One of the effective techniques for improving separation properties of polymeric membranes is incorporation of suitable nanoparticles into their matrices. This study presents the preparation of three types of nanocomposite membranes comprising three grades of poly (ether-block-amide) (Pebax 1074, Pebax 1657 and Pebax 2533) and modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) with different loadings (1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5 wt%). The prepared membranes were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), attenuated total reflection-Fourier transfer infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Permeation of CO2 and CH4 gases through the prepared membranes was measured at the pressure range of 2-8 bars and 25 °C. The results showed that the incorporation of MWCNTs into the polymers matrices improves CO2/CH4 selectivity. Further, Pebax 1074/MWCNT nanocomposite membrane exhibits better performance for CO2/CH4 separation compared to the neat Pebax and the two other nanocomposite membranes. 相似文献

In this paper, we discuss the synthesis and characterization of tungsten trioxide nanoparticles prepared by the arc discharge method in deionized (DI) water. The size and morphology of WO(3) nanoparticles prepared using different arc currents (25, 35 and 45?A) were studied. Dynamic light scattering (DLS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) results indicate that at an arc current of 25?A, the size of the particles is about 30?nm, and this increases to 64?nm by increasing the arc current. This size increase caused a decrease of optical band gap from 2.9 to 2.6?eV. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) spectra demonstrate the formation of the WO(3) phase. Photodegradation of Rhodamine B shows that samples prepared at the lowest current have more photocatalytic activity due to having the smallest particle size and highest surface area. The results demonstrate the ability of the arc discharge method for direct formation of WO(3) nanoparticles in DI?water medium. 相似文献

We report a new method of growing Mn-doped CdS (CdS:Mn) nanoparticles in an aqueous solution at boiling temperature. The idea is to use precursors that react only at high temperature, in order to gain crystalline luminescent nanoparticles. CdSO(4), Mn(NO(3))(2) and Na(2)S(2)O(3) were used as the precursors, and thioglycerol was employed as the capping agent and also the reaction catalyst. Na(2)S(2)O(3) is thermally sensitive and it releases S(2-) ions upon heating. The CdS:Mn nanoparticles obtained are about 4?nm in size and show both cubic and hexagonal crystalline phases with a ratio of 35% to 65%. The luminescence of nanoparticles contains a peak at 580?nm, which is related to Mn(2+) ions. Prolonged reaction time results in a decrease of the Mn luminescence peak to about 35% of the maximum value. We discuss the possible causes of the Mn peak reduction and attribute it to preferential dissolution of Mn ions into the solution due to shape reconfiguration of the nanoparticles. 相似文献

Voice service is very demanding in cognitive radio networks (CRNs). The available spectrum in a CRN for CR users varies owing to the presence of licensed users. On the other hand, voice packets are delay sensitive and can tolerate a limited amount of delay. This makes the support of voice traffic in a CRN a complicated task that can be achieved by devising necessary considerations regarding the various network functionalities. In this paper, the support of secondary voice users in a CRN is investigated. First, a novel packet scheduling scheme that can provide the required quality of service (QoS) to voice users is proposed. The proposed scheme utilizes the maximum packet transmission rate for secondary voice users by assigning each secondary user the channel with the best level of quality. Furthermore, an analytical framework developed for a performance analysis of the system, is described in which the effect of erroneous spectrum sensing on the performance of secondary voice users is also taken into account. The QoS parameters of secondary voice users, which were obtained analytically, are also detailed. The analytical results were verified through the simulation, and will provide helpful insight in supporting voice services in a CRN. 相似文献

This paper presents a novel modified interactive honey bee mating optimization (IHBMO) base fuzzy stochastic long-term approach for determining optimum location and size of distributed energy resources (DERs). The Monte Carlo simulation method is used to model the uncertainties associated with long-term load forecasting. A proper combination of several objectives is considered in the objective function. Reduction of loss and power purchased from the electricity market, loss reduction in peak load level and reduction in voltage deviation are considered simultaneously as the objective functions. First, these objectives are fuzzified and designed to be comparable with each other. Then, they are introduced into an IHBMO algorithm in order to obtain the solution which maximizes the value of integrated objective function. The output power of DERs is scheduled for each load level. An enhanced economic model is also proposed to justify investment on DER. An IEEE 30-bus radial distribution test system is used to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. 相似文献

Efficient epoxidation of olefins catalyzed by MoO2(acac)2 supported on amines functionalized MWCNTs is reported. The MWCNTs bearing carboxylic acid groups were modified with 2-aminophenol and 2-aminothiophenol. These amine–MWCNTs act as bidentate ligand for attachment of Mo catalyst. These catalysts were characterized by elemental analysis, scanning electron microscopy, FT-IR and diffuse reflectance UV–Vis spectroscopic methods. The prepared catalysts were used for efficient epoxidation of different alkenes such as cyclic and linear ones with tert-butyl hydroperoxide in refluxing 1,2-dichloroethane. Flexible manufacturing system (FMS) is described as a set of computerised numerical controlled machines, input–output buffers interconnected by automated material handling devices. This paper develops a bi-objective operation allocation and material handling equipment selection problem in FMS with the aim of minimising the machine operation, material handling and machine setup costs and maximising the machine utilisation. The proposed model is solved by a modified chaotic ant swarm simulation based optimisation (CAS2O) while applying pre-selection and discrete recombination operators is surveyed a capable method to simulate different experiments of FMS problems. A test problem is selected from the literature to evaluate the performance of the proposed approach. The multi-period multi-product (MPMP) production planning problems, generally, deal with matching production levels of individual products with fluctuated demands over planning horizon. The conventional MPMP optimisation models suffer from insufficient utilisation of available capacity of machines. This fallacy is due to inappropriate formulation of machine capacity and material handling constraints. In this study, a novel mathematical model is proposed to simultaneously optimise production quantities and provide information about managerial decisions such as subcontracting, carrying inventory/backordering, and also hiring/layoff personnel. The problem is then formulated as a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model by applying appropriate linearisation of non-linear components. The objective is to minimise production costs comprising of production, storage, shortage, subcontracting costs and costs associated with hiring/dismissing labourers. Superiority of the proposed model over existing ones, has been initially evaluated by solving the case presented by Byrne and Bakir [Byrne, M.D. and Bakir, M.A., 1999. Production planning using a hybrid simulation-analytical approach.
