Diacetyl (2,3-butanedione) synthesis from methyl ethyl ketone over oxidation zeolites using O2 as oxidant was studied. Various zeolites with Fe, V and Ti as active sites were employed. VS-1, Ti-NCL, Ti-MCM-41 and FeBEA type materials were synthesized and characterized by BET, FTIR, XRD, pyridine adsorption and template desorption. The detailed study of the effect of reaction temperature, the effect of concentration of oxygen and the addition of water was realized. Decades ago, we and many other groups showed a nucleo-cytoplasmic translocation of La protein in cultured cells. This shuttling of La protein was seen after UV irradiation, virus infections, hydrogen peroxide exposure and the Fenton reaction based on iron or copper ions. All of these conditions are somehow related to oxidative stress. Unfortunately, these harsh conditions could also cause an artificial release of La protein. Even until today, the shuttling and the cytoplasmic function of La/SS-B is controversially discussed. Moreover, the driving mechanism for the shuttling of La protein remains unclear. Recently, we showed that La protein undergoes redox-dependent conformational changes. Moreover, we developed anti-La monoclonal antibodies (anti-La mAbs), which are specific for either the reduced form of La protein or the oxidized form. Using these tools, here we show that redox-dependent conformational changes are the driving force for the shuttling of La protein. Moreover, we show that translocation of La protein to the cytoplasm can be triggered in a ligand/receptor-dependent manner under physiological conditions. We show that ligands of toll-like receptors lead to a redox-dependent shuttling of La protein. The shuttling of La protein depends on the redox status of the respective cell type. Endothelial cells are usually resistant to the shuttling of La protein, while dendritic cells are highly sensitive. However, the deprivation of intracellular reducing agents in endothelial cells makes endothelial cells sensitive to a redox-dependent shuttling of La protein. 相似文献

The aims of this work were (a) to select the minimum concentrations of two bacteriocin-producing lactobacilli strains to reduce Listeria monocytogenes growth in whole milk, (b) to evaluate the individual and combined application of these chosen lactobacilli concentrations as protective culture in this food and, (c) to estimate if lactobacilli growth caused undesirable changes in the visible characteristics of milk. The selected minimum lactobacilli concentration with antilisterial activity was 106 CFU ml−1 for both lactobacilli. Although a high initial concentration of L. monocytogenes (104 CFU ml−1) was added to milk, a notable reduction on listerial counts (2–4 log CFU ml−1) was achieved in comparison to the control. These lactobacilli showed a good adaptability in milk reaching optimal counts and not causing undesirable visible changes. In conclusion, the use of these lactobacilli could be considered as a bio-strategy potentially effective to limit the contamination by L. monocytogenes in certain milk-derived products. 相似文献

We have studied the rate of methanol formation over Cu(100) and Ni/Cu(100) from various mixtures of CO, CO2 and H2. It is found that the presence of submonolayer quantities of Ni leads to a strong increase in the rate of methanol formation
from mixtures containing all three components whereas Ni does not influence the rate from mixtures of CO2/H2 and CO/H2, respectively. The influence of the partial pressures of CO and CO2 on the rate indicates that the role of CO is strictly promoting. From temperature-programmed desorption spectra it follows
that the surface concentration of Ni depends strongly on the partial pressure of CO. In this way the increase in reactivity
is interpreted as a CO-induced structural promotion introduced by the stronger bonding of CO to Ni as compared to Cu. It is
suggested that this type of promotional behavior will be of general importance in existent catalysts and perhaps even more
relevant in the development of new or improved bimetallic catalysts.

A simple procedure is developed for the selection of pultruded structural shapes to be used as beam-columns in structural design. The design equations are then validated by comparison with experimental data gathered during beam-column testing of wide-flange and I-beam pultruded structural shapes. The design procedure accounts for axial load eccentricity and bending action induced by lateral loads and end-moments. The design equations are set in the context of load and resistance factor design, considering both strength and serviceability. This paper addresses the methodology to determine the resistance factors, which should be used with properly selected load-factors accounting for the variability and uncertainty of the loads. The design equations use section-properties, such as the bending stiffness (EI), which must be measured and supplied by industry. It is found that the section-properties used in the design of beams and columns are sufficient for the design of beam-columns. Therefore, the cost and time involved in testing structural shapes are minimized. This paper also addresses the means by which section-properties can be generated effectively and inexpensively. 相似文献

Noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) play prominent roles in the regulation of gene expression via their interactions with other biological molecules such as proteins and nucleic acids. Although much of our knowledge about how these ncRNAs operate in different biological processes has been obtained from experimental findings, computational biology can also clearly substantially boost this knowledge by suggesting possible novel interactions of these ncRNAs with other molecules. Computational predictions are thus used as an alternative source of new insights through a process of mutual enrichment because the information obtained through experiments continuously feeds through into computational methods. The results of these predictions in turn shed light on possible interactions that are subsequently validated experimentally. This review describes the latest advances in databases, bioinformatic tools, and new in silico strategies that allow the establishment or prediction of biological interactions of ncRNAs, particularly miRNAs and lncRNAs. The ncRNA species described in this work have a special emphasis on those found in humans, but information on ncRNA of other species is also included. 相似文献

Six varieties of Solanum tuberosum L potato grown in the Bolivian highlands under drought stress, with and without irrigation, were analysed for their content of glycoalkaloids (GAs). The plant material consisted of three drought‐tolerant varieties from a local breeding programme (PROINPA), Potosina, Chapaquita and Pampeña, and three control cultivated varieties, Malcacho, Sani Imilla and Desiree, either susceptible or relatively tolerant to drought. α‐Solanine and α‐chaconine were quantified in both the peel and flesh of the tubers. A significant increase in GA concentration (α‐solanine + α‐chaconine) was observed under drought stress conditions in most varieties; average concentration increases of 43 and 50% were registered in the improved and control cultivars respectively. In all tested cultivars, however, the GA concentration remained lower than the recommended food safety level (200 mg kg−1 fresh tubers). It ranged from 52.4 to 100 mg kg−1 fresh tubers in the improved cultivars and from 55.6 to 122.3 mg kg−1 fresh tubers in the controls. In the improved and control varieties the α‐solanine content averaged 42.6 and 35.4% of the total potato GAs respectively and was not significantly affected by drought stress, except in Desiree. In all conditions the peel contained the greatest proportion of total GAs. The hybrid variety Pampeña (new drought‐tolerant variety) contained the lowest amounts of GAs, which were lower than those of the control varieties, with and without irrigation. © 2000 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献

This paper aims at investigating the possibility of replacing conventional hydraulic fluids with refined olive pomace oil added with a common food grade antioxidant, as hydraulic fluid for agricultural machinery. The fluid efficiency test is carried out using an experimental test rig based on a hydraulic system designed to apply severe work cycles (pressure values up to 40 MPa; temperatures up to 100 °C) to small oil volumes with the aim of strongly accelerating the ageing of the tested fluid. The fluid, added with 2 g kg−1 of antioxidant, apparently does not undergo any changes in chemical-physical properties and maintains stable the technical performance of the test equipment during 530 h work cycle. This research has four different goals: i) to contribute to the circular economy, by using olive oil byproducts in agricultural environment; ii) to contribute to the reduction of environmental contamination by substituting petroleum products with natural biodegradable ones; iii) to contribute to avoid the presence of mineral products (such as saturated hydrocarbons, which could accumulate in human organs, and aromatic hydrocarbons, which are potentially genotoxic), as a residue in food products and in vegetable oils. iv) to identify alternative market possibilities for such a by-product. Practical applications : The results of the study seem to indicate the possibility of using the olive pomace oil as hydraulic fluid, for example, in agricultural machinery, opening new market perspectives which would increase its added value. 相似文献

A real-time imaging system based on a frequency scanning antenna for conveyor belt setups is presented in this paper. The frequency scanning antenna together with an inexpensive parabolic reflector operates at the W band enabling the detection of details with dimensions in the order of 2 mm. In addition, a low level of sidelobes is achieved by optimizing unequal dividers to window the power distribution for sidelobe reduction. Furthermore, the quality of the images is enhanced by the radiation pattern properties. The performance of the system is validated by showing simulation as well as experimental results obtained in real time, proving the feasibility of these kinds of frequency scanning antennas for cost-effective imaging applications. 相似文献
