In this research, p‐type Bi2Te3–75% Sb2Te3 thermoelectric alloy powders were produced by gas atomization and subsequently sintered by hot pressing at different temperatures. The grain growth of the hot‐pressed samples was observed with increasing sintering temperature from 380°C to 460°C. The compressive strength increased with increasing hot‐pressing temperature due to the high relative density of bulk samples obtained at high temperatures. The effect of sintering temperature on thermoelectric (TE) properties was studied. The maximum power factor 3.48 mW/mK2 was obtained for the sample hot pressed at 420°C due to the resulting high electrical conductivity and enhanced Seebeck coefficient values.  相似文献

Poly(lactic acid) fibre is derived from annually renewable crops and known to be 100% compostable. In order to extend its environmental friendliness into the dyeing process, dispersant‐free dyeing of poly(lactic acid) fabric with three temporarily solubilised azo disperse dyes based on hydroxypyridone moiety containing a β‐sulphatoethylsulphonyl group was investigated. The dyes were successfully applied to poly(lactic acid) fabric without the use of dispersants. The colour yields of the dyes on poly(lactic acid) fabric were observed to be dependent on dyebath pH and dyeing temperature. The optimum results were obtained at pH 4–5 and 110 °C. One of the dyes showed a colour yield as good as that of a commercial disperse dye and good build‐up on poly(lactic acid) fabric. All of the dyes could be alkali cleared owing to ionisation of the dye under mild alkaline conditions. Wash fastness was good to very good, and light fastness was good. The chemical oxygen demand levels of the poly(lactic acid) dyeing effluent from the dyes were considerably lower than those from a commercial disperse dye.  相似文献

Iron chelation therapy has been recognized as a promising antitumor therapeutic strategy. Herein we report a novel theranostic agent for targeted iron chelation therapy and near‐infrared (NIR) optical imaging of cancers. The theranostic agent was prepared by incorporation of a polyaminocarboxylate‐based cytotoxic chelating agent (N‐NE3TA; 7‐[2‐[(carboxymethyl)amino]ethyl]‐1,4,7‐triazacyclononane‐1,4‐diacetic acid) and a NIR fluorescent cyanine dye (Cy5.5) onto a tumor‐targeting transferrin (Tf). The N‐NE3TA–Tf conjugate (without Cy5.5) was characterized and evaluated for antiproliferative activity in HeLa, HT29, and PC3 cancer cells, which have elevated expression levels of the transferrin receptor (TfR). The N‐NE3TA–Tf conjugate displayed significant inhibitory activity against all three cancer cell lines. The NIR dye Cy5.5 was then incorporated into N‐NE3TA–Tf, and the resulting cytotoxic and fluorescent transferrin conjugate N‐NE3TA–Tf–Cy5.5 was shown by microscopy to enter TfR‐overexpressing cancer cells. This theranostic conjugate has potential application for dual use in targeted iron chelation cancer therapy and NIR fluorescence imaging.  相似文献

SiC reinforced tungsten matrix composites were fabricated via the spark plasma sintering process. In order to prevent an interfacial reaction between the SiC and tungsten during sintering, TiOx coated SiC particles were synthesized by a solution-based process. TiOx layer coated SiC particles were treated in high temperature nitriding conditions or annealed in a high temperature vacuum to form TiN or TiC coated SiC particles, respectively. The TiC layers coated on SiC particles successfully prevented tungsten from reacting with SiC; hence the proposed process resulted in successful fabrication of the SiC/W composites. The mechanical properties such as compressive strength and flexural strength of the composites were measured. Additionally, the effect of SiC on the high temperature oxidative ablation of tungsten was also investigated. The addition of SiC resulted in an improved oxidative ablation resistance of the tungsten-based composites.  相似文献

Easily processed, low cost, and highly efficient solar cells are desirable for photovoltaic conversion of solar energy to electricity. We present the fabrication of precursor solution processed CuInGaS2 (CIGS) thin film solar cells on transparent indium tin oxide (ITO) substrates. The CIGS absorber film was prepared by a spin-coating method, followed by two successive heat treatment processes. The first annealing process was on a hot plate at 300 °C for 30 min in air to remove carbon impurities in the film; this was followed by a sulfurization process at 500 °C in an H2S(1%)/Ar environment to form a polycrystalline CIGS film. The absorber film with an optical band-gap of 1.52 eV and a thickness of about 1.1 µm was successfully synthesized. Because of the usage of a transparent glass substrate, a bifacial CIGS thin film device could be achieved; its power conversion efficiency was measured to be 6.64% and 0.96% for front and rear illumination, respectively, under standard irradiation conditions.  相似文献

