The present study investigates the efficiency of spark plasma sintering (SPS) technique on the tribological behavior of tungsten carbide composites, and aims to develop the wear resistance of these composites by addition of cubic boron nitride (cBN). Wear tests of spark plasma sintered 6(wt.%)Co/WC, 25(vol%)cBN/6Co/WC and conventionally fabricated 6(wt.%)Co/WC as a reference sample were performed by ball-on-disk contact with dry and rotational sliding at room temperature in order to determine the friction coefficient and wear rate. Wear mechanisms were explained by using SEM observations and the wear rates were computed by a surface profilometer. In all cases, the major wear mechanisms were observed gradually in the form of microcraking, material removal by grain pull out, and generation and spalling of a tribochemical layer. Based on the experimental results, the addition of cBN considerably enhanced the wear resistance of tungsten carbides. In addition, these results revealed that SPS process has outstanding potential for the fabrication of tungsten carbides with high wear properties for tribological applications.  相似文献

Phase change random access memory alloys (PRAM or PCM) are a class of non-volatile memory that is thought as viable alternatives to flash memory technology or to supplement other memory technologies depending on the end applications and its key performance requirements. Ge2Sb2Te5 alloy (GST) is the most widely used chalcogenide material for PCM application, and has many unique properties, including strong temperature-dependent film properties, low thermal conductivity, and high electrical resistivity. Picosecond ultrasonics was used to make non-contact, non-destructive measurements of GST films on blanket wafers and directly on product wafers. On-product wafer measurements were made on various via array (0.5 μm and 1 μm between cell edges with CD size from 250 to 800 nm). Measurements have shown excellent correlation to cross-section SEM and were consistent with CMP polish times for both blanket and pattern wafer measurement. Excellent repeatability based on extensive measurements demonstrates the capability and reliability of picosecond ultrasonic technology. Picosecond ultrasonic measurements also provide rapid characterization across the whole wafer at production-worthy throughputs.  相似文献

In this paper, the synthesis, design, and implementation of a programmable phase shifter circuit for sinusoidal signals is presented. The proposed circuit, built-up herein with operational amplifiers (OPAMPs), high precision resistors and low voltage switches, consists of a digitally controlled amplitude attenuator in combination with a single-tone orthogonalizer. Experimental results agree with theoretical background: the attained phase range was 252° in 256 steps with a median step of 0.9°. The inaccuracy of the circuit was determined to be of 0.03 %. Contrary to other OPAMP approaches for sinusoidal signals reported in the literature and based on a first-order all-pass filter structure, the approximation suggested in this work is based on a different concept. The achieved results demonstrate the functionality of the system for the case of a sinusoidal signal with frequency of 1 kHz. Notwithstanding, the proposed architecture can be extended to operate at higher frequencies by using different building blocks with larger bandwidth. Furthermore, it can be extended as well to work out with other periodic input waveforms, like triangular shapes or square waves, with the use of an appropriate orthogonalizer.  相似文献

The paper presents results of keyhole laser beam welding of dissimilar magnesium alloys that have been carried out with the CO2 laser of maximum power of 2.5 kW. The workpieces of die-cast alloys AZ91 and AM50 with thicknesses of 4.5 mm have been butt-welded with helium used as a shielding gas. With the chosen flow rate of helium shielding and the focal position set on the metal surface the nearly parallel fusion zones boundaries were obtained. The analysis of microstructures of the joints, measurements of hardness distribution and the elemental distribution in the weld cross-sections permitted to find the changes due to heating in the fusion zones and recrystallization. The static tensile strength tests and the three point bending tests have allowed to determine the mechanical properties of the joints. The corrosion resistance tests performed by the electrochemical method on samples of as-cast materials and samples with the welds of similar and dissimilar alloys have not displayed the differences in the corrosion resistance. However, the microscopic observations of surfaces of welded samples have shown the influence of the joints on corrosion development.  相似文献

Highly efficient visible-light-driven AgBr/Ag3PO4 hybrid photocatalysts with different mole ratios of AgBr were prepared via an in-situ anion-exchange method and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) and photoluminescence (PL) technique. Under visible light irradiation (>420 nm), the AgBr/Ag3PO4 photocatalysts displayed the higher photocatalytic activity than pure Ag3PO4 and AgBr for the decolorization of acid orange 7 (AO 7). Among the hybrid photocatalysts, AgBr/Ag3PO4 with 60% of AgBr exhibited the highest photocatalytic activity for the decolorization of AO 7. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) results revealed that AgBr/Ag3PO4 readily transformed to be Ag@AgBr/Ag3PO4 system while the photocatalytic activity of AgBr/Ag3PO4 remained after 5 recycling runs. In addition, the quenching effects of different scavengers displayed that the reactive h+ and O2∙− play the major role in the AO 7 decolorization. The photocatalytic activity enhancement of AgBr/Ag3PO4 hybrids can be ascribed to the efficient separation of electron–hole pairs through a Z-scheme system composed of Ag3PO4, Ag and AgBr, in which Ag nanoparticles act as the charge separation center.  相似文献

