It is important to take contact temperatures into account when developing friction and wear tests for potential tribomaterials and when analyzing the results of those tests. This paper presents some of the most useful analytical and numerical methods that can be used to predict surface temperature rises in dry or boundary lubricated pin-on-disk tribotests. The objective is the development of relatively simple, accurate, and easy-to-use expressions that can be used to predict contact temperatures in pin-on-disk sliding contacts. Results of the methods are compared for several different cases, and experimental verification of the predictions are also presented. The resulting expressions are applied to investigate wear of a ceramic (zirconia), metal (stainless steel) and polymer (polyethylene) in pin-on-disk tests.  相似文献

Mortars of blast furnace slag blended with a geothermal silica waste at various replacement levels of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% were cured for up to 90 days. The binder was activated by 6 wt% Na2O equivalent of sodium hydroxide. Lime was added as an activating agent and also to promote pozzolanic reaction with the silica. It was found that the presence of the silica waste increased the reactivity of the cementitious materials, as measured by means of nonevaporable water. The compressive strength was increased in the presence of the silica, except at the highest replacement level of 20%, the optimum silica replacement was that of 5%–10%. The microstructures of blended slag showed less porosity than those of neat slag mortars. The lime was completely consumed after 90 days of hydration.  相似文献

This paper explores the flight of small fixed-wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in a non-steady environment. The vulnerability of light airplanes to wind is analyzed and the effect of such perturbations on airplane performance is incorporated in the equations of motion. A straightforward wind computation approach, which relies on the difference between the predicted motion of the aircraft and the real motion measured by sensors, is presented in order to be used for a path following application. The analysis takes into account the effect of the noise in sensors measurements and in estimates of orientation and airspeed components. One approach to reducing noise in wind estimates is proposed based on on-line adaptation techniques. Parameter estimation with minimum-order design is obtained using tuning functions. Simulations are carried out representing real flight scenarios in which the wind field is not constant and the sensor measurements are imperfect.  相似文献

Lanthanum-based LaBO3 oxides adopting the very stable perovskite structure are currently considered attractive materials for a growing number of applications in the field of solid-state ionics. In particular, LaAlO3-based perovskites are promising electrolyte materials for solid oxide fuel cells because they show almost pure oxygen ion conductivity at low oxygen partial pressures and high temperatures as well as excellent thermal and chemical stability under the standard operating conditions. This article describes a low-temperature synthesis of pure and acceptor-doped perovskite-type LaAlO3 nanopowders via a facile and environmental-friendly molten salts method. Using hydrated metal nitrates and sodium hydroxide as raw materials, the proposed methodology consists of two steps: a mechanically induced metathesis reaction and short firing above NaNO3's melting point. The purpose of the first is twofold: i.e., to generate in situ the NaNO3 flux and to obtain a suitable precursor for the synthesis of the target materials in molten nitrates. Accordingly, pure and Mg- and/or Sr-doped LaAlO3 powders were obtained directly without using any purification step at temperatures ≤500 °C. When preparing the Mg-containing samples, NaNO2 was also added to the reaction mixture to increase melt reactivity. The formation of the target series in the molten salt is thought to proceed through a “dissolution–precipitation” mechanism with LaAlO3 particles precipitating during cooling from a solution oversaturated with reactants. Electrical properties of the as-prepared materials were measured as a function of temperature and frequency by means of impedance spectroscopy and found comparable to those shown by similar materials prepared using more complicated routes.  相似文献

Abstract—Time series models provide a powerful tool to extract nonstationary features from measured data. In this article, a statistical framework based upon a dynamic harmonic regression model for examining modal behavior is provided. In this model, temporal patterns in measured data are modeled within a stochastic state space setting. Estimates of the states or time-varying parameters are then obtained using an optimal estimation method based on the Kalman filter. Techniques to estimate future values of the unobserved signal are also analyzed. The widely applicable technique is illustrated on both simulated and measured data. Factors that affect the performance of the method are discussed, including the effects of non-linear trends, data quality, and sampling design. Connections with other modal identification methods are also investigated.  相似文献

To explore their possible application as solid electrolytes in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC), this contribution presents the synthesis, characterization and electrical properties of Ln4Zr3O12 (Ln = Y, Ho, Er and Yb) zirconates. All samples were obtained by mechanical milling and their electrical properties were analyzed as a function of frequency and temperature, by using impedance spectroscopy. Our results show that defective fluorite-type zirconates might be successfully obtained after milling stoichiometric mixtures of the corresponding oxides, for 30–40 h in a planetary mill. Such structural form persists even after firing the as-prepared Y, Ho and Er zirconates, at very high temperatures (1500 °C); whereas, Yb4Zr3O12 shows a transition to a rhombohedral δ-phase on firing. Ionic conductivity (σ) values obtained for all compositions at 700 °C (including fluorites and δ-phase), are comparable to those reported for similar ionic conductors, and within the 10−3.82 to 10−6.13 S cm−1 range. Higher σ values were obtained for those zirconates preserving the disordered fluorite-type structure after firing.  相似文献

A coarse mineral with 70% kaolinite and 30% quartz was calcined and chemically activated by alkaline solutions of Na2SiO3 and NaOH. The compressive strength evolution was investigated as a function of the curing temperature at 20 and 80 °C, and the molar ratios of SiO2/Al2O3 (2.64-4.04) and Na2O/Al2O3 (0.62-1.54). For curing at 20 °C, the best composition was SiO2/Al2O3 = 2.96 and NaO/Al2O3 = 0.62, reaching 85 MPa at 28 days. Curing at 80 °C had a positive effect on the strength development only in the first 3 days. X-ray diffraction of the geopolymeric formulations showed the formation of amorphous silicoaluminates of similar nature. The microstructure consisted of unreacted quartz and metakaolinite particles in a matrix of silicoaluminate polymer and condensed silica gel from the unreacted sodium silicate.  相似文献

The hydration of Portland cement (PC) blended with a high amount of a siliceous fly ash (70% fly ash, 30% PC) has been examined. The fly ash contributes significantly to the long-term strength development, when compared to a reference sample with quartz powder. However the long setting time and the poor early strength prevent the use of such binders. Therefore the effect of different activators (sodium carbonate, potassium sodium silicate, potassium citrate and sodium oxalate) on the setting, the hydration kinetics and the strength development of the fly ash-PC blend has been investigated.The addition of the activators increases the pH and decreases thus the calcium concentrations in the pore solution, which leads to a faster reaction of alite and thus to early setting and increased early strength. On the long term, the high alkali concentrations lower the compressive strength and lead to a (partial) destabilization of ettringite.Sodium oxalate and potassium sodium silicate accelerate both the setting of the fly ash-PC blend and increase the early compressive strength. Furthermore, they show better compressive strengths at later ages compared to the other activators. Based on these findings, they can be considered as the most suitable accelerators among the investigated activators.  相似文献
