历史街区保护与更新研究——以武昌昙华林街区为例

该文以武汉市昙华林历史街区为研究对象,对其目前现状进行调查研究,得出目前昙华林街区存在物质性衰退、环境孤立、建筑风格紊乱等五个方面的问题。根据国外历史街区保护的先进经验,并结合实际存在的问题,提出昙华林未来发展的走向及对策,力求实现街区活力复兴与可持续发展目标。     

Hungary: the organic and the rational traditions

The most memorable architectural images of the early 1990s were those of the organic architecture of Imre Makovecz. With their extraordinary, Expressionist timber forms, they encapsulated for the West the romantic possibilities of the architecture that lay behind the former Iron Curtain. Edwin Heathcote, who in 1997 wrote a monograph on Imre Makovecz for Academy Editions, here explains why ‘the organic’ counterpoised by ‘the rational’ has continued to provide such a rich dialogue for contemporary Hungarian architecture. Nothing More than a Fragile Edge: Blurring the Boundaries with Mario Cucinella

French Rationalism: A Broken Tradition

Once dominated by the spectres of Le Corbusier and Auguste Perret, the rational was deeply embedded in French tectonic culture. Assessing architectural color preference after Le Corbusier's 1931 Salubra keyboards: A cross cultural analysis

Color preference for the interior of a bedroom of Le Corbusier's Swiss Pavilion was studied using 1931 Salubra color keyboards in a cross-cultural analysis. Results indicate that students from architecture and interior design slightly dislike or are indifferent to Le Corbusier color combinations and prefer pale and low saturated colors for interior architecture. The least preferred colors belong to green and brown hues. Scarce significant gender differences are found that follow a stereotyped tendency, with females preferring pinks, light blues and light greens, while males vivid oranges and Vermilions. Near Easterners are significantly more likely to green colors, while Western Europeans to dark greys. These data indicate that not only hue, but also value and saturation are important color features to inform preference for interior architecture.     

The Architectural Detail and the Fear of Commitment

Mark Burry holds a unique position in architecture, straddling the worlds of practice and academia as Senior Architect to the Temple Sagrada Família in Barcelona and as Professor at RMIT in Melbourne, where he is Founding Director of the RMIT Design Research Institute. In his Counterpoint to this issue of AD, he puts the spotlight back on construction, asking whether the detail could be in danger of falling victim to an inadvertent and ‘massive separation of design from making’. As he states: ‘to detail effectively is to understand not only what the building “is”, but how it will be made’.
