Land use systems are complex adaptive systems, and they are characterized by emergence, nonlinearity, feedbacks, self organization, path dependence, adaptation, and multiple-scale characteristics. Land use/cover change has been recognized as one of the major drivers of global environmental change. This paper presents a coupled Cellular Automata (CA) and Radial Basis Function Neural (RBFN) Network model, which combines Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to contribute to the understanding of the complex land use/cover change process. In this model, GIS analysis is used to generate spatial drivers of land use/cover changes, and RBFN is trained to extract model parameters. Through the RBFN-CA model, the conversion probabilities of each cell from its initial land use state to the target type can be generated automatically. Future land use/cover scenarios are projected by using generated parameters in the model training process. This RBFN-CA model is tested based on the comparison of model output and the real data. A BPN-CA model is also built and compared with the RBFN-CA model by using a variety of calibration metrics, including confusion matrix, figure of merit, and landscape metrics. Both the location and landscape metrics based assessment for model simulation indicate that the RBFN-CA model performs better than the BPN-CA model for simulating land use changes in the study area. Therefore the RBFN-CA model is capable of simulating multiple classes of land use/cover changes and can be used as a useful communication environment for stakeholders involved in land use decision-making. 相似文献

In this study, the novel temperature-stable (1-x)Ag2MoO4-xAg0.5Bi0.5MoO4 microwave dielectric ceramics were prepared by a modified solid-state reaction method. The phase composition, microstructures and microwave dielectric properties of the (1-x)Ag2MoO4-xAg0.5Bi0.5MoO4 ceramics were investigated. All the compounds can be sintered well at ultra-low temperatures (<540 °C). The XRD and SEM analysis indicate that the Ag2MoO4 and the Ag0.5Bi0.5MoO4 can coexist with each other. When x = 0.65, the ceramics exhibit the best microwave dielectric properties with a relative permittivity of 23.9, a Q × f value of 16,200 GHz (at 7.3 GHz) and a near-zero TCF value of -2.4 ppm/°C at 520 °C. The results indicate that temperature-stable (1-x)Ag2MoO4-xAg0.5Bi0.5MoO4 ceramics are promising candidates for low temperature co-fired ceramics (LTCC) applications. 相似文献

Since 2000, particularly in the aftermath of the global financial crisis, there has emerged revisit of the role of the state in technological upgrading of latecomer cities and regions in developing countries, including China. The effectiveness of a technological innovation strategy driven by transnational corporations (TNCs) has been questioned, despite its significant contribution to rapid industrialization via strategic coupling in the global production networks (GPNs). There has been a paradigm shift of innovation policy towards indigenous innovation through state-led explicit coupling of designated domestic firms and lead firms in the GPNs. The practice of this remains understudied, however. By examining the development of the liquid crystal display (LCD) industry, one of the strategic emerging industries (SEIs) in Shenzhen, this paper sheds light on the collective roles of various state authorities ranging from the central to provincial and municipal governments in fostering technological innovation of domestic firms (e.g. CSOT) through explicit coupling with global lead firms (e.g. Samsung). The empirical experience in Shenzhen indicates that indigenous innovation focused on domestic firms may unnecessarily exclude the participation of TNCs. This study urges more research to examine the changing dynamics of technological catch-up of domestic firms in an increasingly globalized and uncertain world economy. 相似文献
