A 20-GHz low-noise amplifier (LNA) with an active balun fabricated in a 0.25-/spl mu/m SiGe BICMOS (f/sub t/=47 GHz) technology was presented by the authors in 2004. The LNA achieves close to 7 dB of gain and a noise figure of 4.9 dB with all ports simultaneously matched to 50 /spl Omega/ with better than -16 dB of return loss. The amplifier is highly linear with an IP/sub 1dB/ of 0 dBm and IIP/sub 3/ of 9 dBm, while consuming 14 mA of quiescent current from a 3.3-V rail, with temperature-compensated biasing. To the authors' knowledge, the LNA delivers the lowest reported noise figure and highest linearity for a silicon implementation of a combined active balun and LNA at 20 GHz, and is the first implementation of an active balun with an LC degenerated emitter-coupled pair. Here we expand on that work, with an analysis of the balun operation and noise optimization of the design.  相似文献

A simple theory is presented to predict the lumped reactance loading for circularly polarized circular loop antennas with a uniform traveling-wave current distribution. The reactive load is located on a circular wire loop of one-wavelength circumference at a position of 45/spl deg/ away from the feed point. To achieve a uniform traveling-wave current distribution, the loading reactance and the input impedances of the loaded and unloaded loop antennas need to satisfy certain conditions. First, the input resistance and the input reactance of the unloaded loop antenna should have the same absolute value. Second, the input impedance of the loaded loop must be purely resistive and its value needs to be two times of the input resistance of the unloaded loop. Third, the loading reactance should be chosen to be two times in value and opposite in sense of the input reactance of the unloaded loop. These conditions can be approximately met when the circular loop is placed above a ground plane. The loading reactance is determined from the input impedance of the unloaded loop and is optimized for an optimal performance of circular polarization. It is found that the reactive load must be capacitive and its value depends on the height of the loop above the ground plane and the thickness of the wire. The characteristics of the circular polarization and the input impedance of the capacitance-loaded circular loop antennas are investigated. An experimental example is presented to verify the theoretical prediction.  相似文献

An integrated low-power low phase-noise Ka-band differential voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) is developed in a 0.12-/spl mu/m 200-GHz silicon-germanium heterojunction bipolar transistor technology. The use of line inductors instead of transmission lines is demonstrated to be feasible in LC-tuned resonators for Ka-band applications. This VCO can operate from a supply voltage of 1.6-2.5 V. A single-sideband phase noise of -99 dBc/Hz at 1-MHz offset from the carrier frequency of 33 GHz is achieved, together with a VCO figure-of-merit of -183.7 dBc/Hz. The frequency tuning constant of the VCO in the linear regime is -0.547 GHz/V.  相似文献

We propose a pitch synchronous approach to design the voice conversion system taking into account the correlation between the excitation signal and vocal tract system characteristics of speech production mechanism. The glottal closure instants (GCIs) also known as epochs are used as anchor points for analysis and synthesis of the speech signal. The Gaussian mixture model (GMM) is considered to be the state-of-art method for vocal tract modification in a voice conversion framework. However, the GMM based models generate overly-smooth utterances and need to be tuned according to the amount of available training data. In this paper, we propose the support vector machine multi-regressor (M-SVR) based model that requires less tuning parameters to capture a mapping function between the vocal tract characteristics of the source and the target speaker. The prosodic features are modified using epoch based method and compared with the baseline pitch synchronous overlap and add (PSOLA) based method for pitch and time scale modification. The linear prediction residual (LP residual) signal corresponding to each frame of the converted vocal tract transfer function is selected from the target residual codebook using a modified cost function. The cost function is calculated based on mapped vocal tract transfer function and its dynamics along with minimum residual phase, pitch period and energy differences with the codebook entries. The LP residual signal corresponding to the target speaker is generated by concatenating the selected frame and its previous frame so as to retain the maximum information around the GCIs. The proposed system is also tested using GMM based model for vocal tract modification. The average mean opinion score (MOS) and ABX test results are 3.95 and 85 for GMM based system and 3.98 and 86 for the M-SVR based system respectively. The subjective and objective evaluation results suggest that the proposed M-SVR based model for vocal tract modification combined with modified residual selection and epoch based model for prosody modification can provide a good quality synthesized target output. The results also suggest that the proposed integrated system performs slightly better than the GMM based baseline system designed using either epoch based or PSOLA based model for prosody modification.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel concept of 3-D integrated -band dual-mode cavity filters, which permit the realization of a variety of quasi-elliptic responses by creating transmission zeros, has been demonstrated using multilayer low-temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technology. A single-cavity resonator is designed to generate a degenerate resonance of two orthogonal modes ( and ), enabling dual-mode operation. The appearance and elimination of transmission zeros have been analyzed through the multipath coupling diagrams and lumped-element models. The quasi-elliptic dual-mode filters with the appropriate locations of the transmission zeros are then developed for receiver and transmitter channels of a -band transceiver module. Two pre-synthesized, dual-mode cavity filters are vertically stacked with two types of inter-coupling slots (1: rectangular, 2: cross) to realize the multipole filters for 60-GHz wireless local area network narrowband applications. These proposed filters are the first to be reported and have great potential to be integrated into miniaturized -band LTCC transceiver modules.  相似文献

