We have studied the growth of silicon nanowires (SiNWs) by means of transmission electron microscopy. SiNWs are grown from nanocatalysts via the Vapor-Liquid-Solid (VLS) mechanism using silane (SiH4) gas as a source gas. The nanocatalysts are prepared on a hydrogen (H)-terminated Si surface. We have examined the formation mechanism of nanocatalysts on H-terminated surface and have observed several structural variants of SiNWs. According to the study we have suggested that many structural variations of SiNWs are possible, which modify the structural properties of SiNWs to great extents.  相似文献

We report on our prototype experiment that uses a 4-m detuned resonant sideband extraction interferometer with suspended mirrors, which has almost the same configuration as the next-generation, gravitational-wave detectors. We have developed a new control scheme and have succeeded in the operation of such an interferometer with suspended mirrors for the first time ever as far as we know. We believe that this is the first such instrument that can see the radiation pressure signal enhancement, which can improve the sensitivity of next-generation gravitational-wave detectors.  相似文献

Individual chains comprising a β-form poly(p-xylylene) (PPX) single crystal were resolved with a high resolution electron microscope (JEM-500). In a polymer crystal the important limiting factor for resolution is radiation damage. The total end point dose of a PPX crystal is about 0.5 coulomb cm?2 for 500 kV electron irradiation which is more than 20 times greater than that for a polyethylene crystal. The high resolution image obtained was processed by optical filtering to reduce noise due to the granularity of film. The processed image, which corresponds to the ab-plane projection of polymer chains, shows clearly the mutual arrangement of each molecule in the crystal. This high resolution image is sufficient to provide a starting point for determining the unknown crystal structure of the β-modification of PPX.  相似文献

The molten globule state of α-lactalbumin is a partially denatured form with native-like secondary structure and disordered tertiary structure. Using circular dichroism measurements, it was demonstrated that the molten globule state was produced by decreasing the pH to 2.0 at 25°C or by removing bound Ca2+ by treatment with ethylenediamine—tetraacetic acid (EDTA) at pH 7.5 and 40°C. Tension measurements showed that α-lactalbumin in the molten globule state is more easily unfolded at liquid interfaces than is the native protein. Results of competitive adsorption experiments involving α-lactalbumin and β-lactoglobulin at the oil droplet surface in emulsions are consistent with preferential adsorption of α-lactalbumin during emulsification when it is in the molten globule state. In contrast to the difficulty of exchange between α-lactalbumin and β-lactoglobulin at the oil-water interface in emulsions at 25°C, it has been found that the two whey proteins are able partially to displace one another from the oil—water interface at 40°C. While native α-lactalbumin was found to be readily displaced from the oil—water interface by β-lactoglobulin at 40°C, it was found that α-lactalbumin in the molten globule state in the presence of EDTA at 40°C had itself the capacity for displacing β-lactoglobulin from the interface.  相似文献

At-speed scan testing, based on ATPG and ATE, is indispensable to guarantee timing-related test quality in the DSM era. However, at-speed scan testing may incur yield loss due to excessive IR-drop caused by high test (shift & capture) switching activity. This paper discusses the mechanism of circuit malfunction due to IR-drop, and summarizes general approaches to reducing switching activity, by which highlights the problem of current solutions, i.e. only reducing switching activity for one capture while the widely used at-speed scan testing based on the launch-off-capture scheme uses two captures. This paper then proposes a novel X-filling method, called double-capture (DC) X-filling, for generating test vectors with low and balanced capture switching activity for two captures. Applicable to dynamic & static compaction in any ATPG system, DC X-filling can reduce IR-drop, and thus yield loss, without any circuit/clock modification, timing/circuit overhead, fault coverage loss, and additional design effort.

We identified novel potent inhibitors of p38 mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase using a structure-based design strategy, beginning with lead compound, 3-(butan-2-yl)-6-(2,4-difluoroanilino)-1,3-dihydro-2H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridin-2-one ( 1 ). To enhance the inhibitory activity of 1 against production of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in human whole blood (hWB) cell assays, we designed and synthesized hybrid compounds in which the imidazo[4,5-b]pyridin-2-one core was successfully linked with the p-methylbenzamide fragment. Among the compounds evaluated, 3-(3-tert-butyl-2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyridin-6-yl)-4-methyl-N-(1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)benzamide ( 25 ) exhibited potent p38 inhibition, superior suppression of TNF-α production in hWB cells, and also significant in vivo efficacy in a rat model of collagen-induced arthritis (CIA). In this paper, we report the discovery of potent, selective, and orally bioavailable imidazo[4,5-b]pyridin-2-one-based p38 MAP kinase inhibitors.  相似文献

