The vast majority of the project scheduling research efforts over the past several years have concentrated on the development
of workable predictive baseline schedules, assuming complete information and a static and deterministic environment. During
execution, however, a project may be subject to numerous schedule disruptions. Proactive-reactive project scheduling procedures
try to cope with these disruptions through the combination of a proactive scheduling procedure for generating predictive baseline
schedules that are hopefully robust in that they incorporate safety time to absorb anticipated disruptions with a reactive
procedure that is invoked when a schedule breakage occurs during project execution.
In this paper we discuss the results obtained by a large experimental design set up to evaluate several predictive-reactive
resource-constrained project scheduling procedures under the composite objective of maximizing both the schedule stability

We consider the scheduling of orders in an environment with m uniform machines in parallel. Each order requests certain amounts of k different product types. Each product type can be produced by any one of the m machines. No setup is required if a machine switches over from one product type to another. Different product types intended for the same order can be produced at the same time (concurrently) on different machines. Each order is released at time zero and has a positive weight. Preemptions are allowed. The completion time of an order is the finish time of the product type that is completed last for that order. The objective is to minimize the total weighted completion time. We propose heuristics for the non-preemptive as well as the preemptive case and obtain worst case bounds that are a function of the number of machines as well as the differences in the speeds of the machines. In this article we study thetabu search (TS) method in an application for solving an important class of scheduling problems. Tabu search is characterized by integrating artificial intelligence and optimization principles, with particular emphasis on exploiting flexible memory structures, to yield a highly effective solution procedure. We first discuss the problem of minimizing the sum of the setup costs and linear delay penalties when N jobs, arriving at time zero, are to be scheduled for sequential processing on a continuously available machine. A prototype TS method is developed for this problem using the common approach of exchanging the position of two jobs to transform one schedule into another. A more powerful method is then developed that employs insert moves in combination with swap moves to search the solution space. This method and the best parameters found for it during the preliminary experimentation with the prototype procedure are used to obtain solutions to a more complex problem that considers setup times in addition to setup costs. In this case, our procedure succeeded in finding optimal solutions to all problems for which these solutions are known and a better solution to a larger problem for which optimizing procedures exceeded a specified time limit (branch and bound) or reached a memory overflow (branch and bound/dynamic programming) before normal termination. These experiments confirm not only the effectiveness but also the robustness of the TS method, in terms of the solution quality obtained with a common set of parameter choices for two related but different problems. 相似文献

车辆实时监管正面临着不断增长的大规模车辆监测数据的实时处理需求,需要采用分布式的并行计算架构来提升大规模车辆监测数据处理的性能,支撑多样化的车辆监测数据处理任务,应对支撑环境的伸缩性需求。在这种架构下,对系统中不同计算节点间的车辆监测数据处理任务的调度提出了更高的要求。针对这一要求,并结合流式到达及历史积累的车辆监测数据的持续化处理需求以及大规模车辆监测数据实时处理中内存敏感的特征,提出一种基于路由表的并行任务调度算法。该算法基于车辆监测数据时空属性以及各计算节点的内存信息建立路由表,并以路由表的形式来进行任务的并行划分和分配调度,从而使得各计算节点达到负载均衡的状态。实验表明该算法能够使计算节点间的负载差异缩小到12%以内。此外,该算法在某市车辆监管实时系统中的实际应用也证明了其有效性。 相似文献