This paper presents reconfigurable RF integrated circuits (ICs) for a compact implementation of an intelligent RF front-end for multiband and multistandard applications. Reconfigurability has been addressed at each level starting from the basic elements to the RF blocks and the overall front-end architecture. An active resistor tunable from 400 to 1600 /spl Omega/ up to 10 GHz has been designed and an equivalent model has been extracted. A fully tunable active inductor using a tunable feedback resistor has been proposed that provides inductances between 0.1-15 nH with Q>50 in the C-band. To demonstrate reconfigurability at the block level, voltage-controlled oscillators with very wide tuning ranges have been implemented in the C-band using the proposed active inductor, as well as using a switched-spiral resonator with capacitive tuning. The ICs have been implemented using 0.18-/spl mu/m Si-CMOS and 0.18-/spl mu/m SiGe-BiCMOS technologies.  相似文献

In order to improve polyisobutene (PIB) mechanical properties, a PIB network is combined with a polystyrene (PS) one into an interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) architecture. PIB network is formed by alcohol addition between the hydroxyl end groups of a telechelic dihydroxy-polyisobutene and a pluri-isocyanate. PS network is synthesized by free-radical copolymerization of styrene with divinylbenzene. Thus, the optimal synthesis conditions are determined by FTIR spectroscopy and the kinetics of the alcohol-isocyanate addition is studied in detail. A short kinetic study of the PS network formation inside the PIB network is also carried out. The highest degree of interpenetration is obtained by forming the PIB network first. The corresponding transparent IPNs exhibit two mechanical relaxations corresponding to those of PS and PIB enriched phases. However, mechanical properties of PIB networks are tremendously improved by the presence of a PS network in such IPN architectures.  相似文献

The effects of the suppository vehicle, drug concentration, and nonionic surfactants on in vitro benzocaine dialysis through a cellulose membrane and on rectal absorption in rats of total radioactivity following administration of 3H-benzocaine were investigated. In vitro dialysis correlated quite well with in vivo absorption, and drug release was greater from water-soluble vehicles than from oleaginous vehicles. Inclusion of a nonionic hydrophilic or lipophilic surfactant in cocoa butter resulted in a statistically significant increase for in vitro drug release, while a lipophilic surfactant showed little effect in vivo and a hydrophilic surfactant depressed release in vivo. Both types of surfactant had small effects on release from polyethylene glycol. In vitro release of benzocaine from some commercially available suppositories was compared with experimental preparations. Variation in blood radioactivity following administration of the same concentration of 3H-benzocaine in the same dosage form in male and female rats is reported.  相似文献

This paper presents a compact system-on-package-based front-end solution for 60-GHz-band wireless communication/sensor applications that consists of fully integrated three-dimensional (3-D) cavity filters/duplexers and antenna. The presented concept is applied to the design, fabrication, and testing of V-band (receiver (Rx): 59-61.5 GHz, transmitter (Tx): 61.5-64 GHz) transceiver front-end module using multilayer low-temperature co-fired ceramic technology. Vertically stacked 3-D low-loss cavity bandpass filters are developed for Rx and Tx channels to realize a fully integrated compact duplexer. Each filter exhibits excellent performance (Rx: IL<2.37 dB, 3-dB bandwidth (BW) /spl sim/3.5%, Tx: IL<2.39 dB, 3-dB BW /spl sim/3.33%). The fabrication tolerances contributing to the resonant frequency experimental downshift were investigated and taken into account in the simulations of the rest devices. The developed cavity filters are utilized to realize the compact duplexers by using microstrip T-junctions. This integrated duplexer shows Rx/Tx BW of 4.20% and 2.66% and insertion loss of 2.22 and 2.48 dB, respectively. The different experimental results of the duplexer compared to the individual filters above are attributed to the fabrication tolerance, especially on microstrip T-junctions. The measured channel-to-channel isolation is better than 35.2 dB across the Rx band (56-58.4 GHz) and better than 38.4 dB across the Tx band (59.3-60.9 GHz). The reported fully integrated Rx and Tx filters and the dual-polarized cross-shaped patch antenna functions demonstrate a novel 3-D deployment of embedded components equipped with an air cavity on the top. The excellent overall performance of the full integrated module is verified through the 10-dB BW of 2.4 GHz (/spl sim/4.18%) at 57.45 and 2.3 GHz (/spl sim/3.84%) at 59.85 GHz and the measured isolation better than 49 dB across the Rx band and better than 51.9 dB across the Tx band.  相似文献
