We have performed high-dose Fe ion implantation into Si and characterized ion-beam-induced microstructures as well as annealing-induced ones using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and grazing-incidence X-ray diffraction (GIXRD). Single crystals of Si(1 0 0) substrate were irradiated at 623 K with 120 keV Fe+ ions to a fluence of 4 × 1017 cm−2. The irradiated samples were then annealed in a vacuum furnace at temperatures ranging from 773 K to 1073 K. Cross-sectional TEM observations and GIXRD measurements revealed that a layered structure is formed in the as-implanted specimen with ε-FeSi, β-FeSi2 and damaged Si, as component layers. A continuous β-FeSi2 layer was formed on the topmost layer of the Si substrate after thermal annealing.  相似文献

With the goal to obtain material combining electrical and thermal conductivity at low filler loadings, composites based on polypropylenes (PP) and expanded graphite (EG) have been prepared. The effects of matrix viscosity and of coating the EG particles with polypyrrole (PPy, EG/PPy = 37.5/62.5 by weight) on the EG dispersibility and formation of percolation structures have been analyzed. When increasing the EG amount from 6 to 8 wt %, the electrical conductivity of PP/EG composites increased by 7–9 orders of magnitude, independent of matrix viscosity. When EG‐PPy is added, percolation was observed between 8 and 12 wt % EG‐PPy (3 and 4.5 wt % EG) in case of PP with higher viscosity and 6 wt % EG (2.25 wt % EG) in case of PP with lower viscosity, exhibiting a strong synergistic effect of EG and PPy in the latter case. In contrast, PPy does not contribute to reduction of thermal percolation concentration. Thermal percolation is observed at 8 wt % EG in PP/EG composites, but no percolation was found in PP/EG‐PPy composites with EG‐PPy contents of up to 20 wt %, corresponding to 7.5 wt % EG. Analyzing the melt rheology it becomes clear that the contribution of PPy to the formation of a filler network is strongly dependent on the matrix viscosity. The comparison of thermal, electrical and rheological percolation reveals that PPy participates in electron transport reducing the electrical percolation but not to heat transport. Six nonlactating Holstein cows in a 3 x 3 Latin square total collection digestion trial were used to evaluate three low DM (less than 26%) silage types: 1) corn; 2) corn and sunflower intercropped and 3) sunflower. Feeding periods consisted of a 7-d adjustment followed by a 5-d collection period. Dry matter intake was similar for the three treatments; 12.5, 12.1, and 12.0 kg, respectively. Percent apparent digestibilities for DM, NDF, and N for corn and corn-sunflower were similar and greater than for sunflower: DM (69.6, 68.2, 57.4); NDF (68.1, 61.5, 51.6); and N (66.3, 66.5, 63.6). No differences were observed for digestibilities of ADF, hemicellulose, starch, or for N retention. Percent ether extract digestibility was greatest for corn-sunflower and sunflower silage when compared with digestibility of corn silage (82.5, 77.9, vs. 66.3). Major changes in rumen fermentation patterns were not observed as evidenced by rumen molar proportions of propionate, isobutyrate, isovalerate, valerate, or acetate to propionate ratios. No difference was observed for rumen NH3 N (2.7, 3.2, 4.1 mg/dl, respectively). Corn and sunflower intercropped silage had intermediate concentrations of fat, fiber, and protein when compared with those of corn or sunflower silages.  相似文献

Shrinkage that takes place during polymerizations induces internal stress in polymeric materials generating a series of problems like poor adhesion to substrates and delamination in coatings or microcracks and microvoids in composites. Some additives like spiro orthocarbonates can reduce or eliminate this shrinkage. This paper deals with the synthesis of novel diol spiro orthocarbonates (DIOL SOCs) and their effect as anti‐shrinkage additives in the photopolymerization of the monomer 3,4‐epoxycyclohexyl‐3′, 4′‐epoxycyclohexanecarboxylate. It was found that increasing the concentration of the DIOL SOCs resulted in higher conversion of the monomer due to the presence of hydroxyl groups. The viscoelastic properties of the polymer products were also measured. It was observed that at 5 mol% of the mixture of DIOL SOCs there was an increase in the storage modulus due to the crosslinking produced by the bifunctional SOCs. However, at higher concentrations, a decrease in the storage modulus was observed. The level of shrinkage using the DIOL SOCs at 20 mol% was reduced by 45% when compared to the case without any additive. DIOL SOCs can be easily prepared by reacting glycerol with tetraethylorthocarbonate. A voltage-behind-reactance formulation of a synchronous machine model is set forth, which incorporates saturation and cross-saturation, and is general enough to encapsulate a variety of rotor structures by use of arbitrary linear networks instead of equivalent circuits. Specifically, the model's equations - originally expressed in the qd-axes framework - are rewritten in such a way as to allow the actual abc stator windings to be represented by inductive branches, which can then be naturally connected in the desired circuit topology, e.g., to a rectifier. Polycrystalline pellets of the rare earth sesquioxide Dy2O3 were irradiated at two temperatures (∼120 K and ∼300 K) with 300 keV Kr++ ions up to a fluence of 1 × 1020 Kr/m2. The crystal structure of the irradiated Dy2O3 was observed to change from an ordered cubic bixbyite structure (so-called C-type rare earth sesquioxide structure) to a disordered, anion-deficient fluorite structure. A relatively low ion dose (∼2.5 displacements per atom [dpa]) was sufficient to induce a complete order-to-disorder (O-D) phase transformation at cryogenic temperature (∼120 K) irradiation, while at room temperature (∼300 K) a higher dose (∼25 dpa) produced only a partial O-D phase transformation. Light polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) of petrogenic origin are commonly found in estuaries and coastal areas. Though they are known to be toxic to fish, little is known about their uptake and tissue distribution. This paper reports on the results of a study on uptake, elimination, and tissue distribution of three waterborne 14C-labeled PAHs in the mummichog, Fundulus heteroclitus, using whole-body autoradiography. After a 24 h exposure to 1 μCi·L(-1) of 14C-naphthalene, 14C-1-naphthol, and 14C-phenanthrene, fish were transferred to clean water and tissue distribution examined after 0, 1, 3, 7, 14, and 21 days of depuration. All compounds were readily accumulated by fish and were also rapidly eliminated (t0.5 range=1.1 to 3.0 days). Most of the radioactivity in naphthalene- and phenanthrene-treated fish was found in gall bladder?liver>intestinal lumen. In naphthol-exposed fish, an important labeling of some brain areas was observed. Brain of naphthalene-exposed fish was also labeled after 24 h depuration, indicating that exposure to naphthalene may result in metabolite accumulation in the brain. This is the first study showing that naphthalene, naphthol, and/or unidentified metabolite(s) can accumulate in brain tissues, which may impair normal brain function.  相似文献
