This paper presents a set of regression models which incorporates concrete and steel types in modeling the costs of office buildings. To these ends, three typical office buildings with seven and 15 stories have been designed by the help of a commercial software taking into account the Turkish practice. In each project C-16, C-20, C-25, C-30 and C-35 concrete classes and S-220 and S-420 steel types were used for dimensioning purposes. Rough construction costs were then calculated for different combinations of concrete classes and steel types. The findings of the study revealed that column dimensions decrease following an increase in a particular concrete class. However, this decrease stops after C-30. Furthermore, an average cost difference of 16% was observed between the steel types S-220 and S-420. 相似文献

To gain access to information on energy use in office buildings, the German Federal Ministry for Economy launched an intensive research and demonstration programme in 1995. In advance of the 2002 EU energy performance directive a limited primary energy coefficient of about 100 kW h m−2 a−1 as a goal for the complete building services technology was postulated (HVAC + lighting) for all demonstration buildings to be supported. A further condition was that active cooling be avoided. Techniques such as natural or mechanical night ventilation or heat removal by slab cooling with vertical ground pipes as well as earth-to-air heat exchangers in the ventilation system were applied. An accompanying research was established to keep track of the results and the lessons learned from about 22 demonstration buildings realized and monitored until the end of 2005. As one outcome this paper summarises the energy performance of a selection of characteristic buildings together with an overview on the summer thermal comfort situations achieved. We propose “Ubiquitous Acoustic Spaces,” in which each sound source can emit some address information with audio signals and allow automatic access to its related cyber space, using handheld devices such as cell phones. In order to realize this concept, we have considered three types of extraction methods: acoustic modulation, audio fingerprints, and audio watermarking. We have proposed a novel audio watermarking technique, which allows contactless asynchronous detection of embedded audio watermarks through speaker and microphone devices. However, its embedding data rate was around 10 bps, which was not sufficient for embedding generally used URL address texts. Therefore, we have extended the embedding frequency range and proposed a duplicated embedding algorithm, which uses both the previously proposed frequency division method and the temporal division method together. By these improvements, the possible embedding data rate could be extended to 61.5 bps, and we could extract watermarks through public telephone networks, even from a cell phone sound source. In this paper, we describe our improved watermark embedding and extracting algorithms, and present experimental results on watermark extraction precision under several audio signal capturing conditions. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
