This article presents a dual‐polarized filtering patch antenna, which uses two orthogonal modes (TE210/TE120) of the substrate integrated cavity (SIC) to couple with two orthogonal modes (TM10/TM01) of the patch by the cross slot, respectively. The second‐order filtering response on dual polarizations can be achieved by using just one SIC resonator and one slotted square patch, which display simple structure of the proposed antenna. The slotted square patch provides a new way to obtain same external quality factor of the radiator on dual polarization, which makes the performances on two polarizations agree well with each other when changing the bandwidth. High isolation can be achieved by controlling the space of the vias of the SIC. Radiation nulls can be produced by connecting the coupled lines with the feeding lines in parallel. A prototype with the entire height of 0.019 λ0 (λ0 is the free‐space wavelength at center frequency) achieves a 10‐dB bandwidth of 1.6%, the gain of 4.9 dBi at the center frequency, the port isolation of 43 dB, and the out‐of‐band rejection level of 25 dB. 相似文献

In this article, a compact uniplanar asymmetric coplanar strip (ACS)‐fed multiband antenna with extended rectangular strips is proposed for portable system applications. It is composed of a modified mouse and rectangular‐shaped radiating strip for generating three resonance frequency bands simultaneously. The proposed antenna has a compact size of 16 × 26 × 1.6 mm3. Antenna has |S11| ≤ ?10 dB at three independent controlled bandwidths from 2.2 to 2.4 GHz, 3.5 to 3.7 GHz, and 4.85 to 6.85 GHz. The proposed ACS‐fed antenna is suitable for LTE 2300, WiBro 2300 GHz, 5.2/5.8‐GHz WLAN, 3.5/5.5‐GHz WiMAX, 4.9‐GHz US public safety band, and 5.9‐GHz WAVE applications. The antenna has omnidirectional radiation characteristics in the desired frequency bands in both E‐plane and H‐plane. In this article, a novel dual‐band circularly polarized (CP) dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) for millimeter‐wave (MMW) band is presented. The rectangular dielectric resonator with layered truncated corners is excited by a microstrip‐coupled cross‐slot. CP radiations in the lower band are realized by utilizing two quasi‐TE111 modes operating at 21.7 GHz and 23.8 GHz, while CP radiations in the upper band are obtained by exciting a quasi‐TE113 mode at 28.2 GHz. The dual‐band DRA is fabricated and measured. Due to the higher order mode, the average gain of the DRA in the upper band is about 3 dB higher than that in the lower band. The measured impedance bandwidths (|S11| < ?10 dB) are 17.0% (20.5‐24.3 GHz) and 15.2% (26.1‐30.4 GHz), while the measured axial ratio (AR) bandwidths (AR < 3 dB) are 12.8% (21.2‐24.1 GHz) and 5% (27.4‐28.8 GHz). This article reports a novel wideband rectenna for RF energy harvesting applications. A wideband fractal slotted ground antenna (SGA) is adopted. The operating frequency bands of the antenna are GSM, UMTS, Wi‐Fi, and LTE2600/4G bands. The antenna is fed by a dual‐polarized and differential‐feed (DP‐DF) microstrip lines disposed with an angle of 90° each relative to the other. The feed lines are etched on the bottom side of the substrate and connected to an array of four wideband RF‐to‐DC rectifiers. A nonuniform transmission lines filter ensures wideband behavior for each rectifier. The rectenna performances are simulated and measured. The experiments show an output DC voltage of 1 V at a power density of 26.6 μW/cm2 over the frequency band of operation with a peak efficiency of 50%. The proposed rectenna is suitable for energy harvesting applications in urban environments. 相似文献

An ultra‐wideband planar fractal monopole antenna with dual‐notch characteristics is presented in this article. The microstrip fed antenna consists of nested trapezoidal rings and defected ground plane. Measured results show that the proposed antenna operates with a 10 dB return loss bandwidth from 2.2 to 10.8 GHz with notch bands at (2500‐2690) MHz and (3300‐4200) MHz covering LTE 2500, WiMAX and part of C‐band. 相似文献

