries and thus has the potential to become a noninvasive angiography method in the work-up of erectile impotence. A new polymerizable 1,1′‐bi‐2‐naphthol derivative for polymer‐supported catalytic asymmetric synthesis is presented. The synthesis is conducted within a single reaction step, which is a major advantage over other approaches presented in the literature. The ligand‐bearing polymer is prepared through copolymerization with N‐isopropylacrylamide. Preliminary experiments on the utility in catalytic asymmetric alkylation reactions reveal the accessibility and activity of the polymer‐attached catalysts. The stereoselectivity of the reaction is found to be somewhat lower than for reactions performed in the presence of free 1,1′‐bi‐2‐naphthol, and thus requires further optimization. The enantiomeric excess of the reaction products was determined via 1H NMR spectroscopy after chiral derivatization with (R)‐α‐methylbenzyl isocyanate. © 2015 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

In the strategic design of a distribution system, the right number of stock points for the various products is an important question. In the past decade, a strong trend in the consumer goods industry led to centralizing the inventory in a single echelon consisting of a few parallel warehouses or even a single distribution center for a Europe-wide distribution system. Centralizing inventory is justified by the reduction in total stock which mostly overcompensates the increasing transportation cost. The effect of centralization is usually described by the “Square Root Law”, stating that the total stock increases with the square root of the number of stock points. However, in the usual case where the warehouses are replenished in full truck loads and where a given fill rate has to be satisfied, the Square Root Law is not valid. This paper explores that case. It establishes functional relationships between the demand to be served by a warehouse and the necessary safety and cycle stock for various demand settings and control policies, using an approximation of the normal loss function and its inverse. As a consequence, the impact of the number of parallel warehouses on the total stock can be derived. The results can be used as tools in network design models.  相似文献
