“SEQ OF PAR”结构化并行程序设计

本文基于有关因果关系复合的Ｃｏｍｍｕｎｉｃａｔｉｏｎ Ｃｌｏｓｅｄ Ｌａｙｅｒ理论提出了一种结构化并行程序设计方法以支持不同并行平台的“通用”并行程序设计。该模型采用“ＳＥＱ ＯＦ ＰＡＲ”的层次化结构和基于伪同态的并行抽象数据类型来分析和刻画程序的并行行为。     

Identification of linear systems with time delay and unknown order

This paper proposes a system identification method for linear systems with time delay and unknown order. We hypothesize a number of candidate models, which have different order, because system order is unknown. In each model, we estimate the model parameters based on the maximum likelihood method by using nonlinear optimization technique. Then both local optimization technique and global search method are used because the estimated parameters may fall into a local minimum. After all candidate model's parameters are estimated, one model is selected among these models to estimate the system order by using a posteriori probability based on Bayes's theorem. Finally, the validity of the proposed method is demonstrated by numerical examples. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 单模光纤反常色散区零色散波长附近的啁啾演变

当单模光纤的反常色散区二阶，三阶色散同时存在时，首次推出了群速度色散致啁啾的解析表达式，并讨论了啁啾演变过程。利用数值方法，模拟了零色散波长附近群速度色散效应与自相位调制效应共同作用时啁啾的演变。结果表明，三阶色散会导致脉冲铅的畸变。     

Chinese document layout analysis using an adaptive regrouping strategy

In document layout analysis, the defining conditions for textlines and text regions involve certain numerical parameters (e.g. inter-character spacing and inter-textline spacing) whose values can only be estimated when textlines and text regions have already been formed. This seemingly chicken-and-egg problem can be solved through an adaptive regrouping strategy, which consists of three operations. First, we group basic ingredients into preliminary textlines and text regions according to crude parametric values. Second, we refine our estimate of the parametric values based on the groups thus formed. Third, we form new groups by splitting and merging existing groups based on the newly estimated values. This paper applies the above strategy to Chinese documents whose complexity derives from the coexistence of horizontal and vertical textlines. Successful results are obtained using this approach. The accuracy rates for identifying text regions and textlines are above 98% in a test database consisting of over one thousand document samples and various layout structures.

Effective Periodic Poling in Optical Fibers

The distributions of electric field and induced second‐order nonlinearity are analyzed in the periodic poling of optical fibers. A quasi‐phase matching efficiency for the induced nonlinearity is calculated in terms of both the electrode separation distance between the applied voltage and generalized electrode width for the periodic poling. Our analysis of the quasi‐phase matching efficiency implies that the conversion efficiency can be enhanced through adjusting the separation distance, and the electrode width can be maximized if the electrode width is optimized.     

ADPTIVE INTERFERENCE CANCELER BASED ON FOURTH ORDER CUMULANT

An adaptive interference cancler algorithm based on fourth-order cumulant is proposed to overcome the fault of conventional autocorrelation-based Least Mean Square (LMS)algorithm which cannot suppress the correlated Gaussian noises. The recursive formulation of the proposed algorithm is given to reduce its computational complexity. The simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of this novel approach.