One major challenge regarding the use of today's language labs relates to teachers' and students' awareness and computer skills. Most teachers and students may not have the requisite computer skills and might soon become overwhelmed by the sophisticated functionality of today's digital lab systems. Thus, they should be provided with the appropriate training and technical support to reduce the apprehension that is usually associated with new technology. Recurrent technical problems are another shortcoming. Failure to operate the lab equipment efficiently due to hardware or software problems will inevitably cause delays and frustration for both students and instructors.To overcome such problems in existing language labs, this paper presents a novel cross-platform mobile lab system for language learning, called Mlab. The target users of MLab are language teachers and students, and the system offers them the freedom to move around and use their own devices at any time and in any place. Therefore, this research paper presents Mlab development and evaluation through three approaches: a holistic test case scenario, think aloud and interview sessions. The results showed high usability rates and generally positive attitudes toward using the mobile lab system.  相似文献

Three duplex stainless steel weldments were produced by changing the chromium element to study the correlation between the pitting corrosion characteristics and the component ratio of the dual phase. The pit morphologies showed that metastable pits were generated at a lower pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN) phase. The secondary austenite phases seemed to serve as a path for the corrosive environment regardless of the ferrite number (FN). There is some discrepancy between the measured values (pitting potential (Ep) through polarization test) and expected values (sequence ranked by PREN of weaker phase) in 1 mol l−1 NaCl solution at 60 °C.  相似文献

The early stages of bread dough proving were modeled following the diffusion theory and using a newtonian constitutive equation to account for dough rheology. The model was fitted, by constrained minimization of the sum of squared errors function, to experimental growth curves of common dough formulations. Values for the dough viscosity, a first order fermentation rate constant and the bubble size at the beginning of proving were chosen as the degrees of freedom in the fitting procedure. The viscosity value obtained for a plain dough formulation was 30 × 106 Pa s, this value is in the range of viscosity values determined by Rouillé et al. (2005), for wheat dough through creep-recovery and lubricated squeezing flow tests. The results obtained were plotted as a function of dough formulation composition and the trends were observed and analyzed. The observed tendencies and correlations between dough properties and dough formulation follow the trends observed in experimental data reported in the literature for dough systems.  相似文献

We present our work on novel digitizing techniques to create virtual exhibitions in the context of the Gold Museum in Bogotá, Colombia, a world renown space for precious pre-Colombian gold artifacts. In order to solve issues related to high specular reflection in gold artifacts, we developed a multi-spectral approach that solves some of the shortfalls of many commercial scanners. We also integrated commercial haptic devices into a new virtual installation that allows visitors to touch, hear, and see virtual approximations of the real objects. As an evaluation methodology, we compare the results of a scanner with normal light with our approach, and we also present results from user studies on our virtual installation.  相似文献

Zirconia-supported nickel catalysts with different amounts of aluminum (Al/Zr = 0.2, 1 and 2) were studied in this work in order to find alternative supports for nickel-based catalysts for the partial oxidation of methane. This reaction is a promising route for producing hydrogen and syngas for different applications. Samples were prepared by precipitation and impregnation techniques, characterized by several techniques and evaluated in the partial oxidation of methane in the range of 450–750 °C and 1 atm. It was found that aluminum affects the textural and catalytic properties of zirconia-supported nickel catalysts. The tetragonal phase of zirconia was stabilized by aluminum and gamma-alumina was also found in the aluminum-richest samples. Aluminum increased the porosity and the specific surface area of the solids. The catalytic activity also increased with the amount of aluminum in solids probably due to the stronger interaction of nickel with the support, which slowly generates active sites during the reduction step. The methane conversion and hydrogen selectivity increased with temperature, indicating no deactivation. The hydrogen to carbon monoxide molar ratio decreased due to aluminum but was not significantly affected by temperature. The coke produced was not harmful to the catalysts and aluminum affected its amount, although no simple relationship was found between these parameters. The most promising catalyst was the sample with aluminum to zirconium molar ratio of 2, which showed high activity and hydrogen selectivity and was stable under the reaction condition.  相似文献
