A long fatty side chain was introduced into the macromolecule of hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) via esterification reaction. The hydrophobicity of hydroxyethyl cellulose lauric acid ester (HECLAE) was enhanced in comparison with HEC. The obtained HECLAE was used as macromolecular coupling agent in poly (butylene succinate)/wood flour composites and exhibited a positive influence on improving the mechanical performance of composites. Besides, HECLAE plays a role as a hydrophobic agent in composites. A significant increase in storage modulus (E’) was observed upon the incorporation of treated wood flour. SEM images showed that the dispersion of treated wood flour in PBS matrix was improved.  相似文献

Liquid sulfur-zinc sulfate solution interfacial tensions and liquid sulfur-zinc sulfate solution-zinc sulfide (marmatite) contact angles were measured in the absence and presence of surface-active agents. Interfacial tensions measured varied between 54 ± 1 mN/m in the surfactant-free system and 20 ± 1 mN/m in the presence of a surfactant. The liquid sulfur-zinc sulfide mineral-zinc sulfate solution contact angle varies between 80 ± 5 deg, in the absence of any surfactant, and 148 ± 5 deg, depending on the surfactant used. The surface-active agents were used as dispersants for sulfur in bench-scale zinc pressure-leaching experiments. The observed extent of zinc extraction depends on the surfactant and varies from 40 to 96 pct.  相似文献

The papermaking properties of 22 pure and hybrid poplars are being evaluated in an on-going investigation. Twenty of the poplars were harvested after 7.5 years from three different sites in the Midwestern and North Central US. The other 2 poplars survived at only two of three sites (64 total samples). The Crandon hybrid had the highest growth rate (t ha−1 y−1) and wood density (both averaged across the 3 sites). This poplar had a high cellulose content (compared to the average), a low lignin content and produced bleached kraft fibers at a high yield (wt.% on wood chips). Further, this poplar responded very well to kraft pulping and oxygen delignification and bleached to the highest final brightness ever observed in our laboratory (94.5% Elrepho). It also produced an 18 kappa number unbleached pulp with <0.5% rejects in only two-thirds the time required for sugar maple (Acer saccharum).We also report on clone 220-5 that had the highest area-weighted average microfibril angle. Pulps from this poplar had excellent tensile properties and further improvements are expected with 1–2 years of additional growth that should result in a small, but significant increase in average fiber length. Some results are also presented for clone 313.55 and aspen (Populus tremuloides) to demonstrate the many substantial benefits that can be accrued from proper wood selection.  相似文献

The theories for modulus and strength of short fibre-reinforced composite materials are based on the calculation of the force sustained by fibres crossing an arbitrary line perpendicular to the applied load, called the scan line, in a thin, rectangular specimen. The widely referenced Fukuda-Kawata modulus theory and the Fukuda-Chou strength theory are based on an apparently incorrect procedure for the calculation of the force sustained by the fibres crossing the scan line. The error is explained in detail by comparing the Fukuda-Kawata modulus theory and the Cox modulus theory. The magnitude of this error is calculated for specific cases.  相似文献

In recent years a strong need has been realised for the creation of low-cost diagnostics for use in impoverished regions of the world. The use of paper has been championed for this purpose by many research groups globally over the past 5?years, leading to the formation of a large body of knowledge. This work reviews and summarises the many techniques developed to date for the patterning of paper substrates to create channels for the flow of liquids. The work also explores methods for increasing the functionality of paper-based microfluidics, the detection mechanisms employed so far and some of the interesting applications addressed. The review will also investigate the recent use of some alternative materials—both as primary substrates and in hybrids—which will become progressively more important in the future.  相似文献

In this work, the Model Algorithmic Control (MAC) method is applied to control the grade change operations in paper mills. The neural network model for the grade change operations is identified first and the impulse model is extracted from the neural network model. Results of simulations for MAC control of grade change operations are compared with plant operation data. The major contribution of the present work is the application of MAC in the industrial plants based on the identification of neural network models. We can confirm that the proposed MAC method exhibits faster responses and less oscillatory behavior compared to the plant operation data in the grade change operations.  相似文献

In the present study, we introduce a novel approach to control and modulate fluid transport inside microfluidic papers using lab-engineered paper sheets. Lab-sheets consisting of different fiber sources (eucalyptus sulfate and cotton linters pulp) and varying porosities were designed and further modified with small millimeter-scaled channels using hydrophobic barriers consisting of fiber-attached, hydrophobic polymers. The capillary-driven transport of an aqueous solution was monitored visually, and the influence of parameters such as fiber source, paper grammage, and channel width on the flow rates through the channel was investigated. The experimental results were compared with those obtained with commercially available filter papers. Our findings suggest that accurate control of fluid transport processes with standard filter papers is complex. Additionally, if the channel width is smaller than the mean fiber length, flow rates become dependent on the geometric parameters of the channel because of the formation of dead-end pores at the hydrophobic barriers. Finally, control of the paper sheets porosity, by varying the fiber density of the lab-made paper, affords the fabrication of chemically identical sheets whereby capillary flow is largely influenced and can be modulated accordingly by simple papermaking processes.  相似文献

导电织物在可穿戴电子领域前景广阔,但在使用过程的稳定性仍需提高。通过缩合反应,在棉织物(CF)上接枝了γ-巯丙基三甲氧基硅烷(MPTS),再利用化学镀的方式沉积银颗粒,制备出棉/银复合织物电极(Ag/M-CF)。Ag/M-CF的表面方阻低至0.04 Ω/sq,而且在多个方面(洗涤、拉伸、弯曲和氧化)都有良好的稳定性。洗涤200次后,表面方阻仅为1.88 Ω/sq,导电性能良好,满足实际需要;拉伸5%后,表面方阻仅为1.00 Ω/sq;经过3000次弯曲后,Ag/M-CF的表面方阻增加至1.38 Ω/sq;在恒温恒湿环境中放置9周后,表面方阻仅为0.50 Ω/sq。将洗涤前后的Ag/M-CF植入智能服装中,都能成功捕捉到人体在运动状态下的心电信号,而且测得的心率几乎相同。除此之外,Ag/M-CF还具有良好的机械性能和抗菌性。关键词:织物电极;洗涤稳定性;弯曲性能;耐氧化性能;心电图中图分类号:TS195.5 文献标识码: A 文章编号:1003-5214 (2020) 01-0000-00  相似文献