In this work, we have investigated the electrical properties of Au/n‐InP contacts with a thin layer of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as an interlayer. The current–voltage (IV) and capacitance–voltage (CV) measurements are carried out in the temperature range of 175–425 K. The Au/PVA/n‐InP Schottky structure show nonideal behaviors and indicates the presence of a nonuniform distribution of interface states. The temperature dependent interface states densities (NSS), ideality factor and barrier height are obtained. An abnormal decrease in zero‐bias barrier height (BH) and increase in the ideality factor ( ) with decreasing temperature have been explained on the basis of the thermionic emission theory with Gaussian distribution (GD) of the BHs due to the BH inhomogeneities. The experimental IV characteristics of Au/PVA/n‐InP Schottky diode has revealed the existence of a double GD with mean BH values of ( ) of 1.246 and 0.899 eV and standard deviation ( ) of 0.176 and 0.137 V, respectively. Consequently, the modified conventional activation energy versus plot gives and Richardson constants ( ) and the values are 1.17 and 0.71 eV and 9.9 and 6.9 A/cm2 K2, respectively, without using the temperature coefficient of the BH. The effective Richardson constant value of 9.9 A/cm2 K2 is very close to the theoretical value of 9.4 A/cm2 K2 for n‐InP. The mechanical properties and inflammability of polyamide 6 (PA6) nanocomposites incorporated with Montmorillonite organoclay (MMT) modified with thermal stable ionic liquid surfactants were investigated. The compatibility between ionic liquid‐treated MMT and PA6 matrix was improved and the intercalation morphology was achieved, which resulted in the increaseof tensile modulus. However, the addition of organo‐MMTs alone did not improve the inflammability of the PA6 nanocomposite, because of strong melt‐dripping behavior of PA6 matrix. Addition of auxiliary melamine polyphosphate (MPP) intumescent flame retardant to the nanocomposite prevented the melt dripping and enhanced inflammability performance. The enhanced inflammability of PA6/organoclay/MPP nanocomposites was attributed to the synergistic effect between imidazolium or phosphonium organo‐MMTs and intumescent flame retardant MPP. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. An N‐formylation method using methanol as the C1 source without a stoichiometric amount of activating reagent is described. Nitriles as well as amines can be directly used as substrates. The reaction is catalyzed by an N‐heterocyclic carbene coordinated ruthenium(II) dihydride complex, which mediates methanol dehydrogenation, nitrile reduction, and C N bond formation without any external base, hydrogen acceptor, or oxidant.

Curved structural members are widely seen in our surroundings, such as railway supports in playgrounds resembling a c-ring structure. The common geometry of the curved member consists of a segment of a circular ring with a uniform width. The curved section is of constant width in most cardiovascular stents. This study focuses on curved strut members whose width changes along the curved segment. The location of the maximum equivalent stress varies depending on the manner in which the width changes. When the width is constant or larger toward the top, the maximum equivalent stress is developed at the top. Meanwhile, when the area is reduced toward the bottom, the largest equivalent stress is developed some distance from the top. Simple equations, based on the mechanics of materials and the theory of elasticity, were compared favorably with the results from finite element analysis. Included are elaborations of the distribution of the change of stress. The suggested strategy of changing the width, with refinements, could be applied to the optimal design of structural members, including pipes and medical devices such as stents.  相似文献

The current efficiency of polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs) were improved using a quantum dot interlayer between a hole transport layer and an emitting layer. The quantum dot interlayer played a role of controlling the hole transport in the PLEDs and enhanced the charge balance in the emitting layer. The current efficiency of the PLEDs was increased by more than 20% by the quantum dot interlayer. In particular, the efficiency improvement was significant at high luminance due to reduced efficiency roll-off in the quantum dot-embedded PLEDs.  相似文献
