Adhesive element modelling and weighted static shape control of composite plates with piezoelectric actuator patches

A novel finite element model is presented for static and dynamic analysis of composite plates integrated with a laminated piezoelectric layer, a host laminated composite plate and an adhesive layer between them. A new adhesive element is developed which includes both peel and shear effects in the adhesive layer based on first‐order shear deformation plate theory. The thin adhesive layer between the piezoelectric layer and the host plate is modelled by assuming that it carries constant shear and peel strains throughout its thickness. In addition, a weighted static shape control scheme for finding the optimal voltage distribution for static shape control is given. By selecting different weighting matrices, a variety of items such as displacements, slopes, curvatures, strains and even generalized forces, can be included in finding the optimal actuating voltage for static shape control. The present model is validated by comparing with those results available in the literature. The numerical results show that the weighted linear least method can give a satisfactory voltage distribution to best match the desired shape. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

复杂结构高耸建筑物爆破拆除切口研究

针对壁体材料多样、结构复杂的高耸建筑物的爆破拆除,通过实验研究确定了爆破切口形式,运用力学理论推导了余留支撑体所对应的圆心角和爆破切口高度计算公式,并在工程实践中得到验证.对爆破拆除类似建筑物具有较大的实用价值.     

铁素体球墨铸铁与20钢的闪光对焊

试验使用铁素体球墨铸铁和20钢的实心棒料进行了闪光对焊，通过改变次级电压4～8级，通电时间3～5s，观察其焊接接头组织的变化并测定其抗拉强度。结果表明，接头由三个区组成；当通电时间一定时，抗拉强度随次级电压的升高先减小后增大；当次级电压一定时，抗拉强度随通电时间的增加而增大。在次级电压为8级、通电时间为5s时，抗拉强度达最大值，为370．8MPa，是20钢母材的90.4％，是球墨铸铁母材的83.7％。     

基于随机分析和概率预测的固定式海洋平台结构风险评估研究

对极端海况进行了环境荷载的联合概率分析。引入了整体不确定性和敏感性分析理论,利用非正态过程、具有不同相关性的多变量随机模拟技术,求解结构的失效概率。提出结构失效分析的新方法,并利用DNV提供的历史数据,对结构失效的后果做了适当分析。以埕北12-C井组平台为实例,对平台甲板高程(Air Gap)失效分析进行了实例计算。结果表明,使用多维联合极值分布理论及相应的求解方法,是离岸工程结构物风险评估的重要手段。     

General Solution for the Dynamic Modeling of Parallel Robots

In this paper, we present a general method to calculate the inverse and direct dynamic models of parallel robots. The models are expressed in a closed form by a single equation in which all the elements needed are expressed. The solution is given in terms of the dynamic models of the legs, the dynamics of the platform and some Jacobian matrices. The proposed method is applied in this paper on two parallel robots with different structures. Categories (2), (3).     

Neural network systems to reproduce crash behavior of structural components

The use of neural networks as global approximation tool in crashworthiness problems is here investigated. Neural networks are not only asked to return some meaningful indices of the structural behavior but also to reproduce load-time curves during crash phenomena. To contain the number of examples required for the training process, parallel subsystems of small neural networks are designed. Design points for the training process are obtained by explicit finite element analyses performed by PAMCRASH. The settlement of the points in the design domain is defined using a maximum distance concept. The procedure is applied to different typical absorption structures made of aluminum alloy: riveted tubes, honeycomb structures, longitudinal keel beam and intersection elements of helicopter subfloors.     

An Experimental Investigation of the Coagulation of Aerosol in a Tube in the Vicinity of Subharmonic Resonance

Nonlinear oscillation of aerosol in the vicinity of a resonance frequency that is twice lower than the first eigenfrequency (subharmonic resonance) is experimentally investigated in tubes with different conditions at the ends. The time dependence of the number density of aerosol droplets is determined, and the effect of the frequency and intensity of oscillation on the process of coagulation of droplets is studied. The nonmonotonic pattern of the dependence of the time of coagulation of aerosol droplets on the frequency of excitation with a minimal value at resonance is found. Ordered space-time structures (alternation of denser and looser regions of aerosol) are revealed in the visible region in the vicinity of the middle of a closed tube.     

Individual and structural origins of friendship and social position among professionals.

Friendship affects individual and organizational well-being through direct relations, social positions, and complex network structures. In this study, the authors use longitudinal data from 2 groups of master's of business administration students to increase understanding of how friendship networks develop. The authors propose and test a dynamic model in which attribute similarity facilitates dyadic friendship ties, as well as similar network centrality and social position; early friendship increases later similarity in structural position and centrality; and early structural similarity enhances the likelihood of future friendship. Findings largely supported the model, demonstrating how homophily and early social contacts can jointly shape maturing friendship networks. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2010 APA, all rights reserved)