A simple and rapid multiresidue method was developed for the determination of twelve quinolones (ciprofloxacin, danofloxacin, difloxacin, enrofloxacin, flumequine, marbofloxacin, nalidixic acid, norfloxacin, ofloxacin, orbifloxacin, oxolinic acid and sarafloxacin) in muscle, liver, chicken eggs, milk, prawn and rainbow trout.The quinolones were extracted from a sample with acetonitrile-water (95 : 5). A fifth part of the filtered extract was diluted with water to keep the acetonitrile ratio at ca. 60%, and passed through a C18 mini-column. The eluate was evaporated to dryness, and the residues were dissolved in methanol-water (30 : 70) for HPLC analysis.The quinolones were separated on a Inertsil ODS-3V column (4.6 mm i.d.x250 mm) with a gradient system of 0.1% phosphoric acid-acetonitrile as the mobile phase, with fluorescence detection.No interfering peak was found on the chromatograms of animal and fishery products, except for milk. The recoveries of the quinolones were over 60% from the animal and fishery products fortified at 0.1 microg/g, and the quantification limits of the quinolones were 0.005 microg/g. This proposed method was found to be effective and suitable for the screening of the quinolones in animal and fishery products.  相似文献

Floral organs have evolved from leaves for reproduction, and the morphological analyses help to understand the plant diversity and evolution. Habenaria radiata (syn. Pecteilis radiata) is a terrestrial orchid living in wetlands in Japan, Russia, South Korea, and China. The habitats of this plant in Japan have been reduced because of environmental destruction and overexploitation, and thus it is on the Red List of Japan as a Near Threatened species. One of the three petals of the H. radiata flower is called a lip or labellum, which resembles a flying white bird, egret, or white heron, with its proposed function being to attract pollinators. To understand the diversity of H. radiata plants in different areas, we examined the lip morphology and phylogeny of populations from eight habitats in the Kinki area, Japan. The complex shapes of the lips were quantified and presented as a radar chart, enabling characterization of the morphological difference among populations. Phylogenetic analysis with microsatellite markers that we generated showed the variation of genetic diversity among populations, suggesting the different degrees of inbreeding, outbreeding, and vegetative propagation. Our approach offers a basic method to characterize the morphological and genetic diversity in natural populations.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Boron carbide (B4C) ceramics has many outstanding performance, such as extremely high hardness, low density, high melting point, high elastic modulus, high thermoelectromotive force, high chemical resistance, high neutron absorption cross section, high impact and excellent wear resistance. Therefore, B4C ceramics can be used in various industrial applications, such as lightweight ceramic armour, high temperature thermocouples, neutron absorber, reactor control rods in nuclear power engineering, polishing media for hard materials, abrasive media for lapping and grinding, and wear resistant components (blasting nozzles, die tips and grinding wheels). Pressureless sintering is the method with industrialised application value for B4C ceramics, however, it is impossible to sinter pure B4C ceramics to high densities without additives by pressureless sintering. So sintering additives must be used to promote the densification of B4C ceramics. The different sintering additives used to promote the densification of boron carbide will be described in this review, including carbon additives, metallic additives, oxide additives, non-oxide additives, combined additives and rare earth oxide additives. Finally, the recent research trends for sintering methods and sintering additives of B4C ceramics will also be proposed.  相似文献

Orientation anisotropy, which is well known in organic polymers with appropriate network structures, is less common in oxide glasses. We present the intermediate-range order in anisotropic alkali metaphosphate glass which consists of oriented PO4 tetrahedral chains and intervening alkali cations along the elongation direction. The X-ray total structure factor S(Q) indicates that the inter-chain spacing depends on the size of alkali cations and varies from 5.03 to 6.28 Å. The mixed alkali effect is primarily related to an increase of the separation. The total correlation function T(r) provides the first definite evidence that the anisotropic structure is composed of phosphorus-bridging oxygen bonds (P–OB) lying along the elongation direction and phosphorus-non-bridging oxygen bonds (P–OT) oriented perpendicular to the elongation direction. The present result unveils fundamental aspects of the anisotropic structure of an oxide glass and provides essential information for the development of oxide glasses to control structural anisotropy.  相似文献