This article proposes the use of a magnetic metamaterial (MTM) slab over the ground plane of a wire monopole antenna to improve its directivity. In this regard, mu very large (MVL) behavior of the metamaterial is utilized for enhancing the directivity of the monopole. Despite the directivity enhancement of about 5 dB, an improved bandwidth of 35% is obtained for the proposed configuration. Initially, a 2 × 3 array of a single MTM slab has been placed over the ground plane of the monopole. It is shown that, over the whole working band, a significant directivity improvement is maintained compared to the unloaded monopole. In this article, frequency tuning and circularly polarized concentric circular microstrip antenna is investigated. The proposed antenna consist of varactor diode for frequency tuning and branch line coupler (BLC) feed network to achieve the circular polarization (RHCP/LHCP). By changing the varactor diode capacitance between 12.33 pF (0 V) to 1.30 pF (15 V) attain the frequency tuning (2.34‐2.68 GHz). The right hand circular polarization (RHCP) and left hand circular polarizations (LHCP) are realized in the antenna through BLC feed network output ports. The impedance bandwidth (2.05‐3.13 GHz) of BLC feed network is well‐matched with the circular microstrip antenna frequency tunable bandwidth. In this article, a compact dual layer leaky wave antenna array is simulated and constructed using the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) based on the TE20 mode at the X‐ and Ku‐bands. The proposed antenna is designed by creating dumbbell‐shaped slots on the upper layer of the SIW. These slots have increased the antenna bandwidth so that the proposed antenna has a bandwidth of 9.5 to 13.7 GHz and a fractional bandwidth of 36%. In addition, to excite the TE20 mode, an SIW power divider is used in the feeding network of the antenna located in the bottom layer. Moreover, the gain and directivity are other advantages of the proposed antenna so that at 12.5 GHz the antenna peak gain reaches to 15.7 dB. Antenna beam scanning angle is from 5° to 81°. This antenna is simulated and analyzed by the CST Microwave Studio software. The obtained results from the antenna test lab confirm the simulation results. 相似文献

Present article embodies the design and analysis of an octagonal shaped split ring resonator based multiband antenna fed at vertex for wireless applications with frequency‐band reconfigurable characteristics. The proposed antenna is printed on FR4 substrate with electrical dimension of 0.4884 λ × 0.4329 λ × 0.0178 λ (44 × 39 × 1.6 mm3), at lower frequency of 3.33 GHz. The antenna consists of SRR based vertex fed octagonal ring as the radiation element and switchable reclined L‐shaped slotted ground plane. Antenna achieves six bands for wireless standards viz: upper WLAN (5.0/5.8 GHz), lower WiMAX (3.3 GHz), super extended C‐band (6.6 GHz), middle X band (9.9 GHz—for space communication), and lower KU band (15.9 GHz—for satellite communication systems operating band). Stable radiation patterns are observed for the operating bands with low cross polarization. The proposed design achieves hexa band characteristics during switching ON state of PIN diode located at reclined L‐shaped slot in the ground plane. Experimental characteristic of antenna shows close agreement with those obtained by simulation of the proposed antenna. 相似文献

This article presents an ultrawideband (UWB) crossed dipole antenna with circularly polarized (CP) and dual band‐notched characteristics. The proposed design is based on two orthogonal tapered dipoles for UWB CP operation and a square‐shaped cavity for high broadside gain over the entire operating bandwidth (BW). To generate dual band‐notched characteristics, two separated slots are inserted into each dipole's arm. This antenna yields measured impedance BW of 100% (3.2‐9.6 GHz) with dual‐band rejection centered at 5.2 and 5.8 GHz. Correspondingly, dual rejected bands are also observed in the original UWB CP band, which ranges from 3.2 to 8.2 GHz. Additionally, the proposed antenna exhibits high broadside gains better than 6.2 dBic and radiation efficiency greater than 82%. 相似文献
